By the way, you should turn off the volt meter if you do not use it, this kind of volt meter will drain your battery too.

I don't know if this is possible on these boards. How would you suggest?

there is a switch on the board i have to turn the meter on and off as well as change the display from the in voltage to the out voltage.

and as i said later in the thread, i had the wires mixed up as i was re-wiring it a lot to try and figure out what was wrong. but that was not the issue, when i had them mixed up it would not turn on at all.

If you attached the wire to false positive, I afraid that the board is faulty. buy a new one.
