Why not try the copper, brass or stainless steel 4nine? I think everything you're seeing is because of the black finish being improperly applied. I'm currently using a Stingray X and brass 4nine. They work more or less equally and both hit well so the voltage drop is minimal. Any of the base metal versions are under $20 from China. And right now shipping seems quick, exactly 1 week from China post drop-off to my mailbox in New York for my most recent focalecig purchase. So worked on my 4nine today, got it working better, but even though using it in hybrid mode, it doesn't hit anywhere as good as my black stingray, maybe it is the coating on the 4nine, but it won't be replacing my stingray at work, so the hunt is still on for a mech mod that doesn't need a locking ring for my work mod.

Nailz, what if you coated it with poly? Still no go?

Don't have a Taifun (yet) but after an unfortunate experience with a Kraken I decided that SS mesh wasn't going to beat me. Ran across an AGA-T2 on sale somewhere and went for it. Have a successful build on it, a little higher resistance than I had originally planned (about 1.3 ohm) but it's working. That one might be in line for some experimenting down the line.
Speaking of Protanks, the old girl looks better than I thought on the new Nemi. Hits a lot better than the vv ego she was on too. I must say the Marstech build quality was better than expected also. I think the three of us will be happy together

Nikki mixed up all the OOO flavors, that COPYRIGHTDMCA is REALLY strong, none of them was bad and will see how they come along with more steep time, but the chocolate chewy bar is a winner without a proper steep, that stuff is damn yummy![]()
Dual coil Kraken was my first attempt at mesh. Mistake. After a day and a half finally got it going, then it started leaking from the 510 pin. Too frustrated, gave it away.Surprised to hear that you couldn't make good with your Kraken, I loved mine while I was using it, but I run that one with SS mesh. I use xc116 on my UD AGA TD though. Happy to hear that you are enjoying the Nemmy mini too.![]()

Now on to fun things. Did you see the Heron at FC? Do you know anything about the quality of the $18 Taifuns that showed up there?

Hi All,
Need a little input on what to buy. Most here have LOTS of different Mech's and toppers, so if ALL your colection were to vanish into thin air, and you could just purchase "One" setup (Mech & topper), and that was going to be your ADV, and it was the only setup you could own, what would you get? Remember, you have to live with "Just One Setup".
I am thinking something you would not have to modify to get it to work.
Tanked setup not a dripper.
Would work with a single coil.
Ease of mounting coil and wicking (some are a PITA to get right)
Non-Genny, they leak if you lay them down.
Color/design do not matter, but comfort to hold and activate button does matter.
SKU's would help as some are made by different MFG and work different.
I am ready to place an order but there are just too many choices, and I have ordered too many POS in the past and just want something that works and looks good right out of the box.
If it is from somewhere besides FC that would be OK with me, but I am basically looking for the full setup from one place.
Thanks for the input.

... Ok, I would have to say the Stingray X, and a Kayfun (lite plus V2 or 3.1). If I could only keep one of my set ups it would definitely be this one.... although I hope that life never comes to that!
Ooh, Nikki, I think it's time to pull out the magic wand again...

I don't know what the deal is, with me and huge cutouts...looking at The First right now, REALLY big cutouts...
ETA: Oh, snap. The other place has them. How'd I miss that...![]()
I have very limited experience in this world of very advanced vaping stuff, so take everything with a grain of salt. For toppers I would go with a Kayfun, either EHPro or Infinite. From what I have heard a Taifun may be better, but I have no experience with it. For the mech I would go with something unpopular, an Astro. It has a good switch out of the box, very acceptable voltage drop, and the telescopic tubes means it will work with just about any type of battery out there. It will also be very happy with a kick in any combination except 18650 unless you get an extension tube.Hi All,

I just finished reading the specs and discussions.I am actually a huge fan of this aesthetic myself, and the only thing that has stopped me is the diameter which is weirdish at 22.7mm. It should be good with a Taifun or Squape, but its such a classy design that I would actually want a more refined looking, and not so tall RBA to match. But I will certainly put Doris on it though ... I do love the way it looks.
Amazing how well good porn works though! I got all excited when I was flipping through Ali and came across it.

ETA: The Astro is a 23mm device so there will be a slight lip with the Kayfun. It's not ideal, but it's not bad either.
