Usually takes 3 days for tracking to show in the system .. sometimes sooner if your package ends up on the "right" truck. ;-)

Yeah, I've noticed. Getting accustomed to this china shipping stuff quickly.

More good news, Taifun has passed through USPS sort facility in San Francisco today. Vela set should get to Cali in the next couple days as well.

Yup anyone who is new to ordering to China usually suffers some anxiety with their first order, until you get a hang of their "shipping flow" .. Your Taifun is making good time, so hopefully you will see that one this week. I hear they can be a little slow in San Francisco sometimes.

Did you do EUB/EMS or Hong Kong Post for your order?

I think I did EMS for all but the Aqua, which was HKP, but it might be opposite :?: Don't remember.

The Taifun shipped the day after the Aqua, so I'm not surprised it's one day behind.

ETA: the time in transit is interesting. The Aqua was one day between processed through the EMS sort facility and arriving in San Fran. The Taifun was 4 days.

Those are very good times .. I usually have 5 to 8 days from EMS to NYC where my Epackets arrive ... sounds like your Aqua was on the right truck and plane. California is closer to China though ... Now lets hope San Francisco doesn't drag it out.

When HKP is on point, they tend to be a little faster than EMS ... when I used them I had an 8 days total transit time, from acceptance to delivery at my door. But EMS can be fast too, I did have one 7 day delivery via EMS.

FYI, I love my Taifun GT paired with the new Vela. :)

Aqua has already departed the SF facility, I can only assume the Taifun will follow it tomorrow :vapor:.

I guess i never going to build that bloody coils. Now for 3 last weeks i'm buying a torch. I'm craftier and tools are very important to me, quality of the tool 70% of success in result. So... Question for an experts, what that torching processes needed for. Some reviewers for RBA/RDA builds do not use torch and just mess with a coil by hitting it with mod, but with mesh it's always multiple torch burns bla-bla... I'm not gona get out for next week for sure, can i build good functioning coil without torch? or better get a dam thing and then give it a shot?

The torch isn't necessary and can even hinder creating a microcoil.

When you heat Kanthal it goes through a chemical reaction that creates oxidation layers, if you wrap your unheated microcoil and pulse it on your mod then tweeze it together it actually begins to stick together.

If you torch the Kanthal before wrapping it prematurely creates the oxidation layers and hinders the coil from sticking together.

Thank you so much for fast answer.

Technically if i burn coil with just lighter to the point it get red and creates that layer, or hit it with mod-power let it cool then "mess", or "mess" with hot but do not let them touch - i'm good?

PS
All this give me bad ideas, just take meter of coil and poke it in plug, and clean connection part before installation... n-da

The best way is to wrap the coil tight as possible, put on atomizer, pulse until it turns red, squeeze it together while still hot but not while pressing the fire button...pulse and squeeze while hot...repeat until tight and heating from center.

Thank you so much!

The purpose of torching before wrapping is to make your coil less springy. Some people do it to oxidize the coil.

As far as after the coil is built I sometimes use my mod to pulse; sometimes I just hold it between needle nose pliers and torch. Either way only takes a few sec.

Don't over think it. The 1st coil you do might seem a little intimidating. By the 2nd you'll think nothing of it.
Follow what 54 said. You WILL do just fine.

Torching has two purposes ... burning off dirt and oils, and stiffening your wire to make it easier to work it, as it has a natural spring to it. I don't use a torch, I use a barbeque lighter, or my stove

I go over the wire once to reduce the spring, then I wrap and install .. and additional torching comes from test firing the coils. I don't think that excessive torching is necessary however, I do burn/torch the wire once prior to wrapping, which I do find makes it easier for the wire to keep its shape once wrapped ... but that's it.
