It is, it is indeed! ... why are you tryna get me in trouble Weezy? There is a long list of "steals" on the FC website. I really think I need another kayfun though, and I really would love it if Doris could get the kayfun Lite V2 w/ss nano drop kit included. :D
that's the one to get and, NO whistling :) I've been wanting to order another one but have been holding off, hope Doris gets them.

I love the side airflow control and the mirror quality polish of this Russian but the whistling will drive you nuts, I have to randomly adjust the airflow screw when it starts and it will (usually) stop whistling.

Next time it's empty I'm going to see what I can do inside to prevent it.

If you do figure out how to prevent it, post it here as that would definitely be valuable info :)

Try removing the airflow completely? See what happens if it makes a difference.

Nikki,
No not trying to get you in trouble. I'm waiting for my first kayfun Lite. Will see how it goes. This is how I justify myself. 22 bucks. Not bad at all. But if I go out with the friends to eat or at the bar I just flushed at least 100 bucks on drinks. But for a mech that will last me longer...Yea!!! :)

I honestly agree with your perspective on this. And this is also one of the reason that I, and many others love China. When I first started vaping, an authentic Joyetech Ego kit with two 450mah batts, and two 510 atomizers cost $100 bucks or more  You can get a ton of really good gear from China for the same $100.

I would much rather spend $100 bucks on vape gear, then on a single night out for dinner and a drink :D ... but I have also done ..... ton of dining out in my lifetime, so I'm good.

i also started with aspire et-s and glass bdc vivi nova (my brother suggested that to me, he convinced me to vape).. wanted to order a nautilus then, when i started to read this thread.. :p
ordered nautilus tanks, replacement coils (from the other site).. and an squape! for him last week: i'm convincing him to start with rbas now ;)

about the "tobeco" kfl i own (sku 13539 with wide juice channels version): tried much wick at the beginning, because i thought it was going to flood (it was leaking, in fact, and getting some semi dry hits; juice with about 80% vg). error. the best not leaking build has less cotton; inspired by someone tips and pics from here (sorry, i don't remember who was), the cotton is fluffy on the juice channel, but not laying down ("8" setup) nor occupying the whole rest of the chamber. again, simpler is better.
about its air flow and whistle (well, i never noticed a whistle, maybe because removed the af screw immediately), haven't needed to drill it yet; but noticed the hole in the positive screw, above the insulator that weezy has described: it has better af when aligned to the air hole (i think), so i adjust the positive screw to match it (to test, you can introduce a wire into the lateral air hole, it should reach and get into the screw hole); there are 2 valid positions in a 360º screw round. dunno if it will be effective, but you could try before drilling.

i've received the taifun (now i have the three kings, kf, taifun, squape), still cleaning the base, and a bit scared of the taifun setup (even bought some mesh, just in case). also received a 3d (my first dripper). waiting for the ss quasar, igo-w, immortalizer and omega, but now i can start to taste my mixtures (will use ekowool, and will dry burn it and the coil when changing flavors, hope it is enough).

satisfied with this gear, but my mouth gets wet whenever i see your vapeporn. amazing collections you have. thanks for the pics!

Haku, I love your avvy my friend! Love to see nice people happy and smiling

I still love the Aspire ET-S, but it may be going up for sale in my next classified run .. but when it works, I think it is better than Kanger mini's, which I have also.

The three Kings, I love that too! Don't be intimidated by the Taifun GT, its an easy build, but the right amount of wicking is what most work to get right. When I first got the Taifun back in January I used an ss mesh wick build, with 3mm silica top wick that worked PERFECTLY ... I only later changed to ceramic wick because a friend had sent me some, and the flavor was amazing so I stayed with it.

I have never used cotton in a Taifun, so I can't speak to how much wick to use with cotton. But with ss mesh, the wick was rolled to about 2mm in diameter, with a 3mm silica top wick. For ceramic wick (xc116) I only need one 3mm piece that extends 2mm out of each side of the wick holes.

And as far as vapeporn, G-Weezy is gonna be the death of all of us

Hey Nelson! :) You must be working hard these days! .. Seeing your pics for the Kayfun Lite V2 definitely sealed the deal for me, so it just of a matter of "when" for me.

I will be praying that not will Doris get it, but that she will put it on sale, or Group Buy ... or something. :D

Next time it's empty I'm going to see what I can do inside to prevent it.

I have tried removing the screw and even covering up the screw hole to verify it wasn't the airflow control screw threading causing the whistling.

This is why I think it's internal.

..... [SNIP]

Now, for whistling, most whistles come from the 90 degree angle from the air hole. One fix, is to take a countersink drill bit and put an ever so slight angle on the airflow hole. just 1/2 a second burst with the drill to take off the sharp edge of the airhole. If you have a standard drill bit like this, you'll notice the tip is angled. This will do as well if you take a drill bit one or two sizes larger than the hole currently is. Again, just a real quick burst since you don't want to actually drill a hole. :) Be sure to clean the hole of any metal bits before testing.

Anyways, good luck and vape on.

NealBJr's post I quoted is the only recommended whistle fix I've seen posted throughout ECF.

New promotions going on. Nemesis for 8.90 for anyone that missed out on the killer sale. A few other bargains as well. So much for my one vapemail rule. Can't compete with G-weezy though.

No one can compete with G-Weezy at this moment in time, and I think the Vape Gods sent him to make the rest of us feel inadequate about our vape gear shopping prowess!

I have known that when you chamfer the airhole it generally reduces or even stops the whistling, I now have done this to two different Russian decks and on these two it doesn't stop the whistling.

The chamfer looks like this and is simple to do with a drill:

Just checked the US Warehouse listings, and the 26650 black SR is sold out, so I hope this means that FC is planning on restocking soon, and with some higher demand stuff like the King V2, Tree of Life, 4nine, some Kayfun variants, and some RDA's.

The 4nine Group Buy also has 383 sold so far with just under two days still left on the promotion.

I want the V2 also, but no nano kit. I get tired of refilling every 90 minutes. I'm hoping Doris gets the quartz kit. I do a lot of tank breakers.

I can't lie, running my Kayfun in Nano mode it really does need to be refilled every 90 -120 minutes of vaping ... but I still love it though  Its so cute, and handsome looking on the SR in 350 mode, and I like the looks of the V2 nano even more.

I need a strategy to deal with this, so I think I will just look at it more, and vape it a little less, and use the Squape as my chain vape machine. :D

I'm sitting here waiting on a new nano tank. I remember dropping it but didn't realized it cracked. Was wondering why it was leaking like crazy- then I saw it. :(

Gotta agree with the looks, especially on a small mod:)

glad you like the avvy. it's a plain simple one.
thanks for the taifun heads up. will report if success, and will make some research about ceramic wick, which i know nothing about.
i've drilled the doble coil holes of the 3d from 1.2mm to 2mm aprox (my first drill). it might wasn't needed, but i prefer this way.
