Been playing with my AGA T2 for a few days now...

Ran through about a foot or so of wire.

Had to oxidize the wick enough that the seam was starting to flake off - no steel left, just scale. Finally not shorting out though!

Went through about a foot of wire. It's all I had, but after recycling my last coil sized bit a few times, I managed to get a wick and coil to work together.

After all that - I'm a bit disappointed with the vape! The vapor production is impressive - no question. However, the throat hit is less than I thought it should be. Also, the flavor... Well... The flavor isn't all I thought it would be either.

I know I can index my air intake to increase the TH, and I'm hoping the flavor is due to the new-ish juice I'm trying (sounded really promising, but so far tastes more like flower petals than pineapple mango smoothie).

The bottom three wraps on my coil glow if I hold the fire button down. Not like a hot -spot- so much as a hot lower end of the coil... Any good ideas on how to fix that?

Also - sometimes (rarely) the vape is horrid - like the worst driest carto you've never wanted to hit. Nothing looks visibly wrong, but it tastes like I'm burning the juice instead of evaporating it. Any clues?

Here is how I set up.
Cut your. Mesh about 2-3". Torch it briefly .....move the mesh around and only torch a few seconds in each area. Fold over 1/16" or so on what will be the outer edge. Start rolling it without a center hole and roll it snug. Test it in the wick hole. Should drop right in with a small gap around it. Run the rolled wick through the torch briefly. You want it to glow dark orange. OK now get your kanthal and cut off a section. Run this through a lighter flame. You can do the coil directly on the wick or by wrapping it around an object similar in size as the wick. I like to use the business end of a thin screwdriver. I wrap my wraps then slide the screwdriver in the hole. Pull the kanthal snug and connect it to the negative and positive. You can pretty up the coil if you want. With the device on low voltage or a mechanical with a low battery take out the screwdriver and pulse the coil. I heat and cool a couple of times as it toughens the coil and stabilizes it. Now try your wick. You want the wick to slide in easily....but not fall in. If wick too loose just take it out and roll it in the reverse of how you rolled it the first time. Keep testing the wick until is slides in easily.

Take a vape on another device and take a deep breath.

Don't start over keep working with what we have going on here.

OK with a metal screwdriver and low voltage (or weak battery) pulse the coil. You will probably have a orange top coil. Now start tinkering with the coil below the orange. Tap it, nudge it until it glows, keep working your way down poking the coils while firing. Once the all glow (I never worry about the lazy bottom coil) pulse it a couple of times to admire my work.
Fill with juice and relax. In a few minutes it will be delicious.

The wick and coil are not as fragile as we think.

Don't over oxidize ...black wick is not good....dark grey or brown is good.
No need to quench or do juice burns
