Well, today I tracked down some flat head M3 SS post screws at Ace Hardware to try in the SqR. I think the chimney will be less likely to grab them.
Just in case it still does, I bought some M3 nuts as well. I can put the screws in the nuts to clamp them down and use my Dremel to turn the heads down a bit.
I will update how it went.
