One more newb question about that build... those wicks are just covering the juice channels, not in them correct?
I just have a tiny tiny smidgen in the channel. I'll try to find a picture if I can, but there veeeeery little.
Some people have had success with none in the channel at all, but I get dribbles of leaks if I don't.

Hi everyone ,
I came here hoping someone might be able to answer a question for me... I love my Fogger v4.0 but every so often it leaks from the air intake holes into my pocket8-o. The holes I'm referring to that are occasionally leaking are the 2 holes that are underneath the sliding air adjustment ring.
I am new to RBA's and this Fogger v4 from fasttech is my very first one. I am in love with the large amount of vapor it produces! But I don't love e juice leaking into my pocket at random times, and I can't quite figure out how to solve this problem.
I'm not sure if this matters, but I'm actually using this on an Ego-C Twist battery which looks pretty hilarious, but it works! I run the Ego at about 3.2v-3.5v. I build the coils at around 3 ohms each for an overall resistance of about 1.5 ohms, and am using braided silica wick. I replace the coil and wick whenever it stops tasting good, around once every 1-2 weeks. Every time I change out the coils/wicks, I give the Fogger a thorough rinse with hot water and let it air dry while I build the coils.
Sorry if that was too much backround info, I can't think of anything else that might be relevant. But with a 344 page thread and counting, I'm hoping someone else has had this issue with the Fogger leaking from the air intake holes and can help me out with a solution.

I'm definitely not a fogger master, but you're pushing a little more than 8 watts through those coils, about 4 watts each. I'm sure it does vape, but I'd be a little surprised if it vapes a whole lot. 30, 32, 34 gauge?
My only point is that I could definitely see leaking, if the coils stay too juicy - if they aren't heating enough. Maybe that doesn't explain your leaking, but that seems the most logical explanation to me. It can only hold so much juice before it leaks, and 4 watts seems low enough for juice to actually accumulate, even though some is being vaporized.
In an unrelated note, I'm loving my fogger. It's only been with me for a about a month, but I get a far better experience from the 4.1 than from my Kayfun. It only leaks when I try and include the AFC (I don't screw the bottom cup on all the way, to give the AFC room to not cover the holes). It works fine for days, then complains out of nowhere.
Solution: no AFC. I might grind it down some time, but I'll never use the AFC anyway. The vape gets too warm for me with mouth to lung, and that's the only reason I'd ever decrease airflow.
I still need to find the best distance for the coils above the air holes, but it's working absolutely flawlessly, even at only 15 watts. That's my take on Fogger v Kayfun, and they're the only RTA's that I own. Superior airflow an superior vapor (easily), with matching flavor. Kayfun always gives me trouble with random burning, never the fogger. Neither have leaked on me (when I'm not stupid).
I LOVE my fogger. its a v4.1. I do wish i got the 4.0 model with the massive deck, cuz these pictures dont do the deck on the 4.1 or the slimmer models justice. these things are friggin tiny. i have mine built to .5 ohm and usually run it at 9.7 watts to 18 watts on my zna clone depending on the juice i have. The only real complaints i have about mine is the drip tip seems like a really small diameter. but switched it off for my clear tip from my old RBA and its been working FANTASTIC. about to fill 'er up with some paramout 'merica red peach and blue. Oh another thing that throws me for a loop, is the bottom fill hole in mine can be quite the pain to get some thicker juices into my fogger. Specficially G2 vazilla.
wicks, wicks, wicks. thats all it comes down too. took me 4 tries to get the build to where i wanted it, and its awesome. i get ZERO leaks. i do have the 4.1 not sure if there is newer models out now. but i got mine off ebay
Agreed: coil size and wicking are everything. And yes, the 4.1 is the latest V4 model, the V5 replaced the 4.1
I've noticed that even when the wicks are "just right" there is a little seepage at the air holes at higher power/vapor levels. I think it's condensed vapor left over inside the chimney rather than actual leakage from the tank itself. If I could remember to get my finger off the fire button a second or so before I stop inhaling it would probably stop.
Same here. On one of my Foggers I drilled the vertical air holes straight through, and my mod gets pretty wet, but it's not from leaking. It's really bad on my eVic Supreme/Lemo in hybrid mode. The top of my eVic is swimming with condensation and juice build up.
You just gave me the best reason NOT to drill those holes straight through, LOL.

My fogger came with braided silica wicks and that's all I've ever used so far. They perform perfectly, but for me it's very difficult to get all 4 wicks lined up in the juice channels so I can screw on the housing. The silica wick always wants to move back to it's original straight shape and doesn't easily stay in the juice channel when I'm rebuilding the fogger.
I do wet the wicks with some juice and that helps the silica wick bend easier, but there must be a method I don't know about.
I see people use cotton, it seems like that would be more pliable and maybe stay in the juice channel easier but I'd love to hear what wick you guys would recommend for someone who is a beginner to RBAs. Thanks!

I've used silica / ekowool when I started rebuilding, but since I've ordered japanese cotton (Koh Gen Do or Muji or Shiseido) I've found it far easier to work with. It comes in pads that you can easily cut to precise strips to work with and it wicks well. The latest tip is Rayon for wicking but I haven't tried it yet.
PS: The leaking will also be dependent on the airflow. The tighter the airflow and the stronger you draw, the more liquid will get sucked into the atomizer from the tank because of under pressure. So if you use low power / volts you should not draw too hard or you might flood your chamber and get leaks as well. Even thought it's all in balance it's not that hard to get working as long as you understand what influences what.

I'm wicking mine with rayon, from Sally's, and rarely have any leakage from the tank. If it does leak I know I need to empty it and re-wick it because the wicks aren't right.

So, I busted out the off brand dremel, widened the juice channels, and opened up the center airflow a bit. Super easy! The jury's still out on how much better it will perform, but no burnt hits yet.
Now I'm considering widening the outer airholes on the fogger. I know there was some talk on where the bottleneck actually is, but the exterior holes are clearly a smaller diameter than the inner holes, so it should help somewhat, right?
My vapor is just a bit warmer than I'd prefer, and I imagine more air would help. I keep the AFC ring off as it stands.

^ AMD helped me drill out the external holes to match the internal holes. IIRC, it's 2.5mm. Hits waaaaay better imo although still not wide enough to do full lung hits

Interesting, thank you. I remember you'd shipped it to him, and I saw the pictures. I thought I remembered air slits on the inside, and couldn't remember exactly what he did.
I know the SS is going to be a pain. I think the Kayfun wasn't machined all the way, because the horizontal juice wells were very easy to widen with the dremel, but the vertical ones were tougher; like they'd given me a head start on the horizontal.
I'll see what the dremel does, but I won't touch it with an actual drill. I hear the fogger eats bits for lunch
Readeuler, if you decide to drill it out, I had good success using a battery drill and a 1/16" bit for a first pass. Go very, very slowly with both RPMs and pressure on the bit and it'll go fine. To go bigger, I'd recommend getting a set of bits in .1mm increments up to the maximum size you want to end up with, then use them in order going slow and easy. I have a dead Big Fogger base with a 2mm bit stuck in it from trying to cheat.
