It's interesting looking DW, are those 3 tiny holes in the piece of plastic on the base the air holes?
They go to a matching set of 3 holes in the side of the base for airflow. One set on each side for the dual coils. I was looking at it myself since Vapor Joe's mentioned it. If it wasn't for the plastic bit I'd get one. But I'm concerned enough to wait until some reviews show up and I can see how the plastic bit holds up.

D_eagle seems to be very well designed.....the juice channels are big and the AFC seems really nice and you don't need a screwdriver to fill it. It seems like you can even access to the deck without having to drain all the liquid from the tank. The only design flaw is that plastic insulator.

What makes that plastic insulator worse than the one on a V4 or kayfun?

There are six air holes in the plastic insulator, three under each wick. When I first had seen this on FT it appeared that there were only three on one side so I passed on it till I found out it had three on each side.

Reading this was the selling point for me, the fact that the guy melted the insulator dry burning the coils well...well I don't want to say but I think it will be no problem if done with a little "thought" involved in the process.

Did you see the picture? The plastic is totally exposed and under/next to the coils. This is really unbelievable that they would do that. From one review... they mentioned that the plastic actually melted with a dry burn.

Anyone do verts yet?

Only thing keeping me from doing verticals is the limit in terms of wick thickness. Haven't figured out how to balance using so little cotton with sufficiently wrapping the vertical coils.

So I redid my coil on the F4+. I siliconed one airhole and the two adjoining wick ditches so run a single coil build. I'm using 30ga and counted about 7 coils (may not be exact). According to my meter, it's 2.7 and seems average vapor (50/50) on a mechanical 18650 (just got it day or two ago). From what I've read, less than 7 coils on 30 ga I could try to go lower resistance, but the numbers/visible vapor seem off here. Maybe new batts in my meter would help. I'm using el cheapo harbor freight $4 special and 'zero-out' at .6 so I'm subtracting that from the atty reading. Thoughts?

2.7 ohms on a mechanical? If I were doing it and only had 30 gauge I'd twist 3 pieces together and wrap a 5 or 6 wrap coil with it. I'd guess that it would come in at around 0.9 or 1.1 ohms area.
Your cheapo meter should be just fine as long as you subtract the resistance of it's self.

I know with a kayfun style RBA with the airholes under the coils, for optimum vapor and flavor the coils should be no more that 1mm-2mm above the airhole. This puts the coils less than 1mm from the cheap plastic insulator. Now that I've perfected the wicking, at 0.6 ohms the insulator on the deck is constantly burning and melting. Has anyone found a fix for this fatal flaw? I assume the issue is caused by a combination of design flaw (coil and insulator positioned 1mm apart) and cheap plastic used for insulator. I'm thinking about buying a sheet of Delrin to replace the insulator and hope it fixes the issue. There are so many types of Delrin; does anyone know which type is best for our application as an atty insulator, and what thickness of a sheet is needed? Delrin's not cheap, but I can get a square foot sheet for $10 online and cut it to fit, as the fogger v4 insulator seems relatively simple. Thanks in advance!

In addition to the delrin replacemet insulator, maybe an extention for the airholes (like the Taifun GT) that doesn't reduce the airhole size by much and is not ghetto rigged, can help as well, as the coils would be placed higher and this farther from the insulator. Any input would be greatly appreciated and could help all of us. Have a great night everyone, and keep the tasty harm reduction up...

So I just built a 30 ga. 1.4ohm build for my ProVari with silica, it's actually for my dad, so I don't have to constantly change out his cotton, and I swear @ 3.7v the thing his just as good as my other fogger v4. 2 with the smaller deck on my mechanical(nemi).

I cut the wicks a bit shorter than pictured.

I'm pretty impressed. I'd way rather use the provari mini than the nemi with an 18650!
