Good News!

My Nemmy came! The package looked like it had been drug out into the street by a pack of wild dogs and ran over by 10 semis, but its here!
When opening it, I was a little concerned because it was only wrapped in some tissue paper. No box or anything, but it survived and is pretty and shiny!

I have taken it apart and all the threads are smooth. Thats as far as Ive gotten with tinkering yet though. I havent put a battery in and made adjustments. Now to decided if I want to put one of my tanks on top and use it or wait for my kayfun? Meh, Ill probably give in before the kayfun arrives!

Awesome, and its about dang time! ... I would say don't wait for your Kayfun to use your Nemmy ... if there is anything wrong with it, or something you need to know about adjusting it for use, etc, you would want to know those things now. So that by the time its intended partner gets here, you will have worked out any adjustments, and/or kinks .. especially with a mod that has adjustable top and bottom caps. :)

Enjoy, and I am glad she is pretty. ;-)

So the "Kanger" Protank 3 and Aerotank I ordered on separate group buys both had dodgy scratch off code stickers. In fact, it's the same code on both (ends in 23332)! The PT3 is a bit crooked due to the top part not having the chimney welded on straight. The Aerotank base has a bad bottom pin that sticks past the bottom 510 thread, clearing the insulator grommet with enough play to short out. I had to put some tape around the bottom to keep it centered. I don't have this issue with a seemingly genuine airflow base I got from Fasttech. The units are serviceable and the price was good, but from now on I'm going to assume any KangerTech products on Focal aren't genuine.

If all you say is true, then you definitely need to contact Doris, and let her know that you genuinely doubt the authenticity of the device, because it does not benefit FC to advertise, and sell it as authentic if it truly is not.

Vendors like FC and FT rely on credible and honest suppliers ... but not all of them are honest. I am sure they believe they are selling the real deal, because that is what they ordered. But without opening and testing every single device, most especially being that they are not vapers themselves, how would they know its fake, without customer feedback?

Based on what you have said, it sounds suspect to me (the scratch offs) ... and you are supposed to be able to check those scratch offs directly on Kangertech's site to see if they are authentic or not ... So I would do that also, and then email Doris with your findings.

Shes already fired up in 350 mode with an Aerotank on top. Working well. No magnets and not much adjusting.

" There is nothing related to United States or Canada. I assumed those who came from the United States can purchase many bottles is because they purchased it from April 18th 00:00to 8:00 period (Hong Kong Time). Our system detected some orders value 10$ purchased hundreds of bottles. This affected our stock and unfair to other customers who still want these bottles. Then, we had to make restriction for each order. But if you noticed, there are four kind of bottles and four kind of accessories which you can purchase in one order. Just limited the quantity for same items. "
I really find it's not right. 1 bottle, what i gona do with it? If i make a butch i use at list 5 or 10. and if i buy 1 and id does not work with rest of main buy 1-3 mm, i know i'm that nasty, so limitation to 1 bottle makes it not available for me (this 1 mm will get me ...... and i will check it). But i guess it's first time when FC faced this situation and next time they will be ready one way or other (bring a bigger stock or put limit right away), but still limit to one seems pretty unreasonable.

I am still not sure if this has anything to do with why Laylel was unable to check out on two of the Kayfuns, while I, and some others were able to place two in our carts. But Laylel if you still want the two Kayfuns, I would be happy you email Doris for you and maybe she can direct Paypal invoice you for them at the sale price .. but only if you still wanted them though.
Thank you Nikki, i will hold on this sale, will wait for my (one i own) kayfun will go on sale. I also got sandblasted PH22 and kayfun for to go build.
You see, do not let customers think)))

The Kanger site suggests that the product is counterfeit, telling me that the code has been entered almost 1000 times since December. I will take a photo tomorrow in daylight as my iPhone 5s isn't that great at macro photography. I don't suggest that Focal knew the products were fake as they obviously can't scratch the stickers before sending them out.

I do feel a bit of a sucker for paying $1 extra for the Aerotank instead of the non branded Zerotank, though.

Laylel, ss mesh Genesis builds are the most complex to master. If you were having wicking issues, there are several potential causes like, wick is too large, juice is to thick, coils wrapped too tight and are choking the wick.

Also, depending on the wick, and Genesis device, new wicks do need to be broken in, and sometimes there are dry hits while the wick is breaking in. And, my AGI does its best wicking when the tank is half full for some reason. On a full tank I cannot chain vape it ... you would think it would wick the best on a full tank, but no .... My best vape was when the tank was half full to empty, and I always vape my Gennies to empty.

Unfortunately because I don't have the Prometheus, I can't guide you on how to best work with this device in particular. :(

Thank you for all your support, really thanks a lot for babysitting noobies like me.

I for sure will not fight this build, i cannot a ford it by time what it takes and for me time=everything (it was time i did broke up with few potential boyfriend because they was bit a late but consistently, aha). It sure nicer vapor with this build even on one coil but gosh that this thing is fussier then spoiled pretty cheek, aha.

