OK people everything on the fogger is stainless, the chimney included I believe, if that's the case, and I think it is is way better than anything else, I love stainless. Stainless and glass, common. Get real.

Yes it's all stainless, and works great. Just the two I got weren't perfect manufactured. Little things like tiny dents, imperfect finish / scratches, tiny shards in the glass tank, thin metal for the atty chamber, the outlet of the fill screw is half drilled away etc. It works great, but has a lets say rather rugged industrial look.

I have reduced the air holes on the deck to 1.2 mm on this one using a Taifun draw tube (half of one on each side).

Well everything is stainless steel...but the top cap, airflow control and the ring above AFC are paper thin. They bend and dent very easily. Hold a Taifun, Aqua, kayfun or good clones of them next the Fogger and you can see that the designers of the Fogger decided to make it as spartan as possible and with the least amount of material. They could have done a much better job with AFC. An AFC without a washer is pretty much useless. The AFC itself is pretty flimsy...compare it to the AFC on other attys like the Rose and you can see what I mean. I have said repeatedly the Fogger V4 is an awesome performing atty (it is my favorite atty right now) but compared to other attys it is pretty cheaply made. BTW I still haven't been able to get ring above the AFC off.

As far as loose AFC rings go. I fixed mine today with a very simple method. The clear rubber band that is put on it simply pushes down too far. If you take the bottom deck ring off so you can lift the AFC ring slightly, use a 20 gauge bevel cut needle to push the rubber band under the AFC ring slightly. When you put the bottom deck ring on tightly it will press the AFC ring down and seal using the provided rubber band.

    Works, stiff adjustment, and free!

Drilling will come tomorrow. Someone mentioned that it comes with 2, 3mm holes stock on the original version. That is wrong, it comes with 2, 2mm holes on the original version. I own an original. 3mm holes are larger than any RTA I have ever seen provides stock.

As it turns out, I don't have a 3mm, but do have a 9/64the bit. Guess ill be getting 3.5 mm holes lol :)

I'm a picky ....., and the afc on my v2 wasn't great but it is on my v4,the newer version, it may be thin but stainless it tough, I don't see it bending or denting, you know how heavy it is , imagine if it were thicker.... I don't think it needs to be either.

That being said maybe there are some discrepancies between batches, not just the newer and older versions on the v4 the batches themselves? I shoulda ordered 2 when I got this one....

Is the general consensus that cotton is the only viable wicking material for the fogger v4? I am very partial to ceramic wicks. I've been using them exclusively for about 2 months now. But the smallest I have is to 2mm and there's no way that's going to fit in the channels without clogging them. I have never used cotton before but I guess this is a good time to start. Has anyone had any luck using ceramic? Or should I just accept the fact that I have to use cotton for this device....(personally I'm pretty much done using silica).

@claviger...I can't get my ring off to get to my AFC so cant put a rubber band there, but I did manage to get dental floss underneath the afc and that has worked very well for the last week.

I would step up slowly using gradually larger drill bits...going to 3.5mm all of a sudden you might get your drill bit stuck in the atty....good luck though.

Edit: You would also have to drill the two holes at the base as well or it won't make much if any difference in the airflow.

The 2mm ReadyX worked just fine for me.

    Hmmm, My post didn't ...
    wait for it ....
    wait for it ....
    post. odd.

Ok so I got my x2 Fogger V4+'s and wanted to take them for a test drive. Bear in mind I do not own a mechanical, and I only have an Innokin SVD. So I have to wrap my coils at 3 ohms, to get my end ohmage to 1.5 when both coils are tossed into the Fogger V4. (Note: I do have the annaH DNA 30 clone pre-ordered) So wrap my coils (ended up at 2 by 3ohm for 1.5ohm), toss in my P&C cotton thread, and take a toot. Hmmm very light vapor, very little to no flavor. So I take a few dry puffs to get the wicks more saturated ... Take another toot ... Still very light flavor + vapor. I let it sit for about 30 minutes, and try again. Still light flavor/vapor. Hmmm ... I try a lung hit, and I finally get flavor, and vapor but I am not a fan of, nor do I want to continue to do lung hits. ugh...

I am thinking I might have to get the coils closer to the Air Intake holes on the deck, and maybe that will help. But ... Ideas? Suggestions?

Notes: AFC even on the V4+ is still loosey goosey, and will need something (thread tape, rubber band, floss) to tighten it up.
Notes; Draw is VERY loose compared to the V2. Of course can be adjusted with the AFC, but I thought it was worth noting.
