Ha Ha here's me dusting off both of them beauties. Funny how we eventually move away from an atty, mod or whatever we once so adored....seeking the new best thing .
TBH, I think we vapers are a rather spoiled bunch :p
But yeah, both the Hadaly and Entheon is incredible RDAs. The hype was real over both of them.
TBH I could never made up my mind which I liked more. The flavor for me is similar. The Entheon though do have a smoother draw.
Good info about the airflow. The build quality on the Shenray Hadaly is very good. The only other clones I've bought in a long time have been SXK and YTFK - both normally fine but this has smoother threads/ better engravings (of stolen brand name!! ;))

I think it really depends on the RDA and how one uses it. I have been running a 4mm parallel triple core fused clapton build in my B2K, and it has been quite nice. I don't get unexpected dry hits or anything (I only use rayon if that matters). I have been running it on a dual battery mech (parallel), but use over 2 squonk bottles full before swapping batteries. Overall, it's been a wonderful experience for me.
well, i had not luck at all, but with 3.5 and 3mm ones i have gotten the best results, never gone back to try 4mm ones, but you are right, is matter of usage and rda as well, my mistake to generalize.

I run 4mm single flat wire builds in my B2Ks and they work quite nicely under TC on a single cell DNA 75. Flat wire heats up much quicker than fused claptons do and covers the same surface area.

i use this one, seems flat for me lolx (bad joke)

and also:
coilology_quad-core_fused_clapton_ni80_wire_2_.jpg

the last one, is pretty fast heater, ramp ups pretty quick, also lasts quite bit,

i wonder if you mean this flat ribbon:

that onw is hard to fin locally in my country, gotta order online, i have used some prebuilt flat ribbon coils, they are insane looking coils but i didn't found that big difference over the regular claptons and other wire types,

View attachment 849225 These are the ones I use currently. There are many more sizes and materials available. I see Fasttech also do them. Best is to use Steam Engine to calculate your preference.
interesting source, interesting wire,

21ga is a serious piece of wire, I would avoid those on single cell mods. Would be a nice dual coil setup on a mod with some power though.

Wow. Entheon on list! I'm not sure if I got lucky with a great build/power setting first off (we've all done that right?) or it's just an amazing RDA but this is seriously up there with the strongest flavour I've ever got from this juice. Killer Kustard's been my main all day vape for a few years and I know it well. Almost too much flavour.
Our very own @Sloth Tonight has an excellent video on the Entheon.

Great RDA. I still use it sometimes. I've taken a liking to the Flave 22 and Boomstick Reaper lately as well, the latter is probably my favorite at the moment.

Nope - there's some tips in the yftk riviera RDTA product thread. Using silicone earring backs may do the trick:

I've got plenty, plus a few pod refill plugs. Just will need to plug the hole from the tank side.

Ah, I'm confuse. What has to be plugged to use it in squonk mode? The fill from the top?

Skunk!

For flavor my top choices are the GR1, Venna, and KRMA for restricted and the B2K for an open DL.

Worthy mentions go to the recurve, nudge 22, and entheon.
Have you tried the Nova frim Gas Mods? I like it better than the GR1. It has a threaded 810 but a 510 fits inside. The top cap os metal on it but it doesn't get too hot.

I agree with you on the flavor from the Hadaly being excellent. That being said, with newer RDA designs are dealing with some of the issues the hadaly has. Airflow and juice well being the main ones that come to mind.

I've noticed a lot of condensation and juice build up in the top cap and a slightly noisy airflow. Flavour still knocking me out every vape

I sure have. I really like it too, just keep forgetting to mention it. It's a little more forgiving on coil placement than the GR1 as well, so I really should be recommending it a bit more.

any specific wire gauge to pair with a mech and single coil and single 18650 setup?
Sorry I never really got on with single coil builds on a mech, all of mine are dual in the 0.14 +/- ohm range. I could never get the vape I liked with a single coil build on a mech.

I would imagine there are other single coil mech users here that could offer build choices.

I'm a flavor chaser, not a cloud chaser, so I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for or not. I run 24GA Kanthal round wire, spaced coil, 3mm, 4/5 wrap, ~.5 Ohms, rayon wick. Works for me. As far as flat wire, still need to get some. @AngeNZ runs flat wire, maybe she will offer some advice.

I use 26 gauge simple round Kanthal 5 or 6 wraps spaced, 3mm ID - can't go wrong with it..

I bought some Ni80 Clapton coils, pre made .6 ohm from AsModus but for me its hitting a little too hard (YMMV) so I've bought some MTL Ni80 Clapton wire (30x2/40) from FT, just got it in but haven't tried it yet though, I'm hopeful that will work a touch better for me with a couple extra wraps thrown on..

it's just experimenting somewhat to find your personal happy place.. I'm just determined to get the perfect Clapton wire for me..(and the SS Clapton wire that I use on regulated mods isn't quite right for a single battery mech..)

Only if you vape standing on your head like @AngeNZ doeso_O
If you keep it upright like I do with mine you don't need to plug the fill hole.
You don't need to plug any holes up when squonking:D

I know what you mean. It's tricky for sure cause the single coil resistance is always nearly too high for a decent DL vape. I find the fast ramp up time of ni80 combined with an atty that likes 2.5mm or 3mm max diameter coils works best for me

It squonks perfectly well as it comes. But there's a big fillhole in the deck:

It's a 3mm id. When the RDTA is on its side - juice will leak out this hole ;)

I stuck in a silicone earring back today from the bottom of the deck, and it's working like a charm. I'll take some pics next time I rewick.

    This is what I used:

Edited to add: Everyone with a Riviera needs to try vaping while doing a head stand ;)

All those Northern Hemisphere vapers are vaping upside down anyway
