No Idea. Took it apart, looked & cleaned, put it back together and it read 0.9Ω with no coil. Did it again, and once back together it read 1.6Ω with no coil. Took back apart trying to figure it out, put back together and it reads NON, which is what it should with no coil. I have no idea ... is going own. Been up since 4am, so I'll look at it again tomorrow. Thanks

I had a problem like that with a kayfun clone I had. After taking it completely apart it turned out to be a tiny piece of metal. It was in the center air passage where the positive pin runs through. When screwing in the air adjustment all the way it felt like it was sticking on something. A turn back out then back in and it felt fine again. I'm assuming, in my case, that was where the tiny piece of metal came from. Then after a few pulls it got sucked into the center and shorted things out. It looked like it might have been from when they drilled for the air control screw because it was like a flake of metal.

Smart move really, if one fails you don't lose everything and have way to come back. Like my old boss used to say, Don't ever put all your eggs on one basket. Every week he would make his weekly deposit, take out some walking money and put a $100 bill in a coffee can he kept in the rafter's of his basement. He did that for at least twenty years that I knew him.

Its a fairly common practice in China ... iVOGO is the branded trade name for Shenzhen United Electronic Co, LTD who is the manufacturer, but they are the same entity.

Very strange indeed :( So all your insulators were intact when you took it apart? Did you disassemble and reassemble the entire positive pin assembly? Is the SVD the only thing you have to check your ohms with?

The word is that you're just supposed to refresh the confirmation page and then you'll get correct info. Guess that's the default value or something, you'll find a few posts where someone ordered and ends up with the Taifun confirmation page.

So there is still some light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks.

I think the vaping gods are trying to tell me something. First the mix up with the group buy that delayed my order. Then the flip tube and 510 connector issues. Now this...

I went to order a black magma so that FC could send the replacement parts for the Beast Flip. The whole way through right up to and including PayPal's web site it says black magma $15.82. On paypal it just says $15.82. Right after I okay the payment it goes back to the FC conformation screen. But now it says Taifun GT at $28. What the %&@# !!!!!!

My paypal email isn't the same as the one on FC so no info shows up there. So now I'm waiting for them to send me the email with the order number so I can see what's up. Then I have a to send it to Eleven & Doris so they can send my Flip parts.

Like my grandfather used to say "if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all"

No need for panick, FC's website has this weird glitch that tends to confirm a Taifun GT after you order, but if you refresh the page it goes away ... If I had a dollar for every time someone came in this thread with this particular transaction gliche, I would have at least a few hundred dollars by now

Didn't expect that so it was a surprise. Almost tossed the ipad like a frisbee. Unfortunitly I backed up a few pages to make sure I had the right thing in my cart and then went forward to a different page so I can't refresh. But I'm feeling better about the order now. Thanks.

 Glad you opted not to toss your ipad like a frisbee, I don't think FC sells those :p

A little tip to pass along about the copper Manhattans.
When I received mine I polished all the contact points(ends) of the copper pins that came with it. I used a very fine wet/dry sand paper and lightly wet sanded them to a high luster. After using this copper Manhattan for a week I noticed it was not quite hitting as hard as it first was and the contact points were tarnished slightly.
I did not want to sand them again as that takes off some of the soft copper and eventually doing this would shorten the pins.
I remembered hearing that a pencil eraser would clean contact points, so I tried cleaning with an eraser and it cleaned the contact points perfectly.
Now the Manhattan is hitting good as ever.
Note to self: Clean Weekly
This will apply to the red and black Manhattans as they also have the copper pins.
I also so used the eraser on the ends of my batteries and it cleaned them nicely also. So now an eraser is a staple in my vape tool box.

Oh yes, Copper bits need to be cleaned often otherwise you will experience voltage drop .. just cleaned my tarnished contacts two days ago, but I used ketchup ... just let it sit in it for 10 minutes, and poof walla, clean as a whistle. But good to know about the pencil eraser trick too. :)

I thought you were supposed to buy Tarnex and use that on copper mods, but not brass or stainless steel. ;)

I would be afraid to try to use that on the tiny pins as you have to rinse with water after using Tarn x. With my big hands I would have these tiny pins lost down the sink drain for sure. I think I can handle using it on the battery tube and larger parts as I can not lose them down the drain.
A person just has to know their limitations and when it comes to handling small items I have learned this the hard way.

This eraser is so quick and easy to use. I was surprised how much cleaner the contacts on my batteries looked after just a few wipes with the eraser.
Good to know about the ketchup. I don't know if the eraser would work if there was a very heavy coat of tarnish, but it did good removing light tarnish.

You have to go to the dollar store and buy one of these:

119120_v1.jpg

mesh strainer

I save those little sauce cups with lids too, from takeout, so I can put my little stuff in there and shake them up.
All the while chanting "I am a washing machine. I am a washing machine." Then I dump them into the strainer.

Great idea, I will have to get one of those strainers.
Now I know why my parts do not come out clean when I put them in a small container along with some Dawn dishwashing liquid. I have not been doing the "chanting" part. This vaping stuff is getting so technical.

Everything looked intact, and yes I took the + pin completely out. All I can figure from the posts and what I found (nothing) that there was a piece of trash/shaving in there that I never found. I put the same coil back on this morning, 2.6Ω, rewicked with rayon, and it is working again. Going to run a couple of tanks through it with it on my SVD, scared me a little with the instant heat from a dead short. Don't think the battery is hurt, its a 20amp Samsung, and was reading still 3.8 volts after it cooled down, charging it now.

Is the SVD the only thing you have to check your ohms with?
No I have 4 different ones that read ohms (have a DVM on order so I can check coils before I mount them), but the SVD was handy last night, and seems to read accurate.

Thanks all for all the input as to what the problem could have been. Still don't know what it was, but it is working again.
