Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere. If so, I can't find it. :D
It would be very useful to be able to alphabetize the supporting suppliers list. As it is now it's all over the place. Makes it time consuming to try and find a specific supplier forum. Thanks. :)

I agree, plus I think it would be beneficial to be able to sort that list by number of posts too. That way you can see which supplier has more thread activity.

Side note, each supplier might be paying for slots at the top of the list... who knows.

Kaston great Idea...
Along would be nice is a Credit system. If someone found your post to be useful They could give you credit..
There is a few tips & Tricks I have Seen & been around at other forums.
But Implementing them is the issue. Takes Lots of time and work.

Karma system is built into vBulletin if I recall & Can disable portions of it like the negative karma. & Use it to gain access to spots after reaching a specific karma...

Possibly just Turn it into CMPS..
Using something like vBadvanced
Side Bars Could be useful For navigation to HotSpots of forums..
Business Links Sales And Lot's More.

I may be asking too much here, but the forum might want to consider subdomains. For example:

Code:
highvoltage.e-cigarette-forum.com
or

Code:
beginners.e-cigarette-forum.com
or

Code:
marketplace.e-cigarette-forum.com

which would target specific groups/functions that receive relatively large portions of traffic, thereby freeing up space and forums on the forum index.

If that isn't a route the forum would want to take, possibly consider the collapsible tree/menu option (as has been mentioned before). If you make the sections of the forum on the index page (e.g. Announcements, Modding, Approved Suppliers, etc.) collapsible, I think it'd help to improve not only aesthetics, but user experience. A crowded page with a lot of information isn't pleasing to the eyes or the mind.

You could even further that feature into the realm of individual threads. That is, individual posts within a thread could be collapsible so that users could choose which posts they wished to read. In this sense (particularly if you utilized AJAX and dynamically-loaded content) you could save on, at least, http bandwidth.

And if nothing I've mentioned intrigues anybody, then at the very least, and for the love of G-d, fix the search engine! :D

Sound good? Glad I could help.

Ok, first let me say I did search for, user rating, user ranking, user karma before posting this, and looked through all the suggestions. It was nice that most of them had been closed, but had to read a lot near end which was nice and bad. (Bad cause I don't know if its been suggested yet, nice cause I didn't have to read much n im extremely lazy)

I don't know if this is something I have to wait for more privileges to do, but I can't seem to rate a post or use any kind of karma like system for users. I would think this would be an excellent method of easy spammer detection, and would be nice to know if someone keeps hating on something repeatedly to be able to lower there voice level in the thread.

I know this one is in the redesign, but using the search to actually find something is so hard. I'm not sure what syntax is possible, but from my use "" aren't? Browsing for answers is usually the option I take, and for someone who managed CMS systems for years I would expect some users to have an even harder time.

Also, please accept my thanks for this great resource, it has helped more than any other website has helped me with any specific problem in the past. Its like an info/support group/ratings system/vendor info/etcetcetc all rolled into one.

Many Thanks,
Peter

Hi
I would like to see a new catagory called "E-cig accessories" where people could post things they have made themselves or found elsewhere to buy that can be used with our e-cigs. But not have it be a sales pitch...no vendors hawking their wares. Just members sharing there experiences and ideas about things that make it more enjoyable to vape.
For instance.....I found a company called Freedom Cases on the internet. All they sell is cases for e-cigs. I have never seen them mentioned here and don't know anything about them. I have not ordered from them yet but probably will. This is an item we all want and need. I also realized that several items that hard core writing pen collectors and makers use are perfectly suitable for e-cig use. Really cool stands and holders....classy leather pouches just big enough to hold one cig you can wear around your neck. Right now I am working on a couple of stands for myself and my husband that will hold the e-cig we are using and a couple of extra carts. They are sculpted put of poymere clay and will fit around a coffee cup. I am hoping to get some decent enough pictures out of my camera to post when I'm done. No...I have no plans to sell them....I just think they are cool and something anyone could make for themselves. Stuff like that :)

How about an OUTSIDE section where profanity isnt an issue? I've seen many forums and threads elsewhere, where people are open about the general use of swearing and four letter words. Its embarresing when I show the ECF to my friends sometimes, and get told that they would never join because they dont want their language to be babysat. Im never leaving the ECF, but thats a question I've been asked many times, and an option I've seen many say they would welcome. Uncensored speech.
I know why its censored here, and I know its to maintain civility and integrity. But certainly, many of us do not censor our words when talking. It would be nice if we could express ourselves in a natural way without fear of being banned for it. No biggie though.

takes a long time to find info and it isn't organized with sufficient clarity to use major threads. I tried using gogle advanced search and picked up a few answers but a simple search tool on site would be nice.

2. the notice at the top is too long and on extended visits i see it a bazillion times. can we get to the content a bit quicker?

Sub-domains are a good idea, and they could be set to redirect to those forums' categories. However, we cannot move the forums at all otherwise we lose all of our linkbacks, and they account for a lot of our traffic.

Also, forum categories can be collapsed.

A lot of forums do have karma, but on here it has been disabled, as it can result in flame wars and petty arguments over negative feedback.

SJ has made the rule that no profanity is allowed here. We have to respect that decision, and go with it.
This forum is so incredibly high-traffic and so split up into subforums (understandably) that the Today's Posts button seems the best way to review new postings. But what would really help would be another button--"Today's Threads" for efficiently finding the newly created threads.
I'll look into a mod which will allow this.

I thought of something that might help:

Archive older posts in their own sub-forum:

Once the posts have been on the boards for a certain amount of time, (i.e. 3 months, or whatever time frame is suitable) move them to the archives. Maybe it can be set up to do so automatically? The sub-forum could be cagetorized by subject. It would free up a large amount of space and may eliminate redundant information from the main board. Members could browse the archives for the information they need.

Put the Nun smiley with the rest of them on the main menu.

My 2 cents worth. :)
