Got my Hobo this morning. Initial impression is not great. Machining is okay, I guess. Threads for the inner barrel to deck attachment are crunchy. The "brass" and "copper" top AFC rings are both discolored. Copper positive block is crooked and has a small bit of damage. Not sure I'm even going to bother building it. I may just see if Doris will let me return it. I'm not having a lot of luck with RDAs from FC. Can't recommend this one, folks.

The mods I've purchased have been awesome... the RDAs, not so much.

Are returns sent to NC rather than back to China?

I typically stay very far away from threaded copper products. Copper is not the go to metal for strength and durability anyway.
Believe me, I have thought of it for if nothing else the aesthetics, but in the end, just could not do it.
Thinking of finding a brass setup, maybe?

Only copper on this is the positive block. Rest is stainless. It included five AFC top rings - "brass", "copper", stainless, white plastic, and black plastic. The thing actually looks pretty good. I also found that the inner barrel doesn't thread on correctly for proper airflow cutout-to-coil orientation. It's really kind of a POS. I've emailed Doris and would like to get this thing in the mail tomorrow.

I'll likely stick with FT for my RDA clones from here on out. At least there are tons of user reviews for their listings. Or wait for my FC peeps to put up reviews here of FC RDAs. Probably my fault for pulling the trigger the day the Hobo hit the new arrivals. Lesson learned.

Noooo, say it ain't so! I literally just ordered this one over the weekend  You should deffo try to return to the US warehouse if you think its unusable, I think Doris would let you.

See, I was taking a chance on this one because I usually don't like to order anything that is manufacturer unconfirmed, but it looked ok from the pics so I was willing to take the chance... Now I don't know if I should wait to see what shows up or just cancel it. I don't care about the copper or brass caps, I wanted it for the SS, White, and Black specifically.

Even though I am anti white mods, I do love the way the Hobo looks with the white or black cap on a slick all SS mod. Sorry hun .. and now I am discouraged :( I tried to get Doris to go the route of a known manufacturer on this one, but she didn't listen. I didn't even realize they had stocked this version until this weekend.

Maybe mine was just a QC fail. *shrug*... it's a POS though, that's for sure.

Hopefully Doris will let me return it to NC. If I have to send it to China I'll probably just toss it in the garbage. It only cost me like $7 after using my $10 code from the wheel of destiny, lol. Of course, I'd now like to be able to use that $10 towards something else, I guess. I still do need a Lancia.

Does Focal have a GP Paps style mod?
Hopefully one that has a good firing button!

I'm looking for a SS Paps style to hybrid onto the SS Heron clone that I have. I searched focal but didn't see any.

Once I find one , my brass Quasar can go back on my brass Paps.

No, FC doesn`t have a Paps. All SS Paps clones I´ve seen have a different threading - not a 20x1mm. You could buy a brass 18350 mod next door and mix it with a tree of life, most 22mm Caravelas ......

Imho the Paps switch is the best

Ugh .. that is horrible news  The deck didn't look that great in product pics, but it appeared useable and the outer body and AFC rings looked good.

You should definitely reach Doris directly and tell her that what you received is a POS ...

Desire has the "Giant Pulse." Dunno how good it is, but it at least supposedly has the right threading to hybrid the Heron.

Yes this could fit too - the tc is not too deep and the screw is short.

Silver Dragon has 20x1mm too, but the tube is too long ( tc has a long screw and is deeper ). 2-3mm gap.

I have two from Desire and they work really well. The authentic heron i have threads on fine. I liked it so much i bought a real paps V3 which i probably wouldn't have done if i didn't try the clone first. Only reason i don't really use them anymore is because i have an authentic now and way too many other mechs.

Edit: the ones i have are before they removed the logo.

It's a clone of the Vape JAM atomizer, I've also heard it called the Viggo atty.

$11.68 JAM Style Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer W/ AFC ring Kit -
Shame it doesn't perform for you, it's a handsome piece IMO.

Just received my 'group buy' Plume Veil clone from Focalecig. Actually the machining looks good but the air holes aren't aligned right with the inner sleeve. But I believe a little shop work on my part will put things right; thankfully the mismatch is such that removing some material is needed rather than adding material- which would be a lot more problematical than removing. I'd post some photos but I doubt there's anyone here who hasn't seen a PV....

FWIW the Plume Veil took 17 days with 'EUB' ($1.50 "upgrade"), the exact same as my DNA 30 clone took w/o any upgraded shipping. Granted it's only a buck fiddy, but just the same that's the last time I opt for that.

Just received my HANAA MODZ Pack DNA 35 Style Voltage Wattage Mod and keep getting TO HOT message after a few vapes. I have a 1.5ohm coil on a Fayfun @ 12 Watts . Whats up with that?

Also posted on the facebook page. I bought this one because of the larger fire button and don't like it very much. It pushes in the middle exposing the sharp edges around the fire button. I could learn to live with that but not letting it cool after 2 vapes.

Any ideas?

It sounds defective, so you should just return it. The too hot error message is a common defect on all of the Hana-ish clones, but you are the first person that has offered feedback on the big button version ...

The Viggo was a good dripper, but the center post insulator is trying to escape. Safer to keep it as a porn only atty. Good luck modding the PV.
