Just thought I'd post a quick review of the King Style V2 No logo SKU: 19245.

When I picked up the package, I was surprised.. it's a very heavy mod. The weight they list at 163 grams. This mod is heavy for it's size. In a way, that's good, since it gives a very sturdy feel to it. once unboxed, The matte finish stands out... it's grey. Unfortunately, I don't have any toppers that match it, but it grips nicely, does not slip, and is not a fingerprint magnet. There is definately no bling with this mod. No logo is a very thing. Even with the plain design, you can barely tell where the tubes connect to each other. From two feet, I cannot tell it's multile tubes screwed together. The finish is nice and even. when I took it apart for initial inspection, everything came off smooth. There was no machining smell, and the threads were smooth. The inside of the tube is shiny. It can be used 18350, 18500, 18650, and 18650+kick. I immediately got my kick out and that's where the confusion set in. The inner diameter of the longest tube is cambered in maybe about a millimeter. about 1/4th of the way in. It took me a while to realize that... the tubes are not interchangeable The inner diameter of the top tube is different from the bottom and extention tubes. So, you cannot screw or turn the tubes.. they go on a particular way. Once I figured that out, I put the kick in. For the device to look flush, the center adjustment pin has to be taken totally out and all tubes must be used. I did get it to work with a kick + Panasonic 18650PD with very little battery rattle and Kick+Sony 18650VTC5 with no rattle. both the Squape and a KFL fit well, with minimal gap between the 510 and the top part. The firing button worked, but fails to fire sometimes when pressed on the edge. The locking ring is smooth, with a half turn to lock/unlock. The whole button is guarded, which means you can place it on the edge without fear of it firing. The only problem I have with the machining of the unit, is the bottom of the locking ring is sharp. That can be easily fixed with sandpaper.

Overall, I think this is very utilitarian in design. No frills, No flash, but full of function. No logo anywhere on the device gives it a sort of elegant look to it. Overall, I think it will replace my nemesis. If you want me to post pics, just let me know.

Hi Neal .. thanks for your detailed feedback on the King V2. I actually wanted this mod when it first came out, I was looking at the brass version though. We would love to see pics, this is a vapeporn loving thread after all. :D

Only an innocent noob would buy those jacked up Manhattan's, only to come back later to complain that it hits like crap, and his buddies are making fun of him for buying it. Just looking at the stainless steel w/PVD caps sent me into a rage
That's the sad part. There probably will be quite a few innocent noobs buying the jacked up ones, and they WILL hit like crap, and they'll never know about all the GOOD stuff they could've gotten from FC, because they'll undoubtedly hang their heads in shame and never buy from there again. Can those of us who know better (haha not me) use the FC Review and Forum sections to set them straight and point them in the right direction (i.e. Doris's version)?

Good lookin' out, Nikki! :thumb:

Porter I am so jelly now .. You have an authentic Poldiac? I love that Mod, and I have loved it for a long time too. I never got one of the clones because none of them were up to snuff. I have some hope for the new V2 Poldiac clone, but I am waiting for reviews and feedback on it. If its still no good, I will continue to pass.
Add me to that list. Love the design of the Poldiac and I'd practically kill to get a decent clone of it. Or even a decent Poldiac inspired design like the P22 that FastTech sells, except it'd have to have a decent working switch.

On a completely different topic, the Manhattan mods...

I actually like the look of the stainless and black PVD one, but do understand that the particular model is a really bad idea in many ways. I too am limited in hand strength and don't think a competition mod of any style would be a good choice for me either. However I like the deep red anodized one shown also.

Your task, should you accept it, tell me of a similar cleanly designed mod that doesn't require hand exercises to fire.

Edit: Vapor Joe's Canada just posted about the Stingray X. So if you want one, order now or wait for the next batch. I'm sure that the mention on their blog should have them sold out quickly.

Aww thanks hun :) .. What you said about noob's buying the bad one, then never returning to the site again, is why I feel bad for Doris. Here she is trying her best to bring the mods to the consumer that she knows we want, then this egotistical fool goes and messes it up for the consumer, and the company.

I speak to Doris a lot about always remembering "the bigger picture", and how one wrong decision, or choice can have a domino effect of consequences. This poor clone choice can also affect the overall impression that an experienced vaper has of their website, and what kinds of products they carry. If I didn't know FC, and I went to their site looking for a Manhattan, and this is what I find, I probably would not come back. Outside of this thread, no one knows that a better clone is coming.

I use my "insider info" for the benefit of those who participate, and lurk in this thread, but there are plenty of consumers who have no clue about this thread.

Ya .. I almost got the PH22 as well, that one actually came out before the 1:1 Poldiac clone did. Sometimes I still think maybe I should have gotten the PH22, but I am really loving the look of the new V2 .. gotta follow up on FT to see if is any feedback yet.

Now a similar design to the Manhattan, that doesn't require brut strength to fire? .. Maybe the Paragon mod? Its a simple, carbon fiber wrapped body mech.

Yeah, damage control (via thread discussions and reviews) might be all we can do to help out our girl. That's a tough culture to be in, if you're a cute young hottie that's really good at her job. Luckily, vapers are very responsive to that kind of stuff (haha look at the Manhattan controversy). That guy's gonna get his - not from us, but from his boss for bringing that garbage in.

And thanks for sharing your "insider info." Learning a lot! :thumb:

Not sure if you have ever used or seen the Cronus mod. I love that thing, easy...easy fire button! Very easy!!! Love the lock mechanism too. One of my hardest hitting mods, however I think mine was an infinite clone. As we all know the manufacture makes a big a difference.

Check it out though. Even if it is not on FC there are several vendors that carry the good version of it and pretty cheaply I might add for the quality. Not the best looking as it telescopes but that is one mod I will never get rid of.

It is bottom fire but takes next to nothing to fire it.

You ordered this on Group Buy correct? Group Buys follow a different shipping schedule than other items. Group Buys run for 7 days, and usually do not ship until 3-5 days after the Group Buy promotion has ended. The Beast Group buy just ended yesterday.

Thx but no, just a regular buy. Somehow I missed seeing that group buy. I've ordered from FT so I know not to be in a rush when ordering from outside of the US. But it is my first time ordering and was just wondering if anyone has one and how they like it.

Hey Nelson .. I mentioned the Plume veil and the fact that they should get it from Acerig, the only problem is, the same people responsible for the crappy Manhattan, are the same people who already ordered a Plume veil, as per Doris. No idea where it is coming from though.

I was also looking at iJoye, I am familiar with them, but Doris said that there prices were very high .. The other problem is, neither Acerig nor iJoye supply to domestic markets, meaning China. The will only supply to North America and Europe. If FC did not have the US warehouse, there would be no Acerig Manhattan. There is the possibility of getting it through a supplier, but it would be like an accident because suppliers don't give out manufacturer names, for fear you will go straight to them.

I was one of the lucky ones with the DaVapes Poldiac. Mine has survived 8 or 9 months of abuse and still performs flawlessly. That poor thing has probably seen as much use as all my other mods combined. I really wish I could recommend it, but too many people have had trouble.

Yes, I have heard that there were a few good apples in that bunch, I am glad that you got one of them. The work on the body appeared flawless to me.

Well if it wasn't one Group Buy, then no, it is not normal to take this long. I would suggest contacting CS pronto for a status on this order.

Go look at these two Manhattans again, scroll down below the descriptions, under the ratings and look under "Discussions" I posted comments. Maybe a few more will make the guy who ordered these look like a fool and help Doris, blast away!

That is a good idea Willy .. I have to go over there and post a note myself. Doris tells me that they did sell of few of these bombs today ... so sad. *sigh*
