yep... its not until you get into RBA rda that you get to the next level in flavor and vapor.... that's where it gets confusing; so complicated, but best to master dripping ... it pays off in understanding how RBA's and rda's function; i.e making coils.
Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping ;) Check out Ocelot's blog she's done a pretty detailed break down of all the ins and outs. You'll want a drip shield along with your atty.

I've been dripping exclusively for three years ever since I figured out that cartridges sucked. From what I've seen cartos, clearos and tanks aren't much better.
i see you've been around, so this is meant for newbies. :)

Transient: What are using to drip? And what mod/battery are you using? I really want to try dripping and even bought a drip tip but for some reason, I'm not "getting" it.

I have an eGo Twist with a Kanger clearo. What do I buy to attach to the battery and where do I put the liquid? (I know, talk about stupid questions)

I'm just using a Cisco Spec 1.5 ohm bridgless atomizer. It's a little weird at first, it will take a day or so to really break it in, it has a strange flavor at first, but don't let that throw you. Another thing I've noticed that I've seen almost no one talk about is that if you're switching from clearos, you're going to want to pull a bit harder on the atty than you normally would a clearo and take shorter draws. I'm using mine on an iTaste MVP but you can drip on literally anything, but if it has a set voltage that is higher, you'll want higher ohms. If you're using it on an ego, you'll be at 3.7 volts so you'll want either a 1.5 or 2.0 ohm atty. (That's just my opinion though). Let us know how it works out for you!

This is a great post, because I am in the exact same situation as the one you described but have not attempted dripping just yet. I think I am planning on giving it a try, I just need some idea on a good dripper that I can also rebuild...Something relatively cheap, since I have already spent a fortune on tanks, juice and every other eCig gadget that is shiny.

Thanks! I hope it helped. Hopefully, I'll be able to get several months out of this one atty if I keep it clean because it is not rebuildable as far as I know. The good thing is I don't need several of them for different flavors and buying just one is pretty cheap. It's definitely the best vaping investment I've made so far. Now I have so much more money for juice, and I feel the juice is going to go a lot further. Also the HH.357's at Avidvaper have gotten rave reviews, and I've heard of people getting over a year's worth of use out of them. That's going to be my next purchase.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I'm really wanting to get into rebuildables soon. I just really like tinkering with things and I think it would be fun. Plus aside from being very small to work on, doesn't look too hard with just a pretty basic understanding of voltage and resistance.

CAM00152.jpgThis is what I drip with.. My I-Go S ( 2.1 Ohm Micro Coil ) set at 5.5 volts on my Provari. I put my Juice in my U-Can while im on the go. I always get the best tasting juice while dripping. But remember if your going to drip with and RBA taste is subjective to how well you can build a coil.. When I first started with RBA's I went through massive amounts of wick and wire just to get it right. And also remember it's what works for you there is no one way to vape. PS Dont drip and drive! haha

My favorite dripping atty is the Aero from Avidvapers; its a hybrid (cross between 306 and 510) its a little expensive, but built like the HH357... micro coil, and ss wool filling... very consistent (in fact more consistent the the HH357 imo).
Don't worry about the LR (its 1.5 ohms) because its very smooth for an LR.
Half the price of a HH357. same vendor. Cisco.

The atomizer is just a heating element. No filler, less wick material. In my experience it provides a better taste than any carto or clearo, and a stronger throat hit.

You can drip on a clearo. Many people do. It works best on a top coil clearo like a CE4. Just put a couple of drops directly on a coil and vape away until it dries.

But an actual atomizer will give a better experience, in my opinion.

I have a CE4 and CE4+, both new, but I haven't used them yet. I would like to try dripping. What does the coil I'm supposed to drip on look like? Is it obvious? Do I drip on the coil while keeping the long wicks dry? Thanks.

Take the CE4+ apart. Remove the silicone grommet above the wicks. There's the coil. Put it back together leaving the grommet off. Now it's a dripper. You can even fill it up if you want to. Just don't let the tank go horizontal. ;)

Hmmm... I may have to try the aero... Been using the 357 long barrel since I started dripping, and its the ONLY atty I've used

Just a tip I found here, after a few days of use, I soak it in vodka and let it dry over night. Seems to perform better than before cleaning it.

Most any kind of alcohol will work.. I use 151.

I soak mine for about 15 min.. then just blow it out from the bottom.
I think it resets it.. So far, my horizontal has been going since I stopped smoking.
for 2.00, I can not beat the cost, flavor or taste of it.. a 5 pack should last more than my lifetime.

Hey guys,

I've dripping with an RDA since Friday in probably more of a gung-ho, foolhardy manner than is necessarily smart, i.e. vaping my own coils and THEN reading up on things. Any definitive thread I can be pointed toward? There is a LOT of information scattered about!

Anyway, this is night-and-day compared to anything I had been using up to this point. The vape is so flavourful and satisfying, I get HUGE amounts of vapour, and it takes the "ritual" to the next level. My latest coil is burning so nice!
