Sure no problem...we were assured all of our CE2-X's would be fat wicked as we did very much have a direct impact on having these in a fat wick pre-burned condition. I and Chris, especially, worked hard on that and RS even gave us credit on their site for that...and for the most part, I want to cut them some slack. The only ones that we have had any feedback on NOT beign fatwicked were the XL BLACK 3.0-3.2.

On the coils: No, they are supposed to be same raw material and manufacturing process. If they changed either of these this was not told to us.

thx danno. i'm relieved about that. my son took some delrin and lexan tube to work to make me a map tank. if it works out i have enough raw materials to make several for friends too, so the quality of CE2's is a biggie for me. I'll write off the dry burned blowouts as a couple duds in the pack.

yes the clearos are cheap and i consider that, but i also consider all the juice that ended up on my PV, in my pocket from them falling apart. that's a big expense. lol and heartache if it's a special juice.

i'll watch for the next delivery from PS feedback to see if they have finally weeded out their old stock. I'm really looking forward to your tube with a bulge at the coil that you mentioned about a month ago. I look to your you guys for the innovations. I was actually surprised that you got some of the left overs in their stock. i figured they'd be good to you ;)

credo, i apologize. i thought your comment was flippant when i was just stating what someone else had posted about the cost efficiency of CE2's versus atomizers. greenhouseone.com has a 5 pack of 510 bridgeless atties for 15. with a warranty. Most of us old timers know where to get volume pricing. in that respect your post sounded rude to me like ce2's were a golden bargain or something lol.

Glad I saw this about the coils. I did have one (I haven't checked them all yet) dud in the black ones I ordered. Is there anything I can do with it to coax it into working? I'm not really worried about it, just wondering.

Look at the bottom where it screws into the battery.
Is the center post missing or pushed in a little too far?

That has to make contact with the center post in your battery connecter.

Out of many boxes of CE2s...I've only ever had one that the coils would not fire up, and the little button was missing. Shoving a bit of dry solder in there (where I knew it wouldn't accidently short out the battery when I screwed it on) fixed it for me.

I also had one where the button worked in too far. That was my fault...as it happened when I was trying to mod it. If that's the case...carefully push down on the inner workings of the CE2 from the top to see if you can push it down a bit. When I say inner workings, I mean the ceramic cap and post....avoid touching the coil as you don't want to break it.

Also, visually inspect the little wires...there should be two inside there. Compare it to a good CE2. Occasionally the machines that build these things missfire or run out of materials and the wires will be missing, broken, or just not soldered properly. It is possible to fix that if you have a soldering iron, but probaly not worth the trouble.

My last message went poof, so a fast re-cap.

Received my new order of black XL's, 2.8 ohm, new version. Installed into my MAP tank with no issues at all. Working incredibly well. Very happy. Would highly recommend.

Thank you for hand checking my order, and hooking me up due to my last order's issues.

Great service!

That might be it. It doesn't want to thread on nicely, maybe it's not getting all the way in there. I will check those things out when I get a chance. It's a metal one, so if it's the soldering then I'm SOL. Thank you!

I don't know if it's worth the bother to you...but the metal ones will come apart.

Shan did a great video about burning the wicks (supposedly no longer needed since they claim to use a different sterilization process). Here's the links:

Just wanted to give a quick praise on my clearos CE2-X 2.6 ohm.

I've had them for 10 days now. I've only used 2 which I switch out when one is dry. I use them almost constantly! About every 4/5 fills I pull the tube, rinse in hot water, dry, dry burn, scrap off atty crude and reassemble. Currently only using GotVapes G-bear juice. I have had NO issues with cracking, leaking, etc. After the cleaning, they vape good as new. I don't know what I am doing "right" other than being gentle, but they are my new favorites.

Only bad comments I have, and these are the 1% of 1% issues I see, are:
The wicks started fraying at the atty cup. No biggy, there meant to be disposable.
I don't really care about "seeing" my juice levels, more about easy of cleaning. In fact after the second/third fill the juice is caramelized to the point to make it unsightly. Can the SS versions get the O-Ring/silicone ring on the bottom for tube removal? Seems that would correct any cracking.

Otherwise, working good!

If they fray to the point they aren't wicking good and you care to milk a little more life from them...snip'um off leaving enough to make contact with some PTB material between the wick stubs and the sleeve. It does have to be the pyramid nylon type tea bags...not paper ones.

For me it's easier just to toss and get a new one at this point...but if you're in a bind and CE2s are out of stock (which does happen sometimes) it's nice to know :)

No kidding! Nice to see business is booming, but come on!

Good tip. Will keep it in mind. Be great if the wicks were replaceable.

No kidding...it happened to me once...well, I did finally find some more after a while of searching and settling for a different resistence than the ones I really wanted...I over paid for them too, but was happy to get them :)

BTW...the HV guys claim they almost have to do this mod to get it to wick fast enough for the amount of abuse they put on them.

I find that at about 5 watts, that would be about 3.6 volts on a 2.6 ohm carto the fat wicks will keep up till the carto is about half full. At that point I have to start tipping the battery to keep the coil wet. At least that's an improvement over the metal CE2 r4's.

I ordered ten and five have already cracked and come apart. I replaced one plastic tube with an Old SS tube and that seems to be working well. On a another one I grounded out the tiny cracks on the mouthpiece end and put the coil in through that end. I'll have to see how that works out. I had these about a week now. I use CE2s most of the time so none of this was unexpected and I'm not writing this to complain. I get more than my moneys worth from these.

Well, upon further inspection of my dud. The threaded part is 1-2 mm shorter than the others. I don't think there is a fix for that, but it's good to know I can pirate the tube for future use. Now I'm wondering if I can do that with the used old polyfil cartos I have. It would be awesome to be able to switch out clear and metal tubes for the juices that do, and don't melt the plastic.

Hey guys, I just wanted to stop by and thank Dan and Chris for putting the CE2-X on the market!

I have been searching high and low for a mod that wicks fast enough, holds enough juice and lets me see the juice level. The CE2-X has finally delivered exactly what I've been searching for! It is as close to a cartomizer or dripping on an atty that I've ever been able to get!

I've built tons of mods from syringes to genesis trying to get what the CE2-X has finally been able to do. I could not be happier with the results. And as an added bonus, I got to check out the green version instead of the clears I originally ordered when the site was acting up. They are really cool and I probably wouldn't have tried them on my own. Great call guys, thanks for not holding the order.

I'm loving the CE2-X!!!

I have to chime in on the CE2-X as well. These things rock! I got the 3.5/3.6 version to run at 6v and they work awesome! I've been using them for a week now and I haven't had an issue with burning. The taste and vapor production is phenomenal. Now I have to change my pg/vg ratios because I don't need 50/50 to get a satisfactory vape from filler carto's. Great job on these. I plan to do a 3ml syringe mod on these very soon to have a more durable tube. There is a slight wicking issue when the 'X' is at the halfway point but a quick tilt solves that. I plan to try a couple tricks I read here to improve on that, overall it's not a big deal to me. CE2-X is vape CEX!
