I just don't understand... I am pleasantly surprised that no one in here is like well good about time they pick on someone else... that everyone sees this is just more limitations of adults making decisions for themselves while there are glaringly obvious other things out there that do harm that are perfectly okay and in my opinion should be perfectly okay. Like sugar for example we have an obesity epidemic in the United States and most of the world at this point. Sugar and fat and overly processed food aren't good for you. And it is addictive in a way. But you should still have the choice to use that if you wish but if we're going to use health outcomes as an excuse to ban things obesity would be number one to tackle then wouldn't it?

But of course it's not about health. I don't really know what this one's about there was a couple black rights groups that seemed in the article I read to actually approve of it and they were using the justification that because African-American people tend to have poorer health outcomes and less access to proper care and discrimination within healthcare that banning menthol cigarettes which are more popular would somehow reduce that issue... Or at least that's what it seemed to be implying. But how about we just fix the actual problem rather than giving anyone more reason to police individual activities that aren't harming anyone but themselves. I would think that that would be of the utmost importance. Yes it doesn't mention a ban on possession but in reality how far away might that be And what if people with authority misinterpret that or even just have an interaction with a vulnerable population and let's say they're saying theyre wanting to ask where they got the menthol cigarettes because they are not allowed to be sold...well that puts someone in a position where they're in an interaction that could end up becoming an issue potentially even life-threatening but at the very least annoying and harassing. I'm trying to choose my words really carefully here because I don't want to offend anyone I don't want to politicize this This is an American problem this is not a party problem but damn it just I wish they would stop

Which began shortly after the government changed its definition of what it is to be obese.
What an odd coincidence.

Sugar and fat and overly processed food aren't good for you. And it is addictive in a way.
Not "in a way" -- Sugar is a highly addictive chemical. Natural sugars, like in fruits, are good for you, of course; the abundant, processed garbage in ultra-processed foods, not so much. Same with natural fats.

You're overall point though... agree totally.

I wish they would stop
They won't.
We the people have to stop them.
We won't.

It depends on age really. Those of us stocking up for "life" are a bit older, and it's easier to stock up for 25 years... but 50? Thats a different story.

My son refused to stock up at all because he saw himself as too young to do so.. and yes, did also decide just to return to smoking.

In the end it's personal choice...
I'm one of the older folks who has essentially stocked up for life. And, I certainly understand the situation for younger people who have switched to vaping!
On the other hand, if, for whatever reason, I had to give up vaping, there is no doubt in my mind that I'd have an easier time giving up vaping than I would have had ditching cigarettes without the benefit of vaping. Not saying it would be effortless, but easier. And, also without a doubt, I would do just that. There's no way in hell I will ever return to smoking regardless.
Personal choice with a pinch of reasoning and the awareness that smoking is a deadly habit.

I think before we decide to prevent blacks and LGBTQ from having access to their own private tobacco choices we should stop predatory lending that targets those already in poverty ..

But hey... I'm just sane... lol

I just got to shake my head of the list of what the current administration says needs banning and what needs to be fixed. I gaze into the future and think, I used to be a free man able to make my own decisions
