The first thing I can suggest, from the threads I've read, is making sure the adapter isn't too tight on the top of the Protege.

There are times when that can mess up how the switch and assembly work and/or make electrical contact. Casey indicated loosening the adapter a wee bit to see if that solves it.

One item I noticed on mine, but did not affect me, was how tight the whole switch assembly fit into the tube. I could see if that got 'stuck' lower down the tube to where the batt and cap spring couldn't push it up a bit, you'd not make contact to the (+) on the adapter and thus, the atty. $0.02

As for customer support, you'll get tons of it from Casey & Cash for sure!!!

Hope you get it cookin' soon.

It is a fluke, if he fiddles around with it enough i think he will be able to get it working. I have every PS product they have made, and have had no issues.

Did i have to assemble/reassemble, tighten/loosen, mess around with some stuff to get some of it to work??? Absolutely.

This thread started out on the wrong foot, " ill keep you guys updated on how good their customer service is" what is that, is this a test? No, its PS's board, send them a ticket, and they will take care of your problem, don't come on the board at the first sign of trouble, and start this crap. I have had zero issues with them and have ordered from them for about a year, so there you go.

So that is how you define "zero issues"?
Well Gary fun put aside  I have to second that! Why should some one that spends hard earned $ have to wiggle fiddle or what ever to get a perfectly new product to work:mad: I won't mention which mod :thumb:But they are all tested and then shipped:p:evil: And we don't even need a video on how to screw on our attys:rolleyes: O i feel a bashing coming

oh geez come on,

Its a mod, there are connection points that are always going to take some finagling, the prodigy has 5 connection points, the protege 4, there you go. New or not, you will have to get used to it, that's all there is to it.

It really does suck that some new to the products are having trouble, but how bout this.

1. Submit a ticket
2. if you would like to get some help on the boards, ask for it, don't' come on the boards with, "its not working, i submitted a ticket, and will let you know how the customer service is", thats BS.

Just my take.

Okay, lets clarify, zero issues that weren't just a twist of the wrist to fix....better?

A move in the right direction, but no. Since Dennis (who is a jerk but in this case correct lol) spilled the beans on the mod that immediately came to mind, look in that 577 page thread to see what "zero issues" means. To me they vape almost the same with "zero issues" being the difference. To be clear I'm not disposing of the Protege or it anytime soon.

Haha, well, a lot of people did actually, after a couple of failed attempts at trying to screw their atty's all the way down to the bottom of the adapter, and tearing them apart.

Just wait til this s*** happens to you while you're driving.
heh, it could happen, wouldn't be too hard to twist the end here or there to get it to work again. Hasn't been an issue since i fixed my spring really.

Unless you have forgotten most of us used to have to light cigarettes while we are driving, so fiddling around with an adapter, or battery cap= not too shabby.

With all due respect to you I totally disagree with this post. These mods cost a pretty penny and on top of that having to wait for it to come may make a person a bit anxious. Maybe I am asking for too much but when I buy something new I expect it to work without having to mess with it. As for being a test I personally like to hear from members that have problems with prods and if and how the problem was resolved it may save me some hard earned cash not buying a pos. I am glad you have been happy with this vendor but I definetly don't fault this member for being unhappy his purchase doesn't work.

I like hearing that as well, but not if its already obvious that he is probably not gonna be happy unless Steve goes back in time, and makes sure that his Protege works the first time he attempts to use it.

Do you have it working yet btw???

Ah, I can light a cigarette while I'm driving... I can't take off a battery cap and adapter, push the batteries to raise the contact slightly and then screw everything back together... more than once... while driving :)

I've never heard of these kinds of issues with a certain "Silver" device of similar performance.

Besides, I don't have those problems with my Prodigy anymore. Apparently removing the resistor is the solution.
To each his own. Glad you got your issue fixed, or fixed your issue rather.

Has the guy that started this post got his stuff working yet?

Okay, back on target,

1. did you insert your battery correctly? haha, i actually did this on my first attempt of putting the prot. together, yes i admit it it, dang! In my defense These batteries are tricky in that the positive end looks a lot like the negative end, which i knew, but just got too excited, haha.
2. tighten your adapter all the way down, then, unscrew it about 1/2 to 1 complete turn.
3. try another atty
4. try another battery.

Thats about all you can do on your end, i think. You could do some other stuff with a multimeter, but a lot of people don't have those on hand.
