Few questions from a Newbie

Hi everyone, I am a first time user of e-cigarettes and I am hoping to get a few questions answered.

I am attempting to be an ex smoker who smokes about 1 pack of Marlboro Reds/day. I am trying to determine which model of mini (I think those are the ones that look like real cigarettes) smokes most like a real analog?

I currently have an automatic M401 and I am using 18 mg carts. I try smoking it like a traditional cigarette and each time I try and smoke the first 2 hits are great but after that the next few are hardly anything. Then I put the e-cigarette away and later when I smoke again it is the same thing. Is this normal or do I maybe have a bad atomizer?

I am using 18 mg carts and while the e-cig gets rid of my oral fixation nicely, my nicotine levels are nowhere near what they were and I am having withdrawl symptoms. I selected the mg amount from the “Wonderful World of vaping” posting, but this amount doesn’t seem to be doing it for me. What mg carts are sufficient for a Marlb Red pack/day smoker?

Thanks everyone!!

Thanks for the reply! I'm actually not sure how to use the liquid on its own. currently I am using pre-filled carts. Can you recommend any place where I could get the 510 with manual battery and 24 mg pre-filled carts?

I concur with cassavetes... The 510 would probably be the best fit for you!!! I do not know how much research you have put into this or how long you have been trying to quit but the best thing you can do for yourself at this point is....

1. Reveiw this sticky...http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...strated-guide-e-cigs-parts-1-through-6-a.html.. Lots of info here.

2. Next, there is a listing of all the different models in the drop down listing. You should take the time to go through those, as they all have individual reveiws and the basics. The e-liquid reveiws section has a lot of info in it, as well. If you go through there and put in the work to research it there... You will find the info on how to use the liquid, tips and tricks on your carts, and handling information to extend the life of the carts and atomizers.

3. There are a lot of venders associated with this site and they are also listed at the bottom of the drop down list. They maintain a repore with this forum, so you can be assured that you will be well taken care of. It would be in you best interest to pick three or four of them.. Research there sites and compare pricing. Just common sense, but we cannot tell you what is going o be best for you.. That is really something that trial and error will play a part in. E-liquid is very subjective to your own personal habits. You will have to play around with different mgs of nicotine to see where you fall and to be honest, the exact model of ecig that is going to fit your needs is really going to depend on what is most important, as well. some want that throat hit, others want that vapor cloud, and yet again, others want to have an exceptional taste from the hit. No e-cig exist that is going to give you everything that you want but there are several that you may find through personal choice which fit you best.

I wish you the best in your venture and hope you stick with it.
Thats my $0.02 worth, take it for what it is worth.

Thanks for the tip! I am going to place an order with them for the 24 mg eliquid. is the 510 you are referring to the joye510? How many carts does a bottle of eliquid last? how long does an empty cart last aka how many times can it be filled?

Sorry for all the questions I just want to be sure I get everything I need in one shot.

Thanks again everyone!

Also compare to Nhaler for their 510 kit their kit comes with 5 prefilled carts (18mg) but also 2 6ml sampler bottles of your choice (24mg or 12mg)..with coupon code (saveinnj) it's $49.30 shipped...usage varies but on average most vape an average of 1-2ml a day..I know that kit lasted me and my wife just short of 2 weeks before we had to order more juice..and other 6ml samplers from him are like $4 each so pretty economical to try different flavors

An empty cart will last pretty much indefinitely unless you chew on them..

I was in your shoes a little over a month ago - pack-a-day Marlboro Red 100s smoker with a 20+ year habit. My experience; bought plenty of supplies from cignot (several 501 kits, USB passthrough and some niquids that sounded appealing, including EcoPure Rich at 30mg, English Toffee at 26 mg, Vanilla at 25 mg). Alternated between smoking and vaping for one week; by the second week I was chain-vaping and grooving on the flavors, but hardly smoked at all; have now quit smoking altogether, and I didn't even intend to.

Everyone is a bit different; I've been suprised at how many people on the forums describe really severe, ongoing nic withdrawals, because I would have considered myself to be a pretty hardcore smoker. I think that individual psychology plays a big part. Personally, I give myself full permission to smoke a cigarette if I feel like it; I just haven't wanted to for the past two weeks, because vaping is so much more enjoyable. That kind of lifts the "quit or die!" pressure and I think it makes giving up cigarettes much easier and more natural.

Anyway, I suggest using a higher-level niquid and chain-vaping if that's what it takes. Once you're off the smokes, it gets much easier.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and new to vaping. Maybe someone can help me?

I have birds. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not it's safe to vape around pets? The vapor seems to hang in a air a bit and I wonder if it's harmful to them. For now I'm keeping a window open just in case.

Thanks!

Here's the only thread on it here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/27021-birds-vapor-harm.html

And see the caution on post#13 basically with any pets, wash your hands if you're handling, petting them - nicotine is a poison and it wouldn't take much of the liquid if they had it on them and were preening, but with the vapor doesn't seem to be a problem.

And Welcome to the forums!

If you were a Red's smoker (like me), then you were getting fairly concentrated NIC intake w/ analogs.

I did a 100% switch to vaping about a month ago.
I'm using 30-36mg NIC juice full time. I got so NIC buzzed night before last, I couldn't go to sleep for about an hour, after I initially wanted to!

Not having any cravings what-so-ever. I'm going to make the attempt to lower my vaping to 24mg in the near future, but not going to fight it. Don't want my brain to ever talk be back into analogs. If it takes me a couple of years, to get to low NIC juice, so be it.

I know a month of no analogs, I'm sleeping better, breathing better, my cardio at tennis is off the charts (I play tournament level). Food tastes better, my townhouse smells better, and my dog even seems happier! I have a ton more energy. (Amazing how analogs just drag your life down)..

So the trade off? Vaping is a different kind of NIC buzz. It's not the instant on/off like a light switch that an analog provides. I have confidence that big tobacco injects unknown substances into their products that both increase the way the nicotine enteres your system, but also gets out of your system. Afterall, the longer the buzz, the longer before your next analog? (Evil .......s! :)

Note to self: Try and stop vaping at least 30 minutes before bed time!

Good luck in your efforts!
