FDA is scaring me

Just seemed like you don't want people to know where to get nicotine from that's all. Where else they going to get it.

What about a site that sold nicotine in minute quantities. Say enough to be added to a 30ml bottle of base liquid to make for example a 36mg nicotine bottle of e liquid. Or better still you could buy it in a 30ml bottle then just add the other ingredients. Where would be the harm in that ?. Seriously, because i don't know, really !. Would that also be dangerous ?. Would a regular vendor be able to work around regulations/bans/sanctions by selling it as a standalone product ?. Does that sound like a reasonable proposal ?

No evan, I just don't want anyone to get themselves hurt by mixing with the wrong nic base. (Not to mention posting links to anything over 10% is prohibited on ECF, which is why your post was removed) ECF has several registered suppliers (and there are others that aren't registered but are recommended by many members) who sell up to 100 mg/ml, and DIYers use up to that strength to mix their own juices with. I personally use 60 mg/ml and have been mixing my own juice for about 2 1/2 years. There isn't any harm in mixing, as long as you do it safely. So if the FDA bans ecigs, would it go into effect immediately?
I'm wondering if I should buy a bunch of DIY juice to be prepared, what do you think?
I can NOT go back to real cigarettes, with health problems I think it would kill me.

I wouldn't be Seriously Worried right now. Very Concerned, Yes. But don't Worry.

1 - The FDA is NOT GOING TO BAN E-CIARETTES Completely. They are Here to Stay. But as DC2 Mentioned, your Ability to buy Liquid e-Liquid to refill Cartos/Clearo/Tanks way be Phased Out.

2 - There is Time Now to start getting Prepared for Any Scenario. Learn to do Simple DIY. Stock up on Nicotine Base. Learn to make a RBA Coil/Wick. etc.

3 - Think about Weaning yourself off of Nicotine - If you can get to 0mg, Most of what the FDA Can do will not Effect you. The Can't Ban PG, VG and Flavorings.

Now is Not a Time to be Complacent. But it Isn't a Time to Panic Either.

What makes me laugh is someone got my post deleted because it showed a link to a site that sold nicotine. You can see how funny that is right ?. This thread is about the availability of nicotine, and when i posted a link to a site that sells it, some clever clogs reports it to the forum moderators. I do understand why it was reported, but the idea of deleting the link is funny given the subject matter !.

d. The use of 'Pure Nicotine' cannot be discussed (in detail) on public forums on ECF (trade forums are exempt) due to the hazard [1] - see Notes below. That is to say, it can be mentioned in passing but not discussed at length especially as regards mixing.

[1] It became obvious that some members joining in discussion of pure nicotine did not have any idea of the danger, or any knowledge of working with hazardous chemicals, or even any basic knowledge of measurements. Pure nic is as dangerous as cyanide - opening a bottle in a room can result in all present being poisoned. It must be handled in a fume cupboard, with hazmat precautions. Pure nic can be theoretically defined as: Nicotine 100%, 1000mg, 1000mg/ml, but is more likely to be found as 998mg, 997mg/ml or 990 mg (99%). We consider anything over 90% / 900mg to be 'pure nic'. No discussion of use or links to suppliers whatsoever [2] are allowed.

There is a very real danger of death or hospitalization with this material and ECF cannot support any publicity of its use or sources. There is no need to use it since far safer strengths are available for bulk mixing, such as 48mg (4.8% nicotine in PG or VG), 60mg (6%), and 100mg (10%). To protect our members and ourselves we do not allow discussion of or sources for anything over 200mg (20% nic) [2].

Advertising/promotion on ECF cannot exceed 36mg strength. Vendor's sites can sell any strength up to 89% though we advise vendors to limit sales to 10% / 100mg/ml where possible. Sites selling pure nic will be banned.

I'm also concerned about this. I do see them putting regulations on what needs to be on ejuice labels. Possibly a special license to handle nicotine. Here's an interesting timeline history about e-cigs from CASAA - E-cigarette History

CASAA is a great start. Check them out. Add your experience when they ask for testimonials. Complete their polls. In short, support the organization that is supporting your right to vape.

But don't let it stop there. Write everyone you can think of. Be vocal about your right to vape. Health concerns are not the reason for any proposed legislation. Study after study comes out supporting e cigarettes as a relatively safe alternative to smoking and a good alternative nicotine delivery system. Get the work out. Carry CASAA cards with you and hand them out. In a country where someone can limit the size of your drink, anything can happen! Make noise folks!!

I just ordered my first bottle of 60 mg nicotine. I will dilute some for my first DIY attempts and freeze the rest. I will order a bottle every week or so. I am going to stock up. I will grab a few more eGo batteries, another APV or three and lots of replacement parts for my clearos, carto tanks and learn to rebuild if I have too. I protected my smoking by always having the money for the next carton and always having a pack within easy reach at all times. I will protect my vaping.
