Do you write articles regularly for the examiner? And is it only online or can you get hard copies too? I noticed you were from Knoxville from another of your threads. Just curious if I can go pick up a copy or am limited to the web

Hey! Nice to run into someone else from Knoxville! Yes, I have been writing for Examiner since 2011 and have been writing other places around the web since 2008. Currently it's only online only.

@rothenbj Thank you for the compliment on the story; however, I have to disagree about my story remaining in Knoxville. This story is listed in Google News and is starting to spread around. The story I published a couple of days ago: Exclusive: Man found guilty of electronic cigarette law that does not exist - Knoxville Business | Examiner.com is one of the most popular stories on Examiner right now and has made it all around the country and I have faith this one will too. It is up to everyone in the vaping community to share this story with their friends on social networks and other places if they really care about what is happening in the media.

Yeah, this article is annoying. My in laws are posting it on facebook and they're already all anti-ecig to begin with.

I like the rebuttal but sort of feel that you missed an opportunity to completely slam them for having the nerve to suggest gum and cherry flavored candy (lozenges) aren't just as dangerous and even more appealing to kids.

The fact that they even try to compare the two shows they have just been lapping up the pharmaceutical kool-aid.

I believe there are documented cases of people dying from the patch as well.

I'm sure by now everyone has had a chance to read the crap that was reported by the NY Times today. I get so tired of seeing media abuse their power to report misleading stories. It is irresponsible reporting and we should not just lay down and take it. I just finished writing a news article ripping the NY Times article apart and would like to get some feedback on it if possible: E-Cigarette industry being unfairly attacked over availability of E-Liquid - Knoxville Business | Examiner.com

Nicely done! thank you for fighting the good fight. and thanks to The Examiner for publishing it.

Thank you for the feedback. I felt that I was maybe already pushing it a little bit with my editors and did not want to take it too far. My main goal was to get the story published and get it picked up by Google News. I will be publishing a story later this week on the very issue you are referring to, so be on the lookout! Thanks again for your support!

Well I will have to read that then. If there is a silver lining in all this, it's that this is the best they can come up with. They have completely failed to prove that ecigs are actually harmful from normal use so they are resulting to scare tactics with "freak accidents" as the huge impending doom on us all.

It's quite funny since you could write the same article about pretty much any substance. Freak accidents have happened for things such as someone drinking too much water. I guess the problem is most people are idiots and have no idea how to think for themselves.

Read your last article as well and now this one. Both of them were nicely written. Keep up the great work and I/we will try to spread it in my/our circles.

Gutfeld on Fox's RedEye went against the 'story' with how many things in a house can be dangerous and how it's the parent's responsibility, etc. etc. Andy Levy brought up how he 'didn't know it could be absorbed through the skin' and how that may be a factor. Greg responded 'well, that's how patches work' lol... Pretty much discounted all the buzz on it. Greg said a '300% increase from 2012 to 2013 - that just means there were 2 in 2012 and 6 in 2013' :)

So the 'line of the week' last few weeks was 'gateway'. This week 'poison'. Anyone want to predict what will be next? There was one 'heart incident' - perhaps more of that.....??? Impotence? brain cancer? incontinence? Causes conspiracy theories?
