Good report my friend, appreciate you went into some detail, very valuable info, thanks.

Got my CE2-X's yesterday, too. Would have had them on Saturday, but the mail lady screwed up and didn't deliver them. Been waiting for a good amount of use to comment. I had tried CE-2 when they first came out and they were a big fail on my juices. Even with PTB mods, removing the cup, etc., it just would never wick right.

Well, the CE2-X changed all that. Working great right out of the box. On thicker juices, pulling up the cup and wicks a hair makes it wick perfect. I can vape back to back and it doesn't dry out. And I've been able to vape the entire carto dry every time with consistent wicking and vaping. Only when the carto is almost completely empty do I need to let it be for a little while to wick between vapes. I've been using 3.0 ohm CE2-X's at 4.8V without any wicking issues.

Also, so far, flavor is staying very nice and consistent even after several refills over 2 days with a dark juice that I consider an atty and carto killer (flavor gets messed up even after cleaning attys and cartos start tasting bad even with top offs, both after only a few days). That's been my quest for a few months now, trying different tanks, dripping, etc. to find something that would give me consistent flavor and work well consistently after standard cartos weren't doing it for me any more. I liked the tanks, but found they required "readjustment" in the foam with every new atty and half the time wouldn't flow well if the atty bridge wasn't "just so," especially with thicker juices. I've tried my thick, killing juice in two different CE2-X's so far with consistent results and little to no effort to get them going, so that's a huge plus.

Been using anodized aluminum drip tips and they fit well without cracking the tubes. For the CE2-X's where I lift the cups and wick, I remove the extra washer and let the drip tip push the cup down to the right height. No leaks, even with my PV sitting on its side or angled upside down for long periods.

All in all, thus far, I have to say great job to GotVapes on the new wicks. I already ordered some XL's at 2.6 to 2.8 Ohm to try out. I'm still going to try the Vortex when they come in, but for now I think I finally found something that's going to work for me after a lot of trying different setups. Congratulations on a great product!

My CE2-X's arrived yesterday. Big red gum nectar juice promptly caramelized and scorched in one after 1/2 a tank. I had no difficulty tearing it down and cleaning it. It is refilled this morning with the new iced orange nectar and both the juice and cart are performing flawlessly, loads of vapor, great taste, no browning or scorching.

EDIT: I like the new cup plugs/fill rings, they are a slightly looser fit and are much easier to get in and out.

Could you elaborate on the "tear down" and cleaning?

The browning and scorching is happening to me. Being my first Clear carto, I assumed it was normal. Your statement concludes otherwise. I loaded some G-Bear juice in and went to town. When the juice browned I clean it (soak/swish in vodka with wicks pulled out) but the browning returned. I vape it with all the plugs out and just my d-tip.

I myself don't do a tear down and feel it isn't necessary (but don't begrudge those who get best results that way)...

All I do is simply lift up about 2-3 mm ob both sides on the fill ring right where the wick inter the cup and that's it...

The Black XL listed as a CE-2 X (3.0-3.2) is what I ordered, and it appears to be identical to the standard rev4's. I cut the first one open (for modding), and sure enough it has the dual thin looped wicks in it.

The Black CE-2 X is supposed to be the same style as the new clearomizers, correct? I'm not sure if I should open any more in the box or not. I know another well known site was getting mixed shipments, where some boxes had some of the new version, and some of the rev4 in the same box (for non-clearos).

Has anyone received Black CE-2's in the new style?

I'm kind of disappointed, considering I paid more than another site sells rev 4's for, specifically to try the new version.

Should I cut more of them, to see if the whole box is rev4?

/Just to note, I double checked the receipt, and it definitely states that it should be a CE2-X, and the post here seems to list the black ones in with the clearos, as being the new style.

//EDIT: I checked the PRD and EXP codes on the side, and they're identical to rev4's, from another non-fluxomizer branded company, if that matters.

