It seems like it's not the case here. I tried screwing it in upside down and it goes all the way through perfectly fine. When I try to screw it in the correct way, it seems like the threads don't fit correctly. It goes in without even spinning, and pulls right out with just a bit of a pull. I'm starting to think this is just a DOA :/ Any other suggestions?

I had a problem with mine also. I took the "chimney" off of the round cylinder bottom.. And screwed the chimney into the top section of the tank.
Fill with liquid see how she works!

I was thinking of trying this. However, I'm just worried one day I'll pull it out of my pocket and it'll come undone inside my pocket.

Lol I contacted the place I bought it and they told me to return it and if it is doa they'll replace it. Although they did try to accuse me of screwing it up myself

It's your fault, China can not make a defective unit. They are far superior and all their products have superior threads.

Where did you buy it from? I'm surprised that they won't just send you a replacement and let you either dispose of the defective one or issue you a call tag for it.

Yes it is supposed to screw in, otherwise the whole glass tank won't hold or be sealed.

I still don't get what "threaded airflow ring" means. Can anyone tell me?
My first one didn't have an o-ring for the airflow ring, the second one has an o-ring and the airflow control ring is a little thinner on one side to make room for the o-ring. For the first I just pinched the airflow ring slightly to make it less round and now it works great, doesn't slip around anymore.

This is my first fogger so, I don't know if the airflow is more restricted on this version or not. The airflow does seem a little looser with the ring removed.

Well I ordered x2 Fogger V4's as I loved my v2 (except for the difficulty of getting the coils into it). Supposedly they are the v4+'s. IE: threaded AFC.

I also pre-ordered AnnaH mod clone to mount these bad boys too as I wanted something that will not throw a temper tantrum when I put something lower than 1.2ohm on it like my SVD does. I don't intend to go sub .ohm and plan on sticking between 1-1.5ohm if possible as 1.5 works for me.

So now I need to get some .30guage Kanthal, and some 1mm silica (x2 strands per coil). I use cotton, and P&C from Walmart but I am hoping the 1mm silica will work better and not require me to change my wick quite as often 1x a week so far.

Anyone know a good place for 1 stop shopping for Kanthal and Silica wick? I know the vape stores I look at are missing one or the other, and only sell the kanthal and wick in short lengths. /groan

I haven't bought silica in forever since all I use is cotton balls now, but I used to order from OKC Vapes and got from Kidneypuncher a few times. At least then, if you ordered multiple qty, they gave you 1 continuous length, instead of multiple pieces of a short length. Both of them sell wire as well, not sure of prices, since I've been buying my wire direct from Temco for over a year now.

Oh thanks for the pictures mate! Not sure if I prefer the threaded AFC though. I guess you could drill 2 holes in the AFC ring to have it fully open how I like (and without having to expose the threads). It's interesting that there are two different versions even before the threaded AFC. Like I said my second had a gap inside the AFC ring to accommodate a thin o ring.

I just ordered one from frog in fog and had a choice of the V4 or the V4 plus. the plus being the one with the threaded air control ring. now, after i've watched a few videos ans read as much as I could find I decided one the first V4. I read the threaded one doesn't have as good of airflow... maybe i'm crazy

The orginal has excellent airflow but the AFC is very loose. All you have to do is wrap dental floss underneath the AFC a couple of wraps and AFC becomes very stiff. The dental floss will act like a washer. You don't even have to take the unit apart to do it....just slip it under the AFC... wrap it a couple of time and cut the excess dental floss off with nail clippers. If any dental floss is still exposed use another piece of dental floss to push the ends back in. Since the floss is underneath the AFC it won't show at all. It take a couple of minutes to do and AFC is perfect afterwards.

good idea :) also, I think I read someone used a really thin oring for the same effect?

You are welcome. I had just finished cleaning it and was about to install the first set of coils when I read your post.

I have a 1.18 ohm dual coil and I am vaping at 11.5 watts on a Kicked mech and liking it. I just left the afc ring off. While it has a lot more airflow than a Kayfun, I want more. I may drill the holes a little larger.

Has anyone compared the different versions of the v4? I'm going to order one tonight and I wanna know if the draw is any tighter on the second version due to the newer afc?

If you fill from the bottom screw hole with a standard juice bottle pressed tight against the hole does it flood? Do you need to fill it, thru that hole with a needle to let air escape?

    Thanks for the info

I filled with a standard bottle pressed firmly into the port. The only way to flood it is to over fill it.
