Fogger V4!!

Naw. It's all personal preferences really. If you're more of a mouth to lung hitter, the stock airflow of the fogger is gonna be waaaay more than enough.

It's the folks who are straight lung hitters who will need a looser airflow. Or high wattage vapers; the extra airflow makes a HUGE difference in cooling a scorching hot vape down to a warm or cool vape and I guess if you're chasing clouds.

I wouldn't think too much about it tbh; whatever floats your boat, is the right way to vape

I totally agree. Its different strokes for different folks. Personally, I just enjoy big lung hits. The sensation of a massive amount of vapor in my lungs is pleasing. I was the same way when I was on analogs too. It wasn't until I got my first RDA that I found I was actually satisfied with the direction i was going. Little to no restriction in airflow while still creating a nice, warm, dense vape is the name of my game.

I wouldn't call myself a "cloud chaser" by any sense of the word, but I do enjoy massive plumes. Especially when i build my own coils and get my setups just right, then going to a local B&M and listen to employees brag about their setups or builds and just taking a 1 second drag with twice the cloud theirs is producing. I enjoy when they ask me to build their coils from now on

I bought the fogger after considerable research. Impressed at first but I cannot stop this tank from leaking through the damn airholes. Tried both methods... In channels, just barely in channels. No good.

I literally have only built and wicked mine once. The first try I wicked with the Delasco rayon, I cut them to the deck, moistened it with some juice, then moved the ends so they were right on top of the juice channels. After I filled it up, I did some dry primer hits like i do with my kayfuns to make sure the juice is getting to the wick. Then and only then did I have a leak. Pretty sure it was from over saturating the wicks with the prime and it leaked out the air holes. Haven't had a single problem since. Went thru an entire tank in a few hours last night then filled it up again, vaped some more, and let it sit overnight. No leaking since.

Leaking out of the air holes?

I had the exact same problem but I was not even paying attention to the channels. I followed somebody's advice up there ^^^^^ and (I'm using cotton yarn) I cut the ends of the wick at an angle at the ends an just barely stuck it in channel. Hasn't leaked a drop since.

Just give it another shot. (Or clip the wick that's in there)

Well, I'm starting to like the Fogger more! I rebuilt again this morning, had enough time to spend at it, and it's performing a lot better. This time I used 11 turns of 30 gauge in a helical coil rather than a micro coil. It came in at 1.31 ohms which fires on everything I have. I wicked with cellulose and trimmed and tucked carefully, although they are not all perfectly symmetrical in the channels. It is producing significantly more vapor and the overall hit is like a truck! It does work better on a Vamo or VTR at 15 watts but looks like it was built to be on top of my 134.

Next project with it is to work on the air control ring. I want to grind/sand about a third of it, the smooth, recessed, part above or below the knurled section to allow it to open more fully but still have control of it. I'm thinking about a "fixture" to hold it solidly while I work on it. Probably nothing more than a groove cut into a piece of two by.

Re: huge amounts of air flow vs what I seem to like. Guess those comments make sense. Back when I smoked a carton a week I much more often took drags like a pipe smoker instead of deeply inhaling the smoke, although I'd be taking those deep puffs if stressed. So I'm not going to be too concerned that I am happy with a restricted flow while others are talking about drilling out air holes.

Re: sanding the AFC ring. Some here mentioned that the back of the ring is angled so that although it appears that half the hole in the base is covered in actuality its considerably less. Enough that I thought the poster said reducing the height wasn't worthwhile.

^ lol I can verify that. I was one of those who was really worked up over the apparent design flaw: having the AFC ring seemingly covering half the hole.

Then I compared 2 4.2 side by side, one with AFC fully opened, and one without the AFC ring at all. The draws are identical.

x2, I couldn't tell a difference with my AFC ring on or off. I plan on opening the holes up a little bit, so I'm guessing the ring may need a little adjustment then.

If you take . 25 off the ring is probably fine with the holes opened up.

Finally after trying for several days,i got my fogger going properly,and wow,i love this thing haha.I was getting to the point i didn't think it was ever going to work right,i would get dry,burnt hits,replace the wick and then get leaks so bad my hand was covered in juice,rewick again and get a few good hits the dry burnt taste again.I have to say though,some of this was also because i have been trying to get rayon figured out,but anyway this whole time i was trying it with it in the channel,so last night i tried it kayfun style,and wow it is perfect,no leaks,noburnt hits,just perfect,definitely worth the frustration the past few days.I have the original v4.0,so when i get paid this coming week,now i want to get the 4.1 to go along with it.

Well, my latest build is leaking, just a little. I'm not sure if it's condensed liquid in the air channels or actual leakage but it left liquid marks on the white shorts I was wearing yesterday. Left it laying against them, sort of vertical, while sitting on the couch. I'll finish the tank and play with the wicks, probably re-wick, later this afternoon.

On another note, maybe I should have tried an RSST. I have a friend from here on ECF who has a physical disability and has a bad problem building coils. So, I built some coils for her, 2.0 ohm micro coils out of 30 gauge, and wicked them up with cellulose. She got them yesterday and installed one last night. I got a PM from her, complete with a "clouds of vapor" video.

On another note, maybe I should have tried an RSST.

I just got rid of my used pyrex RSST, kept one new in the box though I don't know why LOL. Also my Kangers, Nautilus, Omegas, Davides, EGOs etc. Holding onto the Arnold just cause its such a novelty. Had to thin the herd. Given how the Kaiser is going, I'll be getting rid of my three standard size foggers. Keeping the BIG fogger until at least the BIG Kaiser is released.

Just rewicked after my 3rd tank. Dry burned and brushed. Too lazy to do a coil change. Coils high off the deck with U wicks just touching the decks. No leaks at all. Maybe a little thru airholes since the rayon makes it a saturating juice ...... .6 ohm build at 9.5watts full flavor wet and warmish.

OK, experts, splain this one....

My latest build was definitely leaking. Just a little but leaking none the less. So after vaping through the first tank I took it apart for a look-see.

The wicks and coils were, of course, pristine. After rinsing the wicks were perfectly white and had good contact with the coils all the way around. The tails were all at various lengths in the channels. In fact one was all the way down to the bottom. I spent abut ten minutes trimming and arranging the wicks in the channels. When I got done there was, maybe, a sixteenth or even less in each channel (the wicks were saturated from rinsing so it was pretty easy to get things identical in all the channels.)

I put it back together and filled it with about 4.5ml. No leaks, at all and I'm already through about two thirds of the tank (chain vape much?). I kind of thought that with the vastly reduced amount in the channels it would be more prone to leaking, but that isn't the case. There is a pretty good amount of wick directly above each channel, but that was true before I started trimming.

Sitting here scratching my head.
