Just posted this in the Aqua thread. Same deck and wick as Fogger. Just took my Aqua apart after 2-3 days of perfect vaping and at least 8 refills. This wick and coil setup works every time. ...less wick gently tucked into the vertical channels...don't wick this like a dripper...it's an rba with a tank....g/l...I did make my shoulders a little bigger on this one as I was using browner juices...

Try more of a Kayfun style build. If you really want wick in the channel just go in the slightest amount, say 2 threads worth. When I used cotton for builds that worked great on the big channels in the large deck version. Since I've shifted to rayon I just cover the top of the channel, nothing actually in it.

I ended up with a kayfun style wick setup, the cotton just touching the bottom of the deck where the juice channels come up. Its working in between a kayfun and dripper at the moment. Was hard to find that perfect balance when putting them barely into the juice channels, would either get dry hits eventually or flood easily.

Hits pretty good too, have to set it down from a nic buzz before it even gets warm when chain vaping with 6mg. Dual coiled with 28ga around a 2mm bit for .7ohms.

If you lay wick on the top deck it is too near the air holes and will be a flooder...imho....maybe not for you but rayon will flood that upper deck and airholes...

I'm using organic cotton and push it down over the juice channels and away from the air holes. Will probably order another fogger or two to play with wicking into the juice channels though.

The Fogger is an Aqua clone...same deck same build same wick...put the wicks to the bottom of your channels and gently fluff them into the channels so they recess from the threads so ur chimney screws on but will not move your wicks...you can go a tiny bit into the horizontal juice channels but not much. You do not want your wick shoulders outside your coils to have ANY bulge in them...they should be when plumped with juice, the same diameter as your coils or very near. So bottom line, it is a thinner wick than plump...my 2 cents after wicking aquas 900 times...

I hate to be the one to bring you this bad news and I mean no disrespect, but I strongly suggest against Aqua style build in any of the Fogger models. I too built an Aqua many-many times that way, Aqua works. But Foggers don't. I own 5 different Foggers (see picture earlier in this thread) and I promise you, if you try to build the Fogger Aqua style, you will run into some problems. IMHO

I have been looking at this thing and those monster airholes were screaming for a vertical build so here it is. 7 wraps, 28awg, .41ohms. I'm not sure how I will do the wicking...maybe a split wick into the channels or a kfl wick laying on the deck or maybe wrap the outside of the coil and close off the top to force the plume directly into the airholes...I will try them all and report back. Thanks for all the help.

What page are your pics on...do you recommend deck wicks Ala kfl? Let me know. I will try every way possible just because it's fun.

Those vertical builds look nice, I'll have to try to do them sometime. One thing I've been doing that I haven't really seen mentioned here but when I wrap my coils I wrap 1 of them the opposite direction of the other. This lets me place the higher leg onto the positive post on both sides of the base which in turn gives me a bit more clearance of the positive base and allows me more vertical adjustment of the coils without shorting.

What is the advantage of doing the vertical coil over the normal horizontal coil? I've never done one before, but might give it a go if it is worth it.

I'm not sure if there is an advantage as far as flavor / vapor but my thinking is by utilizing the air channels with a rivet or drill bit you get a coil holder while you tighten the leads and for me that's a huge time saver.

I wrap the coils loose so they aren't touching so that may make a difference but I have tried tight and loose coils with horizontal and vertical and cotton and rayon and I find a big difference between tight and loose coils and a slight difference with vertical. Rayon wicks better, lasts longer, prevents leaks better and tastes great on first vape. I prefer the taste and amount of vapor with vertical loose coils wicked with rayon. As taste is always subjective YMMV.

Agree with opposite winds, that makes it a whole lot easier. I use screws now to get perfect spaced coils so currently waiting on a left hand thread. Another thing to make vertical easier is remove the ground post and screw go into the spare parts bag and use the extra fill screw less o-ring for the ground.

Hope this helps.

Got my Fogger v4.1 in the mail yesterday.

Took me 3 attempts to get the build/wicking right but this thing is pretty awesome. Decent vapor production, (better than my Magma), good flavor and a really strong nic hit.

I ended up using the method where you clip the cotton above the chimney and then barely tuck it down into the channels. No dry hits and no flooding. Running a .5 ohm build with 28g wrapped on a 1/16th bit.

Well, the vertical coils did not work. I tried wicking it a bunch of ways and no luck so I went missionary style[emoji16]. I wicked it as has been suggested here...in a Kayfun manner. I was generous with the wicks but left them out of the channels. My first chimney screw down I had to reset my coils as one was rubbing against the chimney wall. Not good. It's a bit of a challenge to make sure the negative leads do not touch the positive block so my coils ended up high but I didn't mind that. I figured with those airholes the draw should more than compensate for it. I sealed her up and filled with Nicoticket Gravity...a sweeter juice and not too thick. I wanted a good test of flavor. I took my first toke and all I can say is DAYUM! She is a little beast good Lord! The draw is insane and the vapor is thick and rich and dense and the flavor is excellent. My wrap is a 7/6 on less than a 5/64th of 28awg and ohms out at .46. I started at 8 watts went to 10 then 12 then capped off at 14. The vapor was just too hot. I can taste the sweet in the vapor when I am drawing in and the the warmth...it's pretty awesome. I'm settled in at 10.2 watts. That's a good sweet spot for me. Zero dry hits, nothing even close. It is wicking to perfection. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions here. My Aquas and kfls are to the side lines for now no doubt. I hope all my fills are as good as the first one. Here are some pics:

Me too, great suggestion. I start one "over" the mandrel and one "under" the mandrel. Does the trick.

I posted the Fogger pics in copper and gold when Yiloong sent me the email. The Ebay rep I mentioned awhile back is doing a pre-order on the copper and gold.

I know the guy personally now and want to order a copper to mix and match with current 4.4 to match the new Stingray X clone...

...but I want it by the time the mod arrives. I want to order it from the fastest source even though I want to support him, I feel like an as*hole by holding off, and not ordering from him. ...Or do I just order from him so he fills his MOQ quicker and assume I should have it by the time FastTech gets it to me with the EPost delivery option deal?

Is this just stupid? Why do I feel like a S**head over $30 Fogger order? ...Does anyone have any insight on another vendor or coop for a copper Fogger?
