You talking lifted pickup or big rig? Yes I do tune ups :p That's precisely one of the reasons I don't need a man ;) Guys go on and on about how cool it is until they find out you can do it. Or build an engine, switch one out ect. Then when a relationships starts there's lots of hurt pride especially if the woman does it better or knows more

Good thing I finally found a husband that loves and brags that I'm "smarter" than him. But it's also nice that he's better at making money and paying the bills on time, and making sure things around the house get fixed than I am. Power tools and ladders and paint rollers frighten me, lol!

I can drive truck, stick, and change oil and change out a flat tire. But I'm really not good with tools, or getting dirty. That's pretty close, lol! Side effect of being the only girl in a big family of supportive brothers and male adult figures. Beat 'em or join 'em.
WIN!
Well I can drive a truck, and I can shut it down in a 5 speed ... never did a tune up though, but I can learn, I can learn.

WIN!

and bonus points for you girls that can defend yourselves. there's no reason a woman needs to be helpless.

Thankfully I haven't run into that here.

Unfortunately I deal with quite a few men who do (or did) treat me differently due to the fact that I work in male dominated industry. I did a couple of years as a plumbing apprentice (only female apprentice at that time in my City), them I went to work at the wholesaler. Started in plumbing there, when I wanted to become more involved in the waterworks side of the business my boss told me the customers wouldn't deal with a chick. That only made me more determined and now I am the manager/outside sales.

It really is sad to see how many men there are out there that think women can't do things our gender.

I'll admit, I have a huge "girls smoking fetish". I've had it for as long as I can remember...I've always found something very sexy and sensual about a beautiful woman that smokes. Now that I'm no longer a smoker, that "fetish" has crossed over to women that vape. The only restriction I have about it...the woman has to actually smoke or vape...none of that fake stuff!

With that said, I've also never had a problem with a woman that can something better than me. My mother can do anything, so can my wife, and I've worked with numerous women that were good at most everything they did. Heck, one of the best mechanics I know is a girl.

The point is:
Any guy that looks at a girl as being less able to do anything is a guy that isn't worth a penny. Gender, as a restriction for being able to do something, is just stupid!

Oh, and before all you sexy vapor ladies start hitting me up for my digits...I'm happily married! :)

I didn't even need to read the rest, you are a Woman after my own heart! Atta girl! ... my spinning back kick could drop the best of em, and I enjoyed a nice shadow boxing style workout this just this past morning. :)

Oh my...I am jealous  I used to do some of the more aggressive styles. Kali, Karate, and a bit of kung fu. My joints were shot at the ripe old age of 26 lol. Switched over to Aikido about 8 years ago. It's pretty fun :) What style of kick boxing do you do?

All the male vapers I've met are more than happy to show me how to re-build coils as soon as I tell them I'm interested in it :)

I tried fiddling with a Kanger today, but it's way too small for me. But oddly I was watching a kayfun video and thought hey I could do THAT. If I wanted to spend that much on a tank I guess.

I work in IT and only have had two nimrods who had issues with my gender. I think its easy to dwell on a few bad experiences, and forget all the support one receives. I had nothing but positive experiences in the vaping world. Most of the people I know have less knowledge than me, and have no problem asking questions. The ones that do have knowledge, get excited to talk to another "person" they can talk shop with. I'm sure I'll met someone that is condensing, but people like that usually have other issues in life in general - no biggy.

As far using gender and sex in the industry, if it gets someone off of cigarettes then more power to them.

You should have seen the looks on peoples faces when my husband was in Iraq and our full sized pickup needed new tie rod ends. The mechanics all tried to rip me off with $600-$1000 estimates and making up other parts that needed fixed (some that didn't even EXIST!). So I went to the base's auto skills center, they ordered the part, loaned me the tools, and I...who had NEVER so much as changed a tire, changed those suckers out myself without even needing to have the wheels aligned again. There were certified mechanics there for questions, and muscle when I needed it. But I did it while they talked me through. I felt GREAT.

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
Try being an OLD female vaper. It's a blast.

These young bucks with all their geekiness and I come in with better gear than they have, or so they tell me.....lol And when I understand what they're saying and doing or give THEM tips on something it's even more fun.

I enjoy it very much in the local B & Ms. I guess I'm sort of an anomaly around here. :D

that is completely awesome. congratulations on embarking into what can be a very intimidating endeavor. moreso for completing the task. i know plenty of men who'd never do it. not that that means anything except for the context of current conversation, but nonetheless...

Don't ya love it? I was discussing tanks I like and tanks I don't at mine Saturday. I had my iClear 30 X.1 with me, and said I was disappointed because it was too airy, and there was no way to tighten the draw and other things. He thanked me for telling him so he could prioritize his ordering tailored to customer reviews. Didn't matter that I was a woman, just that I'm a vaper.

You'd be amazed at how easy it is to manipulate small objects precisely provided you can SEE what you're doing. That's why I got one of these before I even tried to rebuild anything:

Oh, I can most definitely defend myself, and I have had to many times in my life .. One thing that makes me madder than a male who assumes the weakness of a Woman, is a female who assumes her own. Because I hold "Woman" in such a high regard, I also hold her to higher standard than even Man.

And so it makes me smile to see the Women here show themselves in all their strength, intelligence, and glory. :) ... There's no Jewel rarer than a Woman.

I know they are tiny... I think I could do it though - have done a lot of jewelry making and beaded cross stitch embroidery LOL can't be harder than working with metallic thread

It's not so much my eyes as it is my hands. I just can't work well with tiny things. My wrist was in agony after that attempt. Something larger I'd have been ok with.

See I can't do that stuff either! my thumbs both have DeQuervains tendonitis. And while it isn't always a painful flare up, the dexterity is crap.

Muay Thai ... I love Muay Thai. I started out boxing, then I found Muay Thai about 7 years ago. Something about it being legal to throw knees and elbows drew me in ... seriously

And I feel ya on the injuries ;-) ... I have put my body through the ringer between bodybuilding, boxing, kickboxing, personal training, teaching American style kickboxing (for fitness), spin ... then after about four years of doing that part time, in addition to my full time career in Finance, and Law, I got the bright idea to return to my first love and passion which is Dance education full time. 200 students a year, 30 classes per week, five Regional, and one National competition a year ... my body hates me

Bakers cysts, herniated discs, a torn meniscus, and a pinched nerve in my shoulder ... But I am recovering from all, and very close to smashing comeback. At least that is how I've planned in my mind, God willing. :)

It sucks to be injured and sidelined, but damn, at least I have a lot to show for it.
