I won a copper 30mm Tobh clone on mod Envy last night and I don't own a 26650 mod. The logical thing to do is buy a 26650 mod, right?. Right.

So, anyone have this?

$20.96 4Nine Style 26650 Mechanical Mod -

I did, and I hated it. Too many times the fire button would stick. I bought a copper penny clone to replace it, no trouble on the fire button.

Good to know Tami, thanks. I'll probably just snag a 26650 Stingray X instead. I like recessed button, no lock ring, hybrid 510 mods which is why I was looking at the 4nine. But, I don't want any part of a sticky switch.

Lol! OMG, 2 days ago I did a vertical coil in one of my Roses. I think it took me 20 minutes to get my legs trapped with the coil centered and vertical. Its tasty, but I will have to be bored to do it again.

Chucky keeps shorting every night at midnight because the decks have crappy coating. Paranormal Squapetivity. Given up on him. I have an authentic and a Kingtu clone. However, they both get screwy a little with the spring loaded 510s on some of my mods. So authentic is going to live on the Zero. And clone on the Wotofo.

Today I got the Orchid. Get my coils on. And a post screw snapped a leg. Grumble, grumble.

Why can't I have just stayed with kayfuns? :D
Just a tip if this becomes a problem (it did for me)- some screws have a sharp end from when they were manufactured. Using a dremel (and safety goggles!) and a fine sanding disc or roll, round off the edges slightly and smooth them out nicely. I wrap the threads with several turns of tape and clamp them with a hemostat. However you do it, try not to launch it across the room! Or you can smooth them by hand using emery paper, just takes longer. By hand it helps to do this using wetted paper, just don't drop the screw down the drain if you do this at the sink!

Well, considering not too long ago I used to have to rebuild 30 Evod heads at a time...
I'm still there- still like my PT2s and don't see that changing any time soon. I do also run Kayfun and Plume Veil clones, but they share time with four PT 2s/Davides. But now that my coil building and especially rayon wicking has improved, I find I'm getting a lot more mileage from the rebuilt Kanger heads than ever before.

Ok so I'm eyeing the Origen V2 for cyber Monday. Any thoughts. Who has one that can tell me about the air flow? Also on the Orchid and the Lancia. I think I'm finally letting the idea of getting a Dome go. Still haven't heard anything to convince me it'll work for me.

I have reviews up for both the Orchid and Lancia so you can check those out :) As for the Origen, do you mean the Genesis or the dripper? The Genesis was just released so I don't think anyone has that one in hand yet. The Origen dripper is a sexy piece but I don't have that one, never got it because I was unsure about the air flow.

I like my Origens so much I just sent them to Chowderhead to get modded for bottom feeding.

So far, this is what I'm seeing with my twisted 30g coils:

    1. Significantly faster ramp up time compared to 26g or larger.

    2. Last longer from gunking. I think that's due to the quicker heating.

    3. I think more flavor and vapor, but maybe that's my imagination.

What is your resistance? Single or dual coils?

I tried twisted 30 gauge once, can't remember what the resistance was, but that sucker was hot and to intense for me, even though I normally vape at a 0.50ohm resistance.

Yep. The next time I build it, I will do the post screws and file the holes in the posts since I'm not sure which is the culprit.

It depends on the build, but it is higher than single 26g. In the SqR right now they are 1.2 ohm. That same coil in 26g gives me more like 0.9 ohm. I do run them at lower power because they heat up so quickly.

The one in my magma is 0.8 ohm. When I had a 26g in there, it was 0.6.

I haven't done a dual with them yet. I'll do one in the Billow and let you know.

I've been told it's more from the quicker (almost immediate) cooling after your hit. What causes coils to gunk is all that residual heat retained by fat wires cooking unvaped juice on the coil. If you notice that the gunky side is usually the one away from the airhole, that's why. It takes too long to cool down. One way to allay that is to let go of the fire button about a second or two before you're done hitting it. So it's kinda like the English overdubbing on Bruce Lee movies with fat coils - just a little outta sync - you have to push the fire button a second or two before you hit it (to warm it up), and let go a second or two before you're done (to cool it down).

haha I have an electric stove. When I fry an egg, I turn the heat off when I flip it and let the residual heat cook the other side.

That is how I vape. But, yeah, they aren't gunking as quickly, whatever the reason. I've never actually read anything about them. I experiment with everything and decided one day to make some. I liked the results and made a bunch of twisted wire. And was happy to finally have a use for all that 30g.

Does anyone have a Nauhalon clone? Opinions on flavor and difficulty of build? My buddy, keepsmilin, wants us both to get one.
I was gonna get one of those, but decided not to, because I heard they get really hot (I think most gennies do though), and capacity's tiny (like 2ml). And if it wasn't airy enough, it would be really hard to enlarge the holes - maybe not the teeny tiny outer one (which might suffice), but the one on the inside actually going into the chamber is at a weird angle and would be really hard to get to. The build looked a little funky to me too. Wasn't that the one with the common post? The only thing separating the +/- is a tiny insulator. :/

...and yet it remains on my wish list, because it looks so slick! Nice to see someone else asking about it - I thought I was the only oddball here that wanted one of those.

So I rebuilt both my RBAs and the BF-99. Sweet success....except... My iStick is now useless as I have to futz with the 510 connection each and every time I change atty's AND I built my RBA's at dual coil 30 AWG 6 wraps for .9 ohms. IStick refuses to fire [emoji23]

Good thing I have An MVP to back up and plenty of batteries. I WILL master the dual vertical coil before my Origen arrives! Lol

The Genny is at a happy 1.3 single coil 28awg 5 wraps. I just can't make up my mind what to fill it with yet [emoji5]️

your Istick has receding center pinitis?

There are stories of taking the rubber off an old drip tip and tucking it under the pin to stiffen it up.
