Dragon Mech mod With D-Base tank and Sophia & swirl FT drip tip.
I've been eyeing these wood mods and atomizers since they first showed up a few months ago. The initial ones had 2 huge drawbacks for me. They were a skull design, not something I'd particularly want on anything I owned. And worse, the laser etching of the wood looked cheap, sloppy, not quite sure what word to use. Just gave me an impression of very low quality.

The newer round of mods had better subject matter but the pictures still didn't do much to improve my impression of the quality of the etching. I'm not expecting a $30 mass produced item to look like it was hand carved by a master. But I was severely underwhelmed by what I saw in the pictures. As someone who actually has one in hand, what would you say about the etching?

*Update on the Acerig Manhattan Mod*

Doris skyped me last night, and said that Acerig will not be shipping their order for the Black and Red aluminum Manhattan until this coming Monday. That means the shipment will not arrive in GA until Thursday or Friday of next week. The copper Manhattan will be shipping separately at a later date as those are still in production. :)

Thanks for the update on the delivery of the Manhattan clones. I guess I can wait another week to order this new toy. I did pickup a Magma clone from my local vape shop this week that I can play with until we get the Manhattans. I will have it all figured out and ready to put on the Manhattan.

I am completely ok with you blaming all of your shinyitis on me .. at least it is the truth :D Now about AFC, I think you might have misunderstood me as it is not loose by any definition of the word. You must make a concerted effort to move the AFC under any circumstances, and there is no a chance in hell that you could accidentally move it when taking it out of your pocket.

Now your experience witht he Mega on a mech, has everything to do with the mech you are using ... they are not all created equal in terms of conductivity ya know. On a Stingray X I have no doubt that your experience will be different in a good way. The Giant performs well well well above average at 1.8 ohm with this beastly X under it, but I am positive that if I put it on a Hades mod, that would dramatically change.

Happy to see you shopping and ish though :D VIVA LA SHINA
I appreciate the way you complimented me, dissed my mod, and tried to get me to buy an X all in one short, sweet, and polite reply. Your Temptress skills never cease to amaze me :)

You sort of hit the nail on the head so to speak. The designs (most of them), well, suck, but I do like this dragon one. As for the quality, well, it's "Made in China", so it is what it is. The X-Fire works as good an any spinner, and the X-Gun is a good VV/VW device (takes an 18650 battery but is the size of a 26650 device), and the Mech is too long for the battery and does not fire well. They could be improved upon a lot, but I just don't see that happening. They are what they are is about all I can say. The wood atty's really suck on vaping, don't like them at all (I have 2), and not sure how I can make them work better, really different design on the coils. I took one apart just to look at it (dual coil and PITA to get back together), but different than any I have seen. I am at some point going to try to rebuild one as a single coil, but not sure if with the way it is designed I can get it back together and working properly.

If I hadn't had so many beers I might could have worded that better. :toast:

Spoken like a true vape-a-holic Porter .. when you get stuck waiting for something that you really want, just buy something else to pacify your desires  Not more than a week ago I had zero interest in the Manhattan mod, and now I am as excited as everyone else to get one of those Red darlings

I am so genuinely intrigued by clones, and its not about new gear for me, it is the love, and interest in examining and comparing them to the specs and photos of the authentic mods. Of course it would be nice to one day to a physical side by side comparison of a clone and authentic, ugh that would really float my boat. :D

Glad I amused you as much as you amused me.

Never bought the X, may pick it up, or some other mod in a few weeks. Right now the Mega will have to keep me entertained for a bit, got my quarterly insurance bills for the house and the car the same day. Not only am I broke this pay period, I have an excellent head start on being broke for the next one or two.

On the bright side I was very pleasantly surprised by an inexpensive juice vendor this week. I received and order and one of the ones looked different (darker) than the last couple of times I got it. I emailed them to make sure it wasn't a mistake, and he replied that it was a new flavor supplier they had switched to. While I accepted the change, he could tell from the tone of my email that I wasn't overjoyed with the change. He replied within a couple of hours that he would mix me up a batch using the old recipe and send it out immediately, no charge. While it doesn't offset the insurance bills, it did put a smile on my face.

Now back to the mod. If you didn't like the Mega on a SS Stingray, maybe you'll like this one better.

Awww, my kitty is halfbroke  ... and ya see, that set up right there is why your Mega vape was less than impressive. But seriously that set up reminds me of the early Kanger Protank days, when a beauty ring and a Ego battery was all the rage. If you go to my profile, I think you can see a thumbnail of my old Kanger/Ego set ups

Don't worry boo, your cash flow will eventually recover. Doesn't it suck being an adult sometimes?

Can't believe they included a 22mm beauty ring with this thing. Did they include a 30mm beauty ring with yours? :D

Yeah, that darned reality thing is interfering with my toy purchasing schedule.

ETA: You triggered a couple of dormant brain cells. I remember when buying Protanks you had to read the description and get the "good" ones that included the beauty ring because the standard Vivi Nova rings didn't fit the Protanks right.

I guess you can blame me for sending you on a "Mission" to find the Manhattan clone and asking you to convince Doris to get it for us. That "Mission" woke up your interest in it for sure.
Sometimes I have no interest in something when I first see it or hear about it, but then that changes as I learn more about it.

So to update on my Beast mod story ...

FC has not left me hanging. I emailed customer service. And they replyed quickly thinking I was in on the group buy (really wish I would have noticed that). So I emailed back explaining that I wasn't and that it was just a regular order. Again they got back very quickly and here is the reply.

So sorry that have kept you waiting and so sorry the factory produce in batches caused the delivery was delayed.
We have arranged the preferred shipment of this order.
We will update the tracking number timely once the package was left our office.
So sorry for any inconvenience this matter has caused.
Best Regards,
Eleven

So they are going to get it out quickly once they get more in. That's cool, and at 49 I've learned to be patient. Especially when things have to come from over seas. I am looking forward to getting it. Just wish I knew who made it. I'll have three to compare. I have the all brass Flip from FT (maker unknow), the 101 Vape Flip from Hcigar, and soon the Beast from FC.

I'm told someone else has come out with a flip that only shares the design on the tubes flipping. No engraving on the center tube and totally different on the flipping tubes. Should be interesting.

I was thinking the same thing as I was looking at the pic like " Really Kanger? " :p .. Well I will share something with you that might make you feel smarter than me, if only for a split second .. when I first opened the box for the Aerotank Giant, I thought the steel tank section was a beauty ring at first :blush:

See, tard can happen to anyone

That is right! I almost forgot that you Portertown, are the one who is really responsible for the Acerig Manhattan coming to US warehouse near us soon! Yeah, this new burning my heart is all your fault! Nikki was just the messenger

Now if for any reason the Acerig Manhattan sucks, I am blaming that on you as well  I believe it will be awesome though, Acerig has quickly developed a rep for good clones.
