Hi to all .
Maybe I am unusual but I stopped smoking quite a while ago (5 years) I have always missed it but never want to go back to the dangerous smelly days of conventional cigs . I have been temped for a while to try an ecig . A few days ago I bought a 2 Nicolites non re chargeable . I think at first I used it the wrong way . I pulled hard at it and got little satisfaction . However since finding that a longer gentle pull works far better I have REALLY enjoyed vaping . I need now to get something better and longer lasting . Just buying these Nicolites is going to be very expensive . Should I be looking at pens or similar . I am afraid that if I just go into the shop with no knowledge , they will sell me something not suitable for their own benefit . I need something that will be equivalent to about 8 to 10 a day of normal cigs . I do need the nicotine type . I am using high strength 16mg at the moment . Looking online I seem to get the impression that the pens do not use Nicotine . Is this right ?
It all does seem very confusing so any help would be great . I don't want to get the wrong product for my needs .
I must say I am quite thrilled at the idea of getting into vaping . I am really look forward to it .
I hear on the news that already they want to ban their use in pubs and cafes etc !!!! Are we allowed to breathe ? We do exhale CO2 , so maybe we should stop breathing as well . Why not just ban everything that people enjoy ????
Best wishes to all .
Thomas :)

Welcome Thomas granada to ECF. Many like the Vision Spinner or EGO's. You'll need a topper tho that's something easy. Mini Aspire Nautilus w/BVC ( coil ) is getting great reviews....you add e-liquid to the tank. If you have a Brick and Mortar store I would pop in and look around....see what they have and be able to look and hold it.

Good Luck to You...Happy Vaping!!!

Proper vaping device is made of two parts: atomizer and battery. There are different types of both. I suggest you start with a clearomizer (short for clear tank atomizer) like EVOD Glass, Aerotank Mini or Aspire Nautilus Mini and some battery with voltage and wattage control like Innokin iTaste vv vw v3 or my personal favourite iTaste MVP. You will also need to buy some spare coil heads for atomizer, because they loose their heating properties over time.

As for e liquid, you should try lower nicotine lever with proper atomizer - the more effective it is, the faster you will get your dose.

Welcome to the forum!

Honestly, if you were to walk into any store and ask for the manager, explain your situation, as well as express your intent to buy, he will have no choice but to treat you with the utmost amount of respect.. No matter the question. A business is a business and customer service is their top priority.

I recommend getting a starter kit that go for about fifty bucks. Also, I cannot stress this enough: READ, READ, READ. You must be a sponge to e-cigarette knowledge. The more you learn, the better off you are. Then you can move on to bigger, better things if you wished. Hope this helped!

Thomas granada, Welcome to ECF!

There's lots of veteran members here whom can assist you in starting & take the guesswork out, saving you money & at the same time you have a great vaping experience. A good, but not cheap starter kit may be good for you, but not one with a 650mAh battery. 1100mAh at a minimum & preferably a 1300mAh one, or a Spinner, that's going to be my next ego purchase.

Great post & information by Susan-S above!

Though I have a mod (an Astro clone), actually prefer the egos better. I guess because I have troubles with my hands & too the mod isn't what I thought it would be. Everyone has preferences, for me, it's the ego's, but there are some really good ones at good prices. You just have to look, or have someone who knows how to look to assist. Some Spinners are selling for as low as $25 on eBay, you just have to review feedback, read negatives to know you're getting from a good source.

So far, I've had better luck with vaping gear than computer accessories on eBay. All of my vaping equipment has been great & it's where I buy all of my coils.

Having more than one flavor helps too, to keep you into the experience. Maybe this doesn't happen with everyone, but some will grow tired of the same vape day after day & is why I have 5 flavors on hand. Not that it happened overnight, I started with 2 & expanded. Mt Baker Vapor has great deals, you can get 10% off with the "vaporfrombaker" discount. Making two 30ml bottles a little over $17, some vendors wants that for one.

We're rooting for you & are here for you when needed. Just let us know should you have questions or whatever. Too, there's a wealth of information on the forum, some that has greatly assisted me & many others. Like battery care. No matter if you get an ego device or a mod, to get the most life out of the battery, you'll have to take care of it. Avoid short charging, and on the first charge of an ego device, leave it on extra. The first charge is the most important one. Don't place it on the charger too much, run it down before recharge.

Eventually, you'll have two devices & that will be even better.

Good Luck!

All the Best,
Cat

Hi and welcome! The very very best kit for a beginner in my opinion is the mvp2. It has a long battery life, it's well made, it has variable volts and watts so you can customize your vaping expirence to how you like it. Most who start with a ego type soon move up to the mvp2 and if you start with the mvp2 it can save you the money of soon wanting to move up. It's a great kit that will give you a wonderful experience. I can not say enough great things about this unit. I promise you you will not regret getting the mvp2. And you will completely enjoy it!!!

Thanks for the recommendation of the mvp2, realsis!

Does this device work with all tanks that will attach to ego batteries? Such as the KangerTech ProTank ll & minis, the DPure Puritank, well, all of those that I use on my larger ego battery. I believe these are all 510 threaded.

I have a couple of the iClear16 tanks, don't really care about the top coil ones. Not enough delivery.

Have an Astro clone, not too impressed. Some likes this style of mod, it's just not for me.

Exactly my situation. I started with the eGo twist and went quickly to the MVP 2.0. I still have my eGo for 'just in case' but I use my MVP and now my Vamo V5 exclusively. Just started using the aspire nautilus mini with the bvc coil and I'm loving it!

First off, congrats on being off analogs for 5+ years. My first suggestion would be to NOT start vaping unless you absolutely feel you are going to relapse and fall back onto analogs. If that's the case, then there are many setups that will help, but I would also recommend (since 5 years is such a long time) that you don't resubmit yourself to nicotine addiction. If you are missing the social and physical aspects of smoking and you are confident that it's not going away, stick with 0mg nicotine juice. You've been off of nicotine for 5+ years...there's no reason to reintroduce it to your body...

The MVP wiil work equally well with either a 510 threaded topper or eGo threaded one. It has the threading to fit either.

p.s. Welcome to ECF!! :toast:

Thanks for the answer to that, Stosh.

My first anniversary for not being a smoker is just 3 months away. Can't afford a REO, but this is well within range.

Hope that this is a good, long lasting, device. Good to see it comes with a battery, hopefully replaceable for when the time comes.

BTW, that's a cool avatar :)

And Thanks for the Welcome!

I also started Vaping just shy of my 5-year nicotine-free anniversary. I agree that I probably should have started Vaping without nicotine, but I couldn't help myself, lol.
I don't ever want to smell like an ashtray ever again, so I won't switch to analogs. But I'm having a hard time finding a good clearomizer to give me the best vape. I love Volcano's Tube Tank. I also have a Davide and a Davide Mini, but I can't get enough vapor out of them.
I also love sweet juices, but I still have found the "magic" one.
Lots of stuff to learn, this forum really is awesome.

+1 for the MVP 2
They are really cheapthese days if you look around, but you get sooo much for your money. I'v tried the MVP, but do not own one yet...it;s in the mail.
Just as "finelines" did, I too started at an eGo Twist and have just put my order in for an MVP. Don;t get me wrong, really enjoying my eGo, just wanted to explore.

Do more reading around the forum and extend your base knowledge. This will help you drastically, but do not fret with the amount of options and info it is hard to get overwhelmed and confused....from my experience people in the community are very helpful and willing to share ideas and give advice.

If you go see a vendor, more then likely they will try and help you out as much as they can and only sell you something you will be happy with. ....a happy customer is more then likely a returning customer :)
