The center screw did appear a bit loose but not enough to seem like that was the issue. I will build it again around 1 just to be on the safer side. Do my coils look too low to the deck? And is there too much cotton? (Both ideas that were previously mentioned) This is only my 2nd rda and I am still in the learning phase. Thanks again for any help!

edit: the Tobh Atty has 3 air holes on each side and I keep them positioned directly facing the coils.

I've heard of people shaving/sanding (LIGHTLY) on the insulators to get the center post screw more bite into the center post itself, helping with the loose center post issue. I don't know how the conductivity is with a loose center post and whether or not it affects the vape, but it can't be helping.

I can't tell if your coils are too low, but I usually try to build so that the center line of the horizontal coil is directly facing the air hole (or "midpoint" of the three holes in your case).

It doesn't really look like too much cotton.

When you first built the coils, did you do a test fire to see if they were heating evenly? If you've got one cold coil and one "hot" coil, it could be throwing things off a bit.

My guess would be you have too much airflow. With all three holes open on both sides and a .6 ohm coil, you could have an ample amount of airflow to the point where the vapor can't keep up. I'd block one hole on each side and then even two if that doesn't solve your problem. Past that I don't really know what to tell you. I know that for me unless I'm below about .4 ohms I have to cover at least one airhole to get a dense enough vape to satisfy me.

Minimal cotton works best for maximum airflow and more vapor, but will make it a warmer vape, and having to drip more often. So for me I would say you have way too much cotton.

Other problems: Your coils are bent, and aren't all touching and aren't leveled with each other, one of your coils is higher than the other and look slanted or crooked.

It also looks like your coils are being blocked by the tab on the deck for the AFC, you want to keep your coils open.

For height of the coils, take your cap and place it level to where it would sit if it was on and line your coils up with the airholes. If you're building with higher sub ohms or 1 ohm too much airflow will kill vapor production.

The tobh is tricky to build properly, the best way is the have the coils raised quite a bit and tilted at a 45 degree angle.

See a previous post about why they look bent. ;) I had heard that and tried it, but it didn't help much.

An update though... Last night I rebuilt the coils (with wire again, not ribbon, so I could try to reduce possible reasons) and still had the same "mehhhh" results. I changed the 510 adapter to the semi hybrid adapter, and installed the magnets to replace the spring.... and now WOW!! Apparently something wasn't connecting as good as it should have been and all is well!!

Of course thank you everyone for the advice!! Many of these I hadn't thought of and I will employ them right away! :D:vapor: :D

Im glad its working for you now!

One tid bit, when installing the coils, it helps to keep the coil on what you wrapped it on, to help make adjustments and keeping it the same shape and keep it from warping. (you may be doing this already but thought I would share just incase)

This is my first dual coil, and I have always kept it on the drill bit until it was screwed down, so I guess now I need to dig around and find a second drill bit for duals! ;) I did slide the bit back in and adjust after tightening down since I only had one this time. I know the coils in the picture look mangled, but I swear they were straight and tight beforehand. This was after some adjusting and tinkering at work where the only thing I had that would fit in the coil was a paperclip. Not the most precise tool in the toolbox I assume! :D

Sounds like a case of 510 interface problem.

Good thing you had the option for hybrid mode!

I am too! As I mentioned, I ordered this just to get a mech mod for starters and wanted it short. So of course I ordered the hybrid piece. I got the magnets because everyone seems to have different opinions of magnets vs spring, so if I had both, I could make up my own mind. :D And magnets it is! That spring sucks. lol

Can you post the link for the hybrid piece?
I don't understand how you got that tobh to fit in hybrid mode.

You had to have gotton an adapter that goes 510F to nemesis, in which case that means ANY 510 topper would work hybrid on the nemesis with that adapter!

Yes, any 510 will fit with this.

I had heard that some Nemi clones had a different threading and that it may not work, but for a little over $2 I figured I would try and see. It worked!

gaah! ft has it in the kayfun section but not in the nemesis section; i'd never have guessed it was a universal adapter.

I still dont' get how it works?
the big piece would have to thread onto the nemesis tube but how would the atty attach?

The center hole is threaded to fit on the 510 from the RDA. I just hand tightened it onto the Tobh so when I unscrew it to charge the battery, the adapter comes out too. I will post pictures tonight when I get home. It is slightly taller than a 15ml juice bottle :D

edit: as for all the extra parts, not needed for the Nemi.

err ok, so the key issue seems to be the center pin on the atty needs to stick out, preferably a lot.

Honestly with the Nemi 510 piece in place, I had to unscrew the center pin quite a bit. With this piece, I had to screw it back in flush!

You had to screw the centerpin on the tobh in flush??

You do realise that puts you closer to a BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTT, short, right?
