Hey, guys, if I'm not around much for a while don't forget me. I'll be back at some point, but a friend of mine committed suicide last night and I just found out today and it's kind of hard to think about much else right now. I'm heading into a really hard week at work and this is just going to weigh heavy on my shoulders for a bit. I wasn't super close to her since high school, but it's still very hard to deal with.

Sorry to hear that, its a big hard blow to all when someone gives up, part of my illnesses is I face that challenge every day and sometimes despair can get into the hearts of the boldest of people, make sure you have someone to perhaps talk about this with because it is a shock to the people around the departed that are hit so hard.

Sadly there is no written manual on how to get through this other than facing it head on and being strong for yourself and maybe for the others who are hurting.

Please excuse me if I am seen as poking in on what is a very private thing, I spent many years as a counsellor and mental nurse before my own breakdowns.

OMG Skorpeyon  ... I am very sorry to hear about that, and I can only imagine the "head space" that you are in right now. :(

Take the time you need to get right again, and we will still be here when you get back ... and there is no chance that we will forget about you. :) *big hug*

Just got my Squape that was on the group buy a while back... I will have to say, the thing is impressive. It reaked horribly of machine oil, and that took taking every screw I could unscrew, and disasemble the whole thing... I cleaned with an oxy clean de-greaser, then boiled the thing in vinegar water.. then boiled in regular water.... it was tough to get that taste out. But it finally got out.

I built my second coil (first was just a temp coil), and I have to say, it is the easiest thing to build I own. The wick channel is exactly thewidth of the screwdriver I coil on. Wrapped 8 wraps of kanthal.. I believe 28 guage, and made a micro coil out of it. ran the cotton through and down the channels very neatly. put it on my vamo, and the thing vapes like a champ. The screws that hold the coils actually grab the coil unlike my kayfuns which slip out of the screws. It's easy to tighten down with bare hands, but has a slotted screwdriver just in case.

FFilling is fairly easy, just take off the deck while upsidown, and fill between the chimney and the wall. The coil and wick can be taken out and worked on without loosing juice which is a huge plus. take off the drip tip and the top of the atomizer is flat, so it can be put down without tipping or propping. the area around the screws are non conductive, so little worries about shorting. Everyhting looks neat and tidy.

only downsides are that the airflow comes from the 510 conector. This works as a bonus with the Vamo, since the top cap can be screwed up to restrict airflow, or down to allow more air. Another downside, is you MUST use a needle type filler, the area between the chimney and outside is very narrow.

So far, I am liking it a lot. If it continues to work like it has been, it may be my main topper. Ordering from FocalEcig was a bit confusing, and the no tracking because of the group buy left me wondering too much. I ordered another atomizer from fasttech at the same time, and this arrived first. For Fasttechs defence, it did say it would ship in 5 days, so it might be a bit longer for the FT order. Overall, a decent exxperience, but the lack of a good translator for the product description and the non tracking lowered the quality of the experience and I'd have to give them a "reputable 6.5-7 rating.

Just thougth I'd share that with ya.

Oh.. and the Kayfun Lites SKU 13539 from the GB are junk.. Not your fault Doris. The chimney doesn't seal properly on the top cap to create the vacuum. BOTH the ones I ordered are like that. Leak like a bucket with holes. Short with, long wick.. no difference. I ordered a different one from a different site and have had no problems. If anyone else has had any problems with this SKU and have gotten it to work.. Please clue me in. Usless paper weights as of now.

I also got that same one. I had no real problem with it on the first build. I rebuilt it today, and it started leaking like crazy, liquid constantly pouring out the airhole. I think I may have found the answer on a different forum. The chimney may not be long enough to slide far enough into the top cap O-ring to always get a good seal. It seems like adding an extra o-ring between the bottom part or the chimney and chimney makes makes the chimney assembly just enough taller to contact the top cap o-ring better.

Nice shrine you got there. *bow*
I was looking for right holder like forever. Money not a question if i find that what i'm in love with. But drop $100+ on holder what looks like may be right - that's not me. I just picked up that little shelf for $2 from some second hand shop till i find the right one.
And still somewhere in back i'm thinking - i do not want to keep all my stuff what i do not use like this, i will rather to keep it closed so it doesn't collect all the dust. I do not find lately on so much switching flavor - 2-3 what i love and 2-3 mods, rest is just sit there as back up of back up.
Starting to think about selling about 3/4 of it.

Thank you for this very detailed feedback, I appreciate that. I am still waiting on mine to arrive, so your feedback has given me something to look forward to. :thumb:

In all fairness to Focalecig though, when a Group Buy is offered W/O a tracking # as part of the standard free shipping, this information is listed in the Group Buy details, so I don't see how the lack of tracking# can be seen as a con, or a fault to Focal. For anyone who desires a tracking # (as I would) then you can request and pay for an upgrade for tracking.

Thanks again for the feedback on the Squape as I am know there are many who were hoping that this batch of Squape would be a good one. :)

I believe you are correct Sue in your findings about the necessity for a o ring at the top of the chimney in order to maintain a proper seal, and vacuum. There are some versions of the KFL that are sold with that o ring for the chimney, so hopefully the spare parts bag for this KFL included some extra tiny black o rings.

Oh wow, that looks like some major DIY supplies ... Today we could have "bartered" some services to one another, as I just spent all morning and early afternoon working in the Garden  I needed you Laylel

I am EXHAUSTED, but my hostias and begonias are planted, although I wanna smack myself for not choosing two types of perennials, instead of one annual, and one perennial

.
The issue isn't that the o-ring is missing, the (potential) problem is the chimney not fully contacting and seating into the top cap o-ring correctly. I added an extra o-ring between the base part of the chimney and the top part of the chimney, effectively increasing the height of the chimney by a millimeter, providing a better contact.

I'm up to seven different KFL and KF3.1 clones now. I found the needed o-ring in the spares from one of the others.

Yea, I don't fault them for no tracking number. I didn't read the fine print, and realized the no tracking number later. That's %100 my fault. :)
And I didn't read about problems until I actually went back to give a positive review. It seems on one batch, they annodized one of the contact screws too much. I've read that it can be fixed, but the one I have has no problems. It also looks like it's a different model than the first batch, since the deck area looks silver instead of the flat coloring I see in the pics. There are very few downsides to this atomizer. It is a bit loud on my vamo.. it hisses more than what I'm used to. It's quickly becomming my main atomizer.

When you do get it, let me know what you think. :) Be careful though, it is one heavy atomizer. :)
