Hello ECF.

I've been a regular on the /r/electronic_cigarette sub-Reddit for the past (almost) 2 months (started vaping/quit smoking thanks to them) and decided it was time to get involved with this community as well. I'm currently running a Twist/510 atomizer setup, and while it has/is served(ing) me very, very well, I'm interested in stepping up to a mod with much higher battery life, variable voltage, and perhaps even variable wattage. Unfortunately, I have the tendency to drop things from time to time (I know I'm not alone), which brings us to my question:

Aside from the obvious durable, high cost mods, such as Provaris and mechanical mods, what moderately priced (~$50-120) mods would you recommend that could withstand the occasional drop onto a hard surface?

It may be slightly more thank you want to spend but the Bombshell Stinger (Hotvapes) with a kick would be a great choice. It takes a huge 26500 battery (that will last a few days) and the kick is a variable wattage insert, the bombshell stinger has a nice integrd yet removable cradle for it. The stinger is built tough and will have no problem handling drops on concrete.

I've seen posts from several people indicating that their VAMOs have survived some very nasty drops. It's heavy and built like a tank.

That said, some of the survivability is the luck of the draw on how a mod lands as to whether it knocks something loose in the electronics. If you decide on the VAMO replace the battery spring with this one, HeliX hot spring. Some of the VAMOs have shipped with springs that have a high resistance which causes the spring and battery cap to get hot—a very bad thing.

I would suggest something mechanical if you know you're going to be hard on it just because there is less to break. With anything VV/VW you have to not only worry about the mod itself but the electronics inside of it. I used a PureSmoker Prodigy for quite a while and it stood up to quite a beating in that time. They do not make that model anymore but they do make the Legacy which is a mechanical mod under 90 bucks. And if you're set on VV/VW you can use a Kick in it. Worth looking into IMO. And grats on the switch to e-cigs! :D

I've heard of the Kick before, but never really knew what it did. I just looked it up and wow, this opens up a slew of possibilities. Anyways, the Stinger certainly looks interesting, but MASSIVE. Do any of you know the dimensions? Edit: 4.5"x1". Not too bad.

As for the Vamo, that's what I've been leaning towards for a while now. It's good to know that it's durable. Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
