First Solo build...

So I've been using a kayfun lite for the past couple of months but I have been getting the coils built at the B&M by the owner that I frequent despite having all of the supplies to do it myself. I kept saying there is no reason to have him doing but he is consistent and I knew how it was gonna tape if he did it. Today I said the hell with it and built one myself. Its 28 gauge Kanthal, 8 wraps @ 1.2ohms. Its no where as tight as I would like and is a little ugly and its not as good as what I am used to but its my very first and it fires and gives a decent amount of vapor. I guess my cherry has been popped lol

Seriously though. Not a bad build for your first. Did you attempt to dry fire it and squeeze the coils together before wicking it?

LOL just noticed the pics... I did dry fire and squeeze them but I couldn't get them any closer. I have 100 feet on the way so I'll probably just sit around and practice a bit.

Congrats on the first build.

Torch the wire first, wrap it, torch it again between tweezers, and install. Fire and one last squeeze and your set.

That's my standard KFL build at 1.2 ohms. I use a 5/65, sounds like you using a 1/16.

Overall looks good for fist build.

Thanks… It was 1/16th… Its like I've been bit by the bug. The coil has only been on there a fay and I'm already itching to build another one.
