Thats pretty cool adrenn your like a talking book.lol! I think you know nicholas tesla developed the first "wireless power" a long time ago (if i spelled his name right) just like the coil someone posted here in this thread. I believed it worked up to a hundred miles it was big though and i dont know how efficient? but it was cool on the history channel the had a show all about it. You could light up a light buld in mid air turning it on from 100 miles away. that pretty neat to me.

Nikola Tesla. Always a hero of mine.

The Tesla Coil is what you're referring to, although I never saw one demonstrated to work at those distances. Lots of myth and mystery surround Tesla.

I've built many a Tesla Coil. Even got suspended from school for jumping an arc across the quad and making my own thunder at lunch once. Well - I had help from a friend who was almost as insane as me... ;)

Plasma globes, Van De Graff generators, Jacobs Ladders - all great science fair projects for playing with super-high voltage electricity... (edit to add: super high voltage and RF electricity - before someone corrects me...)
