Darned if I remember how many wraps it was. I measured out a length of wire to about 1.5 ohms, wrapped a coil and installed it. I usually work strictly by resistance and don't count wraps for that reason, wraps vary according to the coil diameter while resistance is a fixed value.

My 10% figure is based on the conversion of AVG to RMS, which is actually 1.111 times the AVG reading (Drexel University Math Forum). Someone posted that it also depends on pulse width, but that is true for either AVG or RMS on pulse devices and I don't think there is a significant difference from splitting that hair.

The only issue I have with my build is that it is a very harsh vape....and I know it's not the juice cause I've used it in tanks before and it's not that way. Do you think it's something with my build that I could do differently? Or the wicking maybe? I used organic Japanese cotton, just enough to go through the coils and into the channels, seems to be wicking just fine but I don't know. Or maybe it's my coils. Any suggestions?

The only time I get harshness is if I push the power too high. It does indicate that there is too much heat. That can happen IF wicking isn't happening at a fast enough rate. I'd suggest getting some rayon since that what I am using with great success. Nothing beats a properly installed rayon wick, not even KGD, in my opinion for what ever that may be worth.

I use rayon from Sally's Beauty Supply. It's Graham Cellucotton in a box with the number 44060 on it. That box is big enough to re-wick with rayon every day for the next century. If you do go to a Sally's, and they're a nationwide chain, make sure the box/bag says rayon on it. There is a similar line that is made with cotton which isn't what you want.

If you do use rayon be sure to use more rayon than you would cotton. Cotton expands when it gets wet while rayon contracts slightly. You'll know you have the amount right when you hear or feel a squeak as you pull it through the coil. Don't roll or compress it either because that will result in too much n the coil and choke the wicking. Trim the tails by at least 50% and as close to the coil as you can get.. Check back through this thread for detailed instructions and what a Fogger looks like with a good rayon wick.

I do have a Sally's nearby...yes I am female and no I am way too young to be grey, no matter what the numbers say! Lol...I'll have to check that out - it's better that Japanese cotton?

In every conceivable way... at least, for me.

I have a Fogger V1-2 and it's never vaped better with the rayon wick. And no leaks, no dry hits.

I'm male, grey, and have no problem walking into Sally's if I need something they carry. In fact, the next time I'm over that way I' stopping in to see if I can get a pair of scissors that have extremely narrow tips for trimming rayon wick tails with.

Good for you...my hubby wouldn't be caught dead going into a Sally's or Joanne's Fabrics or anything like that! Lol

One of my favorite set-ups is a 4.4(4.1) with 32awg duals on an iStick cranked all the way up, what great little combo that is! It makes me feel really stupid when I'm vaping my $500 worth of Flask/Kayfun4 and it really doesn't perform any better!

Everybody's experience is different for some reason. I think, my Vapor Flask DNA40 with Kayfun V4 (ToBeCo clone) is my absolute BEST setup. IMHO

But I can't seem to get a good flavor out of my Lemo for some reason.

Same here with regards to the Lemo, I have to turn the power up to 35 watts or so to get decent flavor. I think the chamber is just too big.

I'm having problems with my K4 vapor-locking and drying out the wick. I have to crack the fill cap to get any bubbles! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I've got the wicks tails trimmed down to hardly nothing, and they're bearly touching the deck!

edit: when the wicks are wet, the K4 in TP mode is absolutely fantastic!
