The only REAL big negative to the lemo is that damn air adjust, it moves by itself and never have any idea where had it last time, so just a guessing game, tired using a o-ring on it, but it blocked the air flow for me, so I just have to mess with it every time I refill as it moves when unscrewing it to fill.

I just leave mine wide open now.

I don't want buggered threads but I was hoping if I coat it thin enough it would be okay. I don't know where I can find a cork that big, it's a 26650 I wonder if paper would work. If the egg is cooked it won't run and at that low temp the paper should be fine.
Whatcha think?

How 'bout nail polish, Tami? Works for the engraving, so why wouldn't it work on the threads? Does that stuff melt at 125°? I just wouldn't want to patina the inside of the tube, but that's just me. Probably no harm in that though, huh?
dunno.gif

But you know what? The stuff I've read is that if you want more colors, it happens really fast (like 20 minutes). If you leave it on longer, especially in heat, it turns blackish. Do you have any copper pipe lying around? Maybe just try it out first.

Problem with that, is the same as the squape r, have the airflow to open and you lose flavor, I want clouds, but want good flavor too :)

Nailz, just get a sharpie and put little tick marks on it. Just do it on the side away from porn shots, so Nikki doesn't see.

Great idea! I think my husband has some copper fittings in the garage, he'll never notice if I put a patina on them :D The only thing I would worry about with the nail polish on the threads is making sure they're good and coated but I bet it would work great!
Thanks Cindy!

Mine is pretty much staying put with a 4x2 o ring. Its a little, fat one. It moves just a tad sometimes when I unscrew the base to fill. But I put a mark with a permanent marker so I know where I like to keep it. I agree that the tighter it is, the better the flavor.

Discovered something disturbing about the Robbot ZNA this morning.

Being the perfectionist that I am I wanted to smooth out the edges of the "316" main unit where it meets the tube section. It was rather sharp so it was a minor detail that I wanted to attend to.

Upon filing down the edges some I notice that the "316" steel started to Bubble then flake off, this is what I found underneath:

Decided to buff the sides to see what I'm actually working with here.
I worked with metals for over 20 years and there is no way 316 steel is suppose to look like this:
Notice the copper color undertones.....

Tried the magnet test on the mod too, 316 Stainless Steel is supose to be non-magnetic, as you can see a magnet sticks to it just fine:

So this is rather disheartening, for a mod that touts itself as a 1:1 Clone with 316L Stainless Steel body, it certainly doesnt show the characteristics of 316 Steel :(

Still working the metal down, I appear to have worked thru some sort of coating. I managed to get it down to bare metal now but still have some spots to work on. I plan on sandblasting it after I get the copper colored coating completely off.

Here is where its at for the moment:

Wonder why they coated the Stainless Steel? Its suppose to be corrosion resistant by its base characteristics.

So, is the magnet still sticking?

Yes its still magnetic, at first I thought the coating might have cause it to be magnetic, but after working it down to bare metal its still sticking. I have heard of SS magnetizing if it was heavily machined so maybe that is the answer. I feel better now that I have worked thu this mystery coating. I would have been bummed if they tried to pass plated copper off as 316 steel. Not sure if its exactly 316 now due to the magnetism, but at least its some sort of steel.

Sandblasted it to finish it off, I think it came out pretty good now:

does look nice

now you'll need to put a Russian or an Erlkonigin on that guy

I do have a authentic Russian, but I actually polished the matte finish off of it when I first got it, the matte didnt do well with my mods at the time.

I think the contrast will look good considering the the tubes are more polished on the ZNA. I tried to match the original finish that it came with.

very nice matte tone.. so the copper plating is supposed to be an aesthetic feature? it does just the opposite..

Still not sure why or what type of coating they put on it.
Originally it has a matte finish, I just put one back on after I worked the coating layer off.

It didnt come with the copper color bleeding through, I just buffed it down to see what type of metal it actually was after I noticed it starting to flake off inside the mod.

To be honest, for a bit I thought the 316 part of the mod was a plated copper of some sort once I started seeing it show up during the buffing proccess. It is steel, just not certain that its 316L now.

And the wait begins on a new order...

Snagged the Dark Horse clone that went up today which has four AFC rings. Plan to use it with the copper AFC ring on the copper SMPL clone I ordered a few days ago. Also added a glass/copper drip tip to complete the ensemble, lol. I actually remembered to use fcvapingcheap this time. Brain farted on that for my last order.
