Very sharp Ryan! :thumb:

So it's not a 5 volt with a regulator and batteries connected in series.... but it's a 3.7 volt with the batteries connected in parallel.... enabling them to last twice as long.... ?...... very nice!\

Yeah, to me 3.7v on a Joye 510 is enough for my tastes especially when current isn't a problem.

The batteries are protected so I believe they will turn off when getting low..? <-- this was the thing I was confused about with mods until I read protected batteries are protected on both the high and low end,. So hopefully won't have to worry about over draining them : )

Parallel batteries are good not only for addded capacity, but they'll actually run a bit hotter (the atty, not the batteries themselves) and the batteries should suffer less wear and tear as well. Atomizers actually demand more current than a single battery is designed to supply, which is why you don't get nearly as many recharges from one as the manufacturers claim. By running in two batteries in parallel, you spread out the amp draw, so each battery only has to "work" half as hard. The atty gets all the amps it wants, and the batteries live longer. If you don't mind the size of a 2-battery mod like this (and are happy with 3.7V), it really is the ideal configuration.

I like the recessed atty too. I went with RCA connectors before adapters were available. Now I think I will settle on a connector and switch back to recessed. I can't seem to settle on a favorite atomizer.:p:p

Hey, I'm glad someone noticed. Kind of like a tornado/ego type of thing.

I actually got the (box) idea from Dreams' thread. Here's the link if you're looking for more ideas for this nice solid box.

Fascinating info Candre, thank you for posting it. Going to have to build me one of these!

Great.... now the need for even more 3 "AA" boxes. Oh my.

Thank you for letting me know Ryan.... it's so good to know I've inspired someone else when I have benefitted so much from others inspiring me! :)
