After reading this I got all paranoid and bought 3 more years worth of nicotine. All in all I can sustain making my own juice for another 5 years off what I already have. Maybe longer if I really conserve. I’m not done stocking up. I’m going to buy more when my wife forgets about me just buying more and taking up her cabinet/freezer space.

    Without reading any other replies of which there are many on this thread. I can say yes they absolutely will then flavors. And who could blame them? Have you seen some of the packaging and advertisement they have Candy products that look exactly like the Vape products designed to mimic them. It's unbelievable. I get the Vape news on my email and they showed the Vape product next to the food or candy product that it is supposed to mimic and they look nearly identical. So perhaps I am wrong but it seems as though the manufacturers are more to blame than anyone else. Vape juice is essentially poisonous if used incorrectly. So it should be labeled as such. As far as I am concerned the reputable juice producers that I use over accentuate if that is a word their product. It is a poison if used incorrectly however if used correctly it is safe. I don't know do I make sense in this? Some of the products looks so much like the food or candy items that if I were illiterate I would probably use them inappropriately. So as far as I'm concerned thanks to the distributors for wanting to make a quick dollar and not rely on the quality of their product to stand for itself. My solution DIY

    Yeah give me some of that candy ... how much is it ... 20 DOLLARS!!! No thanks! Is this a real problem?

    It could be confused after the sale, but have you or any of the alarmists about this actually tried to drink ejuice? Maybe enough of the strong nic salt stuff could be gotten down, but most of those lookalike boxes are 3 mg. Kids do stupid things though, I got sick on Tang. I don't remember a warning label.

    I simply do not trust the FDA to do the right thing. Guess it's time to learn to DIY.
    Yep I monkeyed around with DiY a couple of years ago to insure I knew how to do it. It's actually pretty easy, there's good recipes online and you can tweak to your hearts desire. I do have my favorite juices that are excellent so I still buy and don't mess with DiY juice much, but I know how to do it if required. My recommendation is
    • Get a decent Magnetic Stirrer
    • Some Glass Beakers with rubber stops
    • If you don't want to do by weight get some Glass Pipettes with the pump if you just want to do by volume
    • Then of course some good Boston Glass bottles, I would recommend around 120ml bottles (they're cheap)
    You're all set and ready to rock and roll

    You can also make perfectly great DIY eliquids when measuring by volume...with just these basic, very inexpensive supplies:

    * Syringes (2-3 each - 1mL, 3mL, 5mL, 10mL)
    * $.25-.75 blunt needle tips (about 5-6, in 14ga. or 12ga.)
    * Empty eliquid plastic bottles (some of each 10-15mL, 30mL, 50mL, maybe some 100-120mL...to make your eliquids in & to store it in them) PP and LDPE are the squeezable ones that don't leech any plastic chemicals into their contents

    The only ingredients you need are: nicotine base, plain PG, plain VG, and flavorings.

    Just because state and local governments are doing it first is not proof that the FDA doesn't have the authority. ;)
    You're right. But it's also true that FDA works only under the authority it has from Congress. Local yokels have no such limits. FDA only gets to interpret their authorizing legislation. Locals get to write the authorization and interpret it however they want.

    No argument with any of that.

    However, I still maintain that the FDA does already have the authority to ban flavors in tobacco products.

    Whether, when, and how they will exercise that authority remains unclear at this time.

    The FDA already has "interpreted their authorizing legislation" to mean they can regulate flavors. They have not only said they were considering it, they already collected input on the subject in order to make their decision on how they plan to regulate flavors.

    My guess (hope) based on things the FDA has said about not wanting to cause people to go back to smoking, is that they will regulate just the packaging, age requirements, display, and child proof caps. Only time will tell.