This sounds like small amounts of juice are trapped around the air holes, which happens a lot with Genesis styles because of the condensation that usually accumulates inside the top cap, and around the air holes .... its the one thing that drives me crazy with the Kraken, so I have to pop the cap off and clear the condensation ever so often.
You right thatt is excactly what it was.
 And drip tip sitting on central post doesn't help it all.
Well, gap on central post for putting coil is not dip enoght so screw is going all way dowt as supposed too only when its no coil in, but as soon i put coil in it doesn't let it go all the way down. Gona ask guys in garage to fix it and may be then will give other shot for ss mesh Genesis build.
I also have foggati finally landed in Canada, so i hope to have it within a week may be, may try it on that tank.

The only reason i started to mess with it, i need to go mod. And i did look at Slimsy. But what the point to buy device what you not gona use as it supposed to (it's like to buy alien to play titres, aha).

Totally understandable! I am glad you entered the scratch off at the Kanger site and can show FC proof that they are not the real deal ... Going forward they will now know how to check authenticity themselves, so they can avoid problems like this ... Such a shame though. :(

I definitely believe that they didn't know it was fake because they were already selling a non branded knockoff Aerotank, so clearly they have no problem stocking and selling what is known to them as a knock off.... I wish these suppliers wouldn't lie, its not worth it. How could they possibly think it wouldn't eventually be found out.

Laylel, you are my favorite spicy donut, of course I am here to support you. :D ... we also agree about ex boyfriends too, if he can't show up, he can get out! true story..

Gennie's need time, and patience to get right ... these are not the devices that you can throw together quickly. If you gets on your nerves too much, you can build with cotton instead of mesh. Many users do just that. ;-)

Nice, the Foggatti finally arrived, just as the other Genesis is getting on your nerves. :p ... Well, you can also build this one with cotton instead, at least until you have the time, and patience to work on your mesh builds.

I think i just do not get really what i'm doing with Genesis build.
Put coil around mesh so it doesn't touch it or it should touch it but even everywhere.
Other thing i did use 33AW for coil (all what i have for now) and because it's so thin it just burns before i have time to fix it.

You can't have the coils too loose, they have to touch the wick ... but you also cannot have it too tight, or it chokes the wick.

Although there are some who do not oxidize their wick first, and prefer to use the pulse method to work out hot spots, I pre oxidize my mesh .. A LOT. I have never had troubles with hot spots, I am ususally good to go on the first test fire ... but again, I oxidize a lot.

I torch the mesh (on stove) before I roll it, and then I torch it again after I roll it .. then I wrap my coil directly on the wick, and then I install it, which I find makes it easier to keep everything in place while I am securing the lead wires.

I have found that using skinny wicks is best, and I also use a 1.5mm silica wick in the center of the mesh, which I find helps with wicking. But that also means that you use a very small piece of mesh, just enough to wrap one and a half times around the silica, making a tail of silica out of the bottom of the wick. Everyone has their own method of building, so you just need to find yours. But I would not use thinner than 32gauge Kanthal for dual coils, and 30 gauge for single coils.

Gimme a sec, and I will try to upload some pics of my first ever Genesis build. :)

Ok ... this is for the spicy donut Laylel :p

This is just a photo demonstration of what my wick and coils looked like after I initially installed it, then filled the tank, and primed the wick up top, and finally what a good Genesis build should look like once you test fire it.

In photo one, you can see what I meant by using a silica wick (1.5mm) through the center, and a tail out of the bottom. This has two purposes, the first is to make sure that my mesh is never touching the bottom of the tank creating shorts, an two, to help with wicking so that even when my tank is near empty, with the silica touching the bottom, it will still wick well on a low tank.

In photo two, after I fill the tank, I also prime the upper wick with e liquid to get everything going ... I do this a few times, firing the coils in between wetting them with e liquid.

In photo three, you will see that there are no hot spots while firing, and this is what your coils should like while firing them, when everything is good.

I am using 30 gauage Kanthal on this build, with 400 mesh, and 1.5mm silica .. You can see that my coils are neither tight, nor loose, and again I wrap my coils directly on the mesh BEFORE I install the wick and secure the leads ... because ss mesh is firm, its easy to wrap the coils directly on the wick, much like you do on a drill bit, syringe, or rounded toothpick. I hope this can help you a little. :)

I think you should try a single coil first ... get that down before doing dual coils with a genny ... If you want to make your very thin 33gauge thicker, and lower the resistance, then you should try twisted wire, which you can do by hand, by doubling over one long piece of 33 looping it on a paper clip, and gripping the open ends closed with a pair of pliers.

Then using the end with the paper clip (while keeping the other end secured tight and extended with pliers in hand), you keep twisting the wire until you have a small tightly twisted, rope like piece, which will be make the wire twice at thick, and half the resistance per inch ... you can google this too "twisted Kanthal wire". :)

So here are a couple of daytime shots of the Stingray with included driptip.

You can see the markings in the switch, hopefully these will polish off

Starting to get a good patina after one day :)

Thanks, the switch doesn't bother me terribly. I do hope it polishes off though.

I took the switch apart and cleaned it, fires like a dream now.

I re-uploaded the pictures to a hosting service, I hate Tapatalk.
