Does anyone have any experience with taking a Chuck or Chucks on Southwest Airlines?

My girlfriend is flying to Tennessee to visit her family in March and she is worried about taking her Chucks in a carry on bag. She really doesn't want to leave them here because she wants to let her mom try them and maybe get her interested in her own Chuck.

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

<---this person flew to Vegas n back with TWO Chucks ;)

Take the battery out and store seperately, I carried on a backpack..Put battery in a lil side pocket, Chuck w/out atty and batt in another side pocket. Went thru xray machine w/out a blink :D
Be sure to have her carry one of Jeffs cards with her, just in case. The card will show its legit, and she can "let them keep it" if they are intrigued. I ended up leaving with zero cards by end of trip, left w/about 5...but I got NO flack from airport n plane staff...it was the casino dealers that was intrigued....one's wife uses a 510 and he thought mine was cool...not sure but he sounded like he wanted to get his wife one so shed stop nagging him to buy more kits bc the batts didnt last long enough :)

I'm flying the middle of March to Germany then on to Egypt and back. Good to know that Chuck will be able to accompany me. I had to order another Chuck so I would'nt be stuck in case something went wrong with the first. I'll leave the second one in my checked baggage, just in case. Also ordered another 5 batteries and dual voltage charger.

Yep, me and Charles are off to see the world!!!! (Okay, I've already been once, but that was BC) LOL

I tried it last time I flew. The passenger beside me fell asleep so I just palmed my 510 and blew the vapor down my shirt. No smell and no smoke so no one seemed to notice or care. I didn't chain vape though, just a hit here and there so it wasn't noticeable.

I did get some funny looks when I went to the smoking lounge and pulled out the little chuck while my co-worker was smoking analogs. I beat some other guy blowing smoke rings though. I was glad I had some high voltage juice for heavy vapor!

Southwest airlines specifically prohibits e-cigs in their safety sheet in the back of the seat. They have a picture of a cigarette with negative and positive on each side with a big red slash over it.

I was bummed but had no issue bringing it in my carry-on bag and brought one tiny bottle of liquid with me in my pocket which I had to put separately in the bin.

I had about 6 attys and 6 batteries and a lot of carts in my carry on inside of a small camera bag. They didn't say anything about it.

I did pack the chargers and my PCC in my checked baggage.

That's a bummer, but the beauty of an e-cig is nobody has to know you are using it ;) I am of the thinking that unless I'm told to stop doing something, then it's allowed. :p And if they are not aware that I'm doing it, then that's not going to happen.

Also, I have doubts that vapor would set off the bathroom smoke detectors on a plane. IDK Anyone tested it???

you know, I was thinking the same thing as I took a few puffs here and there but then thought "What if I get caught and get fined" eek.

This is his girlfriend.... So I am flying southwest.... What I am getting from what you said is you can carry them on the plane, but you are not allowed to use them on flight... Is that right? I dont want to end up having to leave them behind.. Dont want to pick up smoking again for a week. So Southwest does allow them on the plane but not allowed to use them?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

I'm guessing you could use them. Just as long as you don't look the pic in your avatar while you do it. Like I said before (sign or no sign), I'm using mine til they tell me I can't. And to do that, they would have to know I was doing it. I have become quite good at stealth vaping. I'm like a ninja.

Forgive me, I'm still in awe of my brand new Chuck but this thing is 7 1/2 inches long with the (801) atomizer and cartridge. How in the world could you possibly stealth vape that anywhere, much less in the sardine-can quarters of an airplane?

I'm just asking because I'm curious. My upcoming flight is only about 2 hours long so I'm not too concerned about holding out. When I was still smoking and lived in San Francisco and traveled to New York, it was much worse.

Sorry, I didn't mean stealth vape my chuck on a plane. Especially not the big one with an 801 on it (that's like a small bo-staff ). That's one of those rare occasions where I would throw a couple KR8's in my pocket (Well, KR808 batts with GC cartos. I don't care for the 808 cartos at all.)

Stealth vaping with the chuck usually has to be done where nobody has a line of sight on it. Like with your back turned to others, or around a corner, or in a dark movie theater, restroom stall, etc. I suppose I could do it on a plane with a chuckif I had the window seat. Just turn your head toward the window like you're looking out and vape from the side. An 801 on a big chuck puts out a ton of vapor though. So you might want to 'downsize' for the flight.

Since we're on the subject of stealth, I have found that the best method is to take a hit, hold it for 10 seconds or so. (that part everyone seems to agree on). But then I hear a lot of people say that they blow it out slowly. I do just the opposite. I blow it in a fast, tight stream. Like I am trying to blow out a candles on a cake that's 10 feet away(only in a downward direction). I find that the smaller the hole in the lips and the faster I blow, the less visible it is. Blowing out this way, you really don't even need to hold it in.

Exactly!

Just keep them in your carry-on when you go through security.

Ah, thanks. Obviously, I misunderstood you. :D
