Wow! I was happy before, but after reading this, I moved the coil a little towards the edge, and bam! Awesome flavor! Damned if you boys ain't right again. You guys rock!
My 2nd, an sl/lp, arrived yesterday. I also ordered one of them there fancy schmancy 4.0 atomics for it. I'm going to need to rethink this thing now. I finally get the beauty and simplicity of the rm2. Hmmmm.....

Glad you got it! I knew it had to be something simple with the rm2. Those things are just awesome!
To me it also looks like your coil is just a little too high in the pic. It could just be the angle it was taken at, but the coil should be in line with the air hole also so the air flows under and over the coil...
Replaced coil and wick this morning, moved to outer edge, right in line with air hole, same muted flavor. With KF i can almost taste every ingredient in CB, very muted with RM2.
Personally....and I know this goes against all that is holy....I think micro coils + cotton mute flavors and are more hassle than they're worth.

I use the Rob endorsed "Ugly coils" and get loads of flavor, less squonking and no changing the wick every day...just a rinse and dry burn every couple days.
As it happens, just last night I decided to give micro coils another chance....it was going OK with my DK Tab flavoring, but loaded up some Vanilla Custard this morning and the flavor was just not there. Wrapped up another Ugly Coil and all is well.

I've got two semi gnarly looking 14 gauge ID coils in a dual coil setup and it vapes killer. I think that wicking is required to get the juice to the coil like it is on this modded RDA, a little extra girth and shorter coil seems to be the easiest way for me. But I just started messing with duals

Nice coil and good position. Shoot for a .9 to 1.1 ohm range and see if it will pick it up.
I run 8 wraps of 28ga around a 1/16 drill bit for a .97/1 ohm coil. 9 wraps is just over 1.1ohm
an ugly coil is basically a coil where the wires do not touch each other. Basically just a quick hand wrap around the wick and go coil.
Also be sure your cotton is not getting choked off. I do not use cotton but I have read other post that say too much will mute the flavor as well.

Great responses from all! As an added suggestion, try wrapping a parallel coil and getting it right at the edge of the deck and on the air hole (without touching). At around .4 with 26 gauge and Koh-Gen-Do, I experienced true bliss!
Want to thank everyone for the help and advice, Rat2Chat2 thanks for the kind words and pretty toes pic! After leaving it at home today and trying again after work i can tell a difference in it with coil closer to edge of deck.
