Yeaaaah I spoke waaaaaay too soon.

Left my foggers on the side table over night and woke up to a mess.

Def need I squish some cotton in the vertical channel, if only just a bit. Sigh

Fogger v4.1. I either get dry hits or leaking with most juices. Think I will play with it a little more then try a Taifun GT clone. If that doesn't work, I guess I'm buying some drippers.

The easiest way I found to get the Fogger v4 to vape perfectly is put enough wet cotton in the vertical channels to barely fill the channels from top to bottom. I make my coils 1.5mm and even with these coil only half the cotton goes down the vertical channel while I leave the rest above the channels...I never get leaks and no dry hits either.

Ah yes. I was doing that with 1/16 drill bit which is about the same size. Works well for most part, but I couldn't go past 22 watts without dry hits. I believe there's simply an inherent limitations to how warm you can vape it, given how skinny the wick is. My intent is to try to get to 2mm or 2.4 mm, but the size of the juice channels limits that.

Surprisingly, I'm not getting this problem except for a little moist around the AFC, but that, I'm assuming is the condensation from vapor that comes out of the airflow at the end of each puff. Mine is not leaking maybe because I'm using a lot of cotton and the liquid gets absorbed by it or because I'm using 70% VG, but I don't have any of my cotton inside of my juice channels, not one strand of it. I'm actually quite impressed with this Fogger V4.3 of mine. It blows my Kayfuns, Taifuns GT, Aquas, Ithakas and Flash E-Vapor out of the water. It is on par with my Drippers and my Gennys in Vapor Production, Throat Hit and Flavor. I generally use two types of e-liquid. 12 Mg Nicotine liquids for my Tanks and 6 Mg for my Drippers. In this Fogger 4.3 I have to use my 6 Mg Dripping liquids that how hard it hits.

So I've vaped another tank of DIY 50/50 juice with my new setup. I'm still getting small leaks out of the airholes, but I don't think the wicks are burning anymore.

It seems whenever I adjust the afc it leaks also - may be my imagination. But it's useless - I'm either going to take it off or just leave it wide open. I tend to chain vape, and the drip tip gets incredibly hot anyway!

I really want to get it leakproof...guess it's time to try a different wicking setup now. I always use cotton nowadays - but I do have some 2mm ekowool I think.

I don't know how much of a hassle it would be for you, but I use a skinny rubber O-Ring around my Fogger, next to the AFC ring. I use it above the AFC ring when I vape to prevent AFC ring from turning freely and I use that same O-Ring below AFC when I'm filling the tank to be able to close airflow completely. I use one of Kayfun Tank O-Rings which I'm sure you have plenty of.

I too am running mine at 21.2 Watts on a Mechanical Mod (see picture below). But I'm sure it is capable of much more, off course if you don't obstruct the juice flow by stuffing juice channels with cotton :)
I'm so ready for the "Big Fogger" 28mm. Couldn't you tell?

Yeah problem is the only way I've found to work for more than 22watts is if I have no cotton at all in the channels. But that leads to leaking :/

Maybe I just needa stuff more cotton eh.

Maybe I didn't explain myself properly in the previous post but a picture might help. I don't have a decent camera to be able to take nice pictures....but I found this picture in the ECF. I think they have bored out their channels but I set up mine the same way and without altering the device in any way. Notice how most of the cotton is above the deck and some is going into the vertical channel just enough to so the device won't leak. I run my cotton all the way down the vertical channel but again only very little is going all the way down instead of the whole tail. Here is the picture:

That's how I made mine the first time, and I got dry hits running at 0.8ohms with 1.5mm coils. Are you using V4.3?

I gave up on small coils in these things and went back to 2.0-2.2mm I.D. with little to no cotton in the channels. I was getting too many dry hits with the small coils and thick juice. Maybe thinner juice or less power would work, but I don't do either of those things. (.7-.8 ohms @ 20ish watts)

Yeah, currently vaping a 50/50 mix on a 2mm coil at 7.3 - no dry hits at all, although I'm getting some leaks.

I really, really would like to get rid of the leaks!

Obviously not, because this is the picture of V4.0 which was better then V4.3, smaller deck, smaller chimney, 6 Ml capacity. Unfortunately, Yiloong switched to manufacturing V4.3 without notice and we all are stock with it. But I'm not complaining, other then it now has 3 - 4 Ml capacity, my V4.3 works great for me with absolutely NO cotton wick in the juice channels at all. No leaks easer.

Well my set up is 1.5mm coils using 30g kanthal at 0.8ohms on the original Fogger v4. It is a set up that runs pretty hot. I never get dry hits and I vape a lot (about 12-15ml a day). The only suggestion is to let the tails of the cotton be very loose and just put enough in the channels so you don't get leaks. Again most of the tail is above the channel with some cotton going down the channels.

dudes...yall need to check out rayon
with tencel rayon i had a .8 build 26ga around a 3/32 bit and had just the openings covered. no dry hits, just had a little juice coming out of air intake occasionally.
with the rayon thats like whats in medicine bottles. same build, no dry hits and no juice coming out of air intake.
i decided to push it, 26ga 3/32 bit .4 ohm..no dry hits, no juice coming out of air intake and with airband all the way out.
the vape is as close to a dripper youre going to get.
if you havnt yet..you need to check out the rayon thread.
i feel its going to be the next thing in vaping.....its that good
