I gave up analogs for 3 months and slipped over Xmas, now I can't seem to get back to full time vaping, I've been trying since January with no joy, I am doing both at the moment and I would say its very much a 50/50 split between analogs and vaping but I want to get to vaping 100% full time. Have you ever slipped? if so how did you get back on track?

I wasn't able to do it until I started dripping with a higher nic content. From 18 to 24. I wish I had some higher than 24, but it seems to be enough to get by.

I couldn't do it with carts. That burned plastic smell/taste was terrible and to prevent it I was refilling more often than I drip. Pain in the .....

I try to be proactive and vape ahead of the cravings so they don't win.

I still find that I need a few drops of higher nic on occasion.

dj9928 It sort of sounds like you don't believe it but, I think you are back to square one. Do what you did to go to vaping in the first place and expect the same level of effort.

It might help to tell you what I did. For cigarettes put youself on a schedule maybe four times a day at specific times. In between vape all you want. When you have the cigarettes, don't be doing anything else. No sitting at the computer, no watching TV, no socializing with your buddies in the smoking area, etc. Take notice of how they taste and make you feel. If you're like me after a few weeks, you'll find you aren't really looking forward to those cigarettes anymore. Then start cutting back. Eventually it'll be fairly easy to leave them behind.

A higher nic level might help while your doing this.

My suggestion is to have the system that is the least hassle for you. One the draws as effortlessly as possible, doesn't require filling/topping off, and has a good voltage and ohm combination. When I first started, that is what I discovered very quickly. I went through a couple different systems until I found that I don't like carto's, but like tanks (less mess). Now I'm very satisfied with a REO Grand (bottom feed) with a Cisco 1.5 Ohm atty with Boba's Bounty (100% VG) with 2 drops of menthol per 6Ml. I wished I would have just bout the REO 1st. But I learned allot along the way. And even have a Provari expected in the mailbox monday. So vaping is very good for me today, and I chain vape. I hope you find your groove.

The last time I just threw myself into it, no analogs, I think this is what I am gonna have to do tomorrow, have the pv beside my bed when I wake and start vaping straight away, sicken myself first thing in the morning should avoid the temptation for an analog, the first cig in the morning is my downfall.

That's the proper technique. My habit was 35 years old and 3 PAD. The day I started, I vaped, and vaped, and vaped 24mg..... Next thing I knew it was 8 or 9 hours later and bedtime and I hadn't lit an analog. Next morning, I vaped before my eyes were fully opened. By that time I usually had chain-smoked two analogs. I kept vaping throughout the day and vaped so much that I got dizzy a couple times. But I never smoked an analog again.

It helped that I did this on a weekend when I had no distractions like work. Set aside 2 days to fully commit to vaping so you can vape as much as you can stand. I think that was key in my case.

BTW, I started with a little wimpy 510, so you don't necessarily need a vapor monster. Just make sure you have plenty of batteries. Nothing will drive you back to analogs like a dead battery with nothing to back it up.

I am feeling your pain. I slipped up the Thankgiving Eve before last after almost 5 weeks vaping exclusively the first time I quit. Was just going to have that pack..yeah right...was back on analogs full time in a matter of weeks. The old addict thinking I can just do analogs now when I want and control them. Sad.

Back to my 2-2.5 PAD habit of 35 + years. Smoked analogs exclusively until the beginning of November, 2011. Started vaping again on November 2, 2011, my fella's birthday as a present to him and to myself as an early Chrsitmas present, he has never smoked and been after me to try again since I started the analogs again.

It is MUCH more difficult the second time I found. After a few false starts and a lot of holiday excuses, I really have been concentrating on weaning myself gradually off analogs. It has taken 5 weeks to get to this almost 6 day vaping victory I am now fragilely at times, holding on to.

I have found it helpful to at first congratulate yourself for the analogs you have not smoked rather than the ones you have smoked as you try to be a vaper again.

And it is okay to be human, and I know the frustration and yes, jealousy of reading all the posts about how people quit on their first vape, how some have no cravings at all afterwards and the smell of analogs disgusts them now. I try to remember that everyone's experiences are different and I am glad it has been so easy for so many, wish I was among them but I am not.

