I use 30 gauge and although it is a PITA it works just fine. Why every rba does not use the post with the holes in them is beyond me.

Good to know Crocky, as I will eventually have to go there ... I was happy to be that lazy in that moment. I was like hmm, let me give this pre made factory coil a whirl, and lo and behold, it is not bad at all, I was shocked. Being that I use mostly xc116 and cotton these days, I just knew I was going to hate the silica, but nope. :)

I really, really like this KFL, and somehow the flavor production on it is better than my 3.1 ...

I had to go back & see who posted this. Must have been someone playing games with my mind.
I'm trying to imagine you not using your Taifun.

Nikki when you get a chance, could I please bother you to take a HD or up close photo of the deck, so we (I) can see what you're talking about with the screws. I'm wondering if getting different screws would fix the issue, or if it will forever be hard to build.

Considering the hell I have rebuilding Triton tanks I'm sure I could get used to it, I just wanted a pic to analyze.

Oh and I found the KFL posts with the thread search, in that post a few pages ago I meant i couldn't find anything about the Vision Spinners for him, thanks though :D

So true ... but I cannot lie, I have not put this Kayfun Lite down since I got it. I have even been using it a bit more than my Taifun GT too. I would honestly put these two on equal ground as far overall performance, flavor and vapor production. Both the Taifun GT and this particular Kayfun Lite perform better than my Kayfun 3.1. The 3.1 is good, just not as good. :)

I think Nikki is just messing with our heads. After she made sure everyone got the Taivela combo, a few pages back she started the propaganda on the Kayfun turtle (power) ship combo. Kowabunga dude!

Edit: lmfao on the word censor.

 ... Hey, I still love my Taivela now, that will not change! But I have found an equal amount of love for this Turtlefun too. :p ... Right now, these are my two favorite set ups ... operative phrase being "right now", because at the end of the day its all relative. ;-)

Kowa....a ... Ay dios

Dayum , why did'nt I see this before I rebuilt the Kayfun today? I could have taken more pics :( ... I was just going to dry burn and refill, but that darn silica looked so jainky, I decided to rebuild it with ecowool which I have never used before. I used 32 gauge though, 4/5 wrap on 2mm ecowool at 1.2ohms .. decided not to try the 30 gauge, although I do think these screws, as tiny as they are, will be able to catch the 30 gauge, because very easy with the 32 ... 30 is not that much thicker.

Let me go back to my first impression photos (took several) to see if I can get a close up on the deck for ya. I think PhatRon may have come back and posted the screw size he purchased to replace the small ones ... I think

Well ... I deleted the other photos, but hopefully this large enough for you to get a good look at the deck and screws on the Kayfun sku 12113

My problem with the screws is no matter what gauge wire it doesn't *catch*..... so I have to do a wrap around the screws. Not a problem since I'm used to doing it.

Initially I read the KFL worked great between 1.2 - 1.6 Ω's. That's not been the case for me. Mine need to be built at 2.0Ω's for max performance.

That 12113 works for me with problems from 0.9-2.1 Ohm. That'sis my first Kayfun and first RBA i has no problems with it from the moment i got it.

ETA: Oh boy, i meant - no problems, forgive me please, i love that Kayfun. Waiting for it going on sale.

That's odd. I have mine coiled at 1.1Ω and it performs great.
Could be one of two things. Either too high gauge wire, which leads to a very small heating surface, or the opposite, too low gauge that takes longer to heat.

Yeah, I usually aim for 1.2-1.5ohms and the Tai and Kayfun ... I did rock a 1.8 ohm build once on the 3.1, and it was a nice vape, denser flavor, but less throat hit.

I think it also depends on what eliquid and PV you are using too .. Playing with my new Pisces and Kayfun 3.1 right now, I'm happy that the finish on both is an exact match too  Pics coming shortly :)

I am going to make up my kfun from the last group buy I actually got it in 12 days after shipping date they said. Are most people doing micro coils on them?

Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
Yes, I use MCs on RBAs like Kayfun, Taifun, Squape, FeV, AIOS ... only. If you want to use cotton it is much easier to change the cotton. Another reason is that the air hole is close to the coil and the air will not reach the coil if it is too far left or right. I use AWG 28 or 27 for the MC

**** Pisces T First Impressions ****

Right out of the package everything looked really good. Its tiny, and lightweight, with nice laser etchings on the body, and switch. It has a nice semi polished finish, but there were a few light scratches on top cap where your device mounts, but nothing major. The threads are clean, no burrs however, the telescopic tubes were a bit squeaky, but not crunching.

Unlike Jonnysmooth, I did not have a stiff, or stuck floating pin. My Kayfun 3.1 threaded on with ease however, I encountered a minor problem straight away as my locking ring was seriously stuck.

It is reverse threaded, and it was not budging by hand ... No way I was taking pliers to my new baby, so I said myself "think Nikki" ... As Laylel would say "Aha", I put it in the freezer for a few minutes to contract the metal. After 5 mins of freezing, still no dice. I put it back in the freezer, and nuked a cup of water until boiling, then took it out of the freezer and dropped it into the boiling water for about 2 mins. I dried it off, and poof walla ... my locking ring was freed

Once I freed the locking ring, I could see that there was some sort of sticky residue, which was clearly the cause of it sticking. Whatever the sticky stuff was, it came off pretty easy with a damp sponge. The reverse threaded locking ring moves easily now.

So far, so good, and I really like the way it looks with the 3.1 ... will use it for a week or so, before I do a full review of it. :)
