I finally got around to mixing up my first batch of unflavored e-liquid. I am vaping it as we speak and I loving it. Has a clean, refreshing taste....slightly sweet. Nice. 50/50 pg/vg...12 mg/ml nicotine. I want to thanks my friends at KP for helping me out. I should have done this weeks ago.

50/50/12 is exactly how i make my unflavored too. Don't vape it all the time but i enjoy it when i do ! Sometimes i add a few drops of flavored in a tank too.

I posted this in an Unflavored thread yesterday...

I have used Unflavored Off and On over the Years. Just never got into it.

Recently I got an Idea.

What would happen if I put a Few Drops of Sucralose in some Unflavored. It wouldn't so much be Flavored. Just a tad of Sweetness to Give it Something.

So I tried it. And know... It Isn't that Bad.

I have Also been Experimenting with "Flavored Wicks". That is when you put a Fresh Wick in, that you Prime it with a Regular Flavored e-Liquid, but then fill that Tank with Unflavored.

I am Amazed how 5 or 6 Drops of Regular e-Liquid on a New Wick can give a couple of Tanks worth of Unflavored a Hit of Flavor (HOF). And how that Hint of Flavor is enough to Hold my Interest.

I also like that I am Reducing my Flavoring intake. Which I Can't See as being a Bad Thing.

I know it's wild isn't it? I wish I started with unflavored three years ago.....so much better than chasing flavor after flavor! I'm very happy with unflavored.

Just switched to unflavored (with menthol), and DIY myself a couple weeks ago. I mix an 75vg/25pg 6mg and it is now my ADV. Once I finish off the 300ml of flavored I have, I don't see myself worrying and flavors anymore. Once we know more about the flavorings we are using I may add some to mine, but for now the benefit just doesn't out-weigh the unknown. PG/VG/nic/menthol is fine for me, menthol was always a must add to my flavored juices anyway, which were always fruits/lemonades.

For those of you newly trying unflavored in e.g. a 50/50 pg/vg blend, then I would recommend to also try out e.g. 80/20 vg/water. As said before many times by many, unflavored isn't flavorless, and so you can really change up the flavor profile by playing around with the ratios, and e.g. ditching pg entirelly. For me 50/50 isn't bad, but without pg the flavor just gets much improved...

Btw, i've read up alittle about the difference in percieved taste, and it seems that many people cannot detect specific bitter flavors, so i'm thinking that this is the reason many people state that pg has no flavor, when to me(and a few others) it's very much a bitter sweetness and alcoholic taste it brings to the table, although it's masked pretty good by flavoring imho...

Unflavored is a recipe all by itself imho, where you can tweak the flavor profile to your liking.

Of course, the more nic you use, the more nic taste will impart the end result i.e. a woddy/nutty/damp-tobacco'y taste/smell, unless the nic of course is too clean tasting. Also there can be a slight nose/tongue sting(i.e. pepper - it's not a taste, but a feel!) to make known it's there.

Vg adds a slight naturally tasting sweetness like a mild honney and pg adds a bitter sweetness much resembling alcohol imho.

These are the components we can play around with to alter the resulting "unflavored" flavor profile :)

Apologies in advance to the more seasoned members here, which knows everything said above in there sleep allready, but just to make some notes to the more newer people not as seassoned in these things :)

When I tried water in excess of 15% all my tanks/clearos made popping sounds, so I used lower percentage of water (about 10-15%)

Cool! I've only tried my adv of 80/20 vg/water in 4 rta's and nothing else and it works great there... However, I have to adjust the wattage somewhat down with such recipe, because as the boiling point is highly reduced, then I can have the same evaporation-level(boiling-rate) with lower power, but I like it, as it's great for battery-life imho :)

I recently started using unflavored also. Using it mostly while at work, then hit the flavored diys in the evening (until I have those used up) I'm making a 10 ml bottle each evening for the next day. I put a drop or two of mint in it. I don't use up all 10ml, but it's close. Work about 13 hrs a day. Dual coils sub ohm eats the juice quick ! 20pg/80vg and about 10 drops of my 24 nic base and then a drop or two of mint. Perfect !