Finally on March 15 I ran out of analogs. Was down to one or two a day and had been that way for a couple of weeks. Did not buy another pack, because I felt I was far enough along to stop and if I kept buying them I would give myself the excuse to smoke for another week. When it is right for you you will know it.

Also decided to spend the money I was going to spend at a local Library book sale (books are my passion) as a reward to myself. Since I made the commitment too I purchased a new set up (my Ego is 2 years old and not going gang busters) as a reward for 2 days free. Hopefully that will help.

So far so good for at 3:30 PM today will be 6 days analog-free. But there have been many times the last few days that were extremely difficult for me. Now I keep reminding myself how long it took to get these precious free days and what a shame it would be to throw them away with a puff. It is a process, but I remind myself constantly how well worth it it will be when I succeed.

You can do it if I can. Just take your time and be good to yourself.

Dj, what flavors do you normally vape? Make sure to mix them up because I lose motivation some times if I get bored with a flavor.

DJ, that was one of my first thoughts. Vaping allows us to enjoy so many different flavors, not just the same damn one all the time. Think of all the possibilities: wintergreen, spearmint, peppermint, lemon, green apple, strawberry, watermelon, menthol, pear, peach, bubble gum, life savers, atomic fireball, clove ciggy, any tobacco flavor (menthol or otherwise) - naturally, the list is virtually endless. And any level of nicotine you want, at any time. Heavier in the morning and through the day, lighter at night if you want, whatever floats your boat.

The very first thought was to make sure you've got a good rig that gives you as much of the pleasure that PV's are capable of giving. WV2win is right that eGo batts are only 3.4 volts; I just measured mine with a voltmeter. (3.41, but who's counting). Look at the e-power (3.7 volt?) 510-style PV's that can obviously take just about any "attachment" known to the vaposphere: Boge 2.0 ohm cartomizer, Joye eGo-C 3-piece atomizer and tanks, Mom and Pop's Submarine Tank with a low-res cartomizer, a dripping atomizer with drip tip, clearomizers, you name it. Or go ahead and step up to a Provari VV (variable voltage) PV/mod/"power source" that will take the replaceable lithium ion batteries and let you choose whatever voltage you want between 2.9 and 6 volts, and rock any attachment on the planet, regardless of resistance. Yeah, they're $160 - the cost of 20 packs of analogs here in CT.

If that was too much info, you couldn't go too far wrong just getting a Joyetech/Ovale eGo-C starter kit, just for a learning experience. They're reliable and satisfying IMO, although I'm probably about to gravitate toward the e-power and then the Provari.

Lastly: don't put pressure on yourself. Just KEEP VAPING and let the analogs go away naturally; I'm pretty damn sure they will. If you want to smoke one, smoke one. I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE analogs, and now I simply don't want one. Haven't had a puff of one in 7 months.

I used to say that if there was a heaven (which i doubt very much), I'd be fine if all you needed to ingest was Coca-Cola and cigarettes. Now, if I found myself in front of the Pearly Gates and was offered a choice of an eternity of cigarettes or an eternity of vaping, it would be the latter, in a (healthy) heartbeat.

Like I said, just keep vaping, on a good setup, with flavors that you love, and I'll bet you a hundred bucks that the stinkies will go away.

I think about Half the people here have "Slipped".

I you want to vape 100% of the time. I mean Really Want To. Then you have to Grit your Teeth and Throw the Analogs away.

The first week is bad but you can Do It.

That is, If you Want To.

Well I have currently got to day 3, furthest I've got since I quit the last time, A dose of 24mg before I get out of bed seems to be doing the trick.

As for what flavour I vape I generally just stick to tobacco flavour, nothing actually tastes like it should when using cartomisers anyway so I just stick to plain old tobacco which again doesn't actually taste like tobacco

Congratulations on day 3!!!! :toast:

Just made it to day 6 myself. Longest I have went since my last attempt.

I vape at 24 mg but had a bottle of 36 mg at the beginning when I started weaning off. I am still looking for a tobacco that I really like and is consistently good for me. Thought I would want tobaccos when I started out but have tried many flavors mostly sweet and use them mainly.

I seemed to have missed the cartomiser/tank evolution during my time away from vaping so I still use the standard fiber filled cartridges. Too confusing to me and I am trying to keep it simple as I can right now for myself.

Good Luck to you on Day 4....I will be cheering you on from what I hope will be day 7 for me! :)
