I was just able to get in here today after a large internet outage that
happened in the state -- Been out since late Friday Afternoon.... I was
really hoping it wouldn't be out for the FDA Hearing because I want to
watch as much as I can of that.
Actually, this is a public hearing, meaning ANYONE can attend to watch and listen without registering.
Only people who wish to present must pre-register.
A large number of supportive bodies in the "peanut gallery" is always a good thing--if for no other reason than it shows the press (who will be in attendance) that e-cigs have a lot of support. Also it gives you the opportunity to see how these things REALLY work, and see first-hand the way that the FDA deals with these issues--which will hopefully motivate people to get more active in supporting vaping on a more official level like by contacting their elected officials, writing letters to the editor, and sending written testimonies to the FDA.
I missed the deadline to submit as a presenter, but I am going to try and get off work to attend as a spectator...
If it were at all possible for me to be there, I would be, even it's just for support and
to add another face in the crowd (vaping away mind you

)

I have found that there is often a long lag between the occurrence of an FDA meeting and their posting of the recording and transcript. Their recording should be faster, but you never now.
Link Williams, who is filming the We Are Vapers moving will be attending and has permission to video-record the proceedings. We plan to make copies available for viewing via the CASAA web site.
That is good because I have to go to a doctors appointment with my son Monday morning
and will miss about 3 hours of the meeting... so I will need to have a way to watch it later
on... Thanks

I think it is about time America regained some 'Parental Control'.
AMEN!!! -- and in More Ways than One!
America needs to regain control of its own government... P E R I O D !
Our government has gotten out of hand and is more than just trying to control us... it is trying
to control the rest of the world as well... funny thing is, it can't even get it straight at home.
I am also afraid I have to agree with Petrodus o nthat too -- the people of America have given
the government the power they have by not doing anything about it when they had the chances
to do so.
Now, when something goes awry, all most of the people want to do is sit on their butts complaining.
They seem to think the Gov will take care of them and make it all better.
Honestly, I am sick of it... I love the USA but the people have made it a very poor place to be
anymore... that and the incessant greed and piss poor attitudes toward its own people.
I have said all along that this country needs to take some examples from other countries who
ARE making it work. There is just way to much out of whack here and they just keep piling on
more wackiness without getting rid of the conflicting stuff still on the books.
It is Insane here that is for certain.
As for the renaming of the e-cigarette to make it more appropriate for the average instead of
pushing it into a medical category... I really don't think the name would much matter once it is
established exactly how it works and what it is for.
The name "E-Cigarette" fits due to its conception as a "Look Alike" to the analog and is most
appropriate in this Digital Age.
If they assume something based on its name - and we all know what "Assume" signifies - then
they (anyone who is assuming) is showing ignorance of the device and that is where education
on them needs to come in.
To call it by any other name would only create more confusion since it has been called by that
for years now... and a "Vaporizer" (as in PV) really holds no medical insinuation because you can
buy a "Vaporizer" or "Humidifier" in any department store and it does not have to be in a medical
supply area.
So... the E-Cigarette and/or PV is appropriate - what makes the difference is its intent and use
and its primary uses are NOT for treatment, NRT, or as a Cessation device.
Also, in a sense, it is already equated as an NRT in many ways --
I asked my son's doctor the other day, showing her my Ego with Clearomizer atached:
"What is your opinion on these?"
She looked at it and said "What is that?"
I thought that was funny.....
I said "It's an Electronic Cigarette"... and she said...
"I have heard a lot of people have had great success with those."
So see... due to what knowledge people (doctors) have of them, they are already equated
with and referred to (indirectly) as a Cessation Device by many in the field.
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny;
when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
Thomas Jefferson
AMEN! Again! -- I have used that as a signature before. Even used it in Facebook

It is true but the problem is, the people fear it but don't say anything about it out of
that fear of it.