Is browning/scorching normal?

slappy....I've noticed the coil does get brown after a few days, but is easily remedied by taking it apart and running under hot water, reassemblying, and doing a few dry burns until coil looks normal again (it will burn RED...then you know it's clean)! This will remedy any scorch taste as well. If it tastes like it's burning, flip over for 2 or 3 seconds to allow the juice to saturate the wick...should be ok after this.

I'm pretty happy with the performance, love not having to top off a cart all the time, one thing Ive encountered that could be a big negative is durability related, been using two out of my order of 10 CE2-X clear 510 XL 2.6-2.8 ohms, have tried being careful screwing on to the ol'pv, but one tube has cracked at the connection, and looks like the other is developing fissures..hope is not an issue, just ordered some HV XL and Reg size 510's.... though really like them aside from that, if this tube cracking 'round the battery connection is ongoing, just will not be cost effective for me, if cannot get full coil life out of em because of it, or shave to shell out coin for replacement tubes and shipping.... maybe I over tightened, or something but should not be that delicate imo..wonder if the SS ones are the same... wonder if anyone else has encountered clear tube problems around the battery connection? Is it solely due to over torquing or ?????

The best way to avoid any tube stress is to not screw the ce2-x onto the device, hold the ce2-x by the base and screw the device onto the ce2-x, this will save any wear and tear to the base, we also have replacement tubes in stock to keep the ce2-x alive after your tube is trashed and we will have the thicker ones in a week or so as well.

Prole..

Yeah.. I got the same situation with 2 of mine. NOT from over-torquing. I woke up one morning, and noticed juice leaking, so I quickly washed and inspected them. The cracks were at the base, and I hold them on the base to put them on. I store them upright and that's where the juice collects. Luckily I had ordered some replacement tubes from another vendor. I replaced the tubes and they've been holding up for the last 2 days with at least one washing/cleaning session for both of them.

If I look at the big picture: it seems cost-effective to me. A 5 pack of Ce2s for anywhere between 10 and 13 dollars compared to 5 atties @ anywhere between 7 to 10 bucks each. Unless I'm missing some big sale on atties somewhere? The replacement tubes were 2.50 for a pack of 5.

Cool, wish I had thought to add a tube or two to my second ce2-x order I placed earlier today, but just noticed not long ago, when looked at the hex copper standing upright, almost all the juice from a full XL leaking down it heh.... then I took a peek at the other run an noted what looked like fine fissures forming... the hex copper may not be a viable pv for theses as the connection on it turns freely and may be near impossible to not stress the tube with it... will you guys be posting in this thread when the new thicker tubes are in?

yes for sure, we are having them looking into the tube to base situation, we clearly dont ever want them to use glue so its pressed on by hand and thats it, so they will try to test a few new ways to get it on withoutht stressing it so no cracks form, this isnt a issue with all of them so this tells us its how they apply them to the base as being the issue and it will be looked into heavily.

Until a issue is given we offer replacement tubes available on our site for the time being and will inform everyone of further updates to solve this minor issue. We are getting there slowly but surely, the feedback on performance has been outstanding this time around so we are getting closer with each run. once we solve the tube to base issue these should be at a point where everyone is mainly satisfied.

I pay 4.99 ea for slb 510 and 901 attys, so far all those have lasted weeks if not a months, and if the bad taste issue I encountered is resolved with another supplier I ordered 10 pack bulk attys... worked to a hair over 4 bucks each.. and they last just as long. as the others... maybe not... I did really dig going hours on a single ce2-x though :)

Getting this fixed would be great, I did exercise more care connecting em, and did not think I was to rough, though might of been.... they have worked really well imo on all other fronts, I do not expect them to last as long as my standard atomisers.. but if the leaks developing around the base renders them a lifespan of a mere couple days, then requiring tube replacement... idk, wish I ordered tubes with my new order earlier today, hope this minor issue get remedied, as they work great...thicker walled tubes may be all they need... as like I raved a couple times already love the way they vape, and not having to top off all the time...am a heavy vapor here, kicked what ended up as a 3-4 pack a day analog habit a couple years ago with ecigs... my nicotine monkey latched onto my back, is prob still on the same nic diet, w/o all the other bad stuff I was also inhaling...
