My final rant is that everyone who enjoys vaping and doesnt own a mechanical mod with a topper they they need to go out and get one. Cause your precious regulated vaporizer with a 15 dollar chinese chip (unless its a dna chip- but stuff can still go wrong with any chip) in it will break at some point. I hope it doesnt. Just be prepared and buy a 10 dollar mech mod so you can still vape while you scope out new mods and/or get your regulated mod fixed

Why not just have two ProVari's, or two Reo's or two of whatever you so desire? Two DNA 20's or 30's, two Nivels?

How about we all make sure we have a pen and paper to ensure when our computer chips break, we have a backup?

I've purchased chinese made clones of fountain pens, knives and mods. A chinese copy of a Parker 51 is a nice way to get a pen that looks similiar to the real deal, which is no longer manufactured, however, it in no way approaches the quality that went into the original.

If you are convinced that clones are the way to go, then that is the way you should proceed.

Jealousy is an emotion, and the word typically refers to the negative thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, and anxiety over an anticipated loss of something, or the inability to secure for themselves what others have.

For the love of god, try not to be a jealous person, it leads to high blood pressure!

Cheers!

Easy to explain,

Some at silly prices.
Quality, craftsmanship, one craftsman designs, makes, polishes and loves it before he sells it.

Some others at silly prices.
No Quality, no craftsmanship, one hack slams together, covers blemishes, and dreams of cash.

Clones at low prices.
Some person steals design, mass production in sweat shop, does ok job in the end half the time (not close to Genuine)

I can afford it, so I do. If I couldnt then I wouldnt, its that simple. Sometimes it just feels good to know that you are supporting a small business, and sometimes its just the pride of having something "high end" in your clollection. Why do some people spend 50..60..even 100k on a watch, is it worth it? Individual preference Always!

Sometimes it is the trouser monkey envy thing

A local shop in my area had a mech made from solid rose gold. Apparently there's only two of them made, one in the Philippines and the other being in their display case. It's $1000. I'd never buy, but hey. Someone might have deep enough pockets for it.

Does this shop have a website?

LOL, just goes to show that you wouldn't recognize a good deal if it was right in front of you! It's solid gold, thats a great price, I'm sure the mod weighs over one ounce right?

Oh, wait, you don't know the difference between solid gold and gold plated! Can you be expected to know the difference between a clone and an original?

I don't have any tatoos. My apvs and mechss are not an expression of myself. They are definitely not a status symbol to me. I smoked. I looked for a healthier alternative an found one. An APV or Mech is like a smoke to me. When I am done, I can squish it under my foot.

While if people want to spend the money for one, go for it. May as well go big and buy an Otto Carver special... Anything other than that, is not something to brag about.

I've used replicas for roughly 7 months due to lack of money and i have no problem with them. And for my birthday last month i bought my first authentic, the Ramble mechanical mod. I use it a lot, and i'm proud enough to say that ive worked hard, and i deserve it. The performance may be the same, but the craftsmanship is not from what I see.

I work at a machine shop and see parts similar get made into production. It takes engineering, research and development and then trial and error to have these parts made. so it's hard work and costs these modders need to absorb somehow.. while clones just reverse engineer an existing part. Not putting clones down in anyway, whatever it takes for people to vape instead of smoke is always good! just my 2 cent speaking from manufacturing standpoint.

Dont listen to me too much as i have 2 mech mods that are 150 a piece. But i love them - they are reos. They have a purpose besides just engaging a circuit to fire a 510 connection

PAH! Phooey!!
How dare you insult a REO by calling it a mech mod!!
A REO is a complete integrated all-in-one box!
You can vape your REO; you can't vape a mech.

Good point jjchou!!! But it has to be innovative and quality and patents snd they shoukd be supported for sure by people who can i.e. Reos and Zen

--- zane - im sorry but frankly you sound insecure and uneducated. If you need to feel secure about yourself by showing off your expensive toys then i would really seek doctors help to deal with it

This thread primarily designed towards newbies who dont know better or people who cant afford a flashlight with a 5-0 connection for 250 bucks that has a higher voltage drop than a 20 dollar clone and feel bad cause they cant buy the expensive model.

Also, some great points by others - each and everyone had a balid point to consider besides zane of course lol

I lost ya edyle -

lol
Friday nite beer time.

A REO is a full integrated device that you put liquid in;
It's all container, battery, tank, and rba all in one integrated vape machine.

a mech mod is just a container for a battery; no liquid; no coil.

calling a reo a mech is like calling a car an engine.

i just recently bought a authentic AR Mod serial #472 for $180 and a patriot attomizer for $80 on it. its my first authentic mod. I also have a NZonic V4 clone that was $70 with a igow4 attomizer $20 (this was my first mech mod). LOL, I shall never call a reo a mech mod again! Um, what shall I refer to it as? I'm thinking a Reo will do, unless it's a Grande...

Meh, I have a $600+ custom straight razor. Sure, I could use a $.30 razor, or a $10 made in China straight that requires hours of work to get it to work correctly, but I appreciate the craftsmanship of a well produced piece. I restore vintage razors myself, and see what goes into a full custom piece. Now, these aren't cloned (attempts fails due to steel and geometry constraints), but I can definitely understand wanting to
a: Support the artist that created the design
b: Spend money on an original that may maintain value
c: Know that the machining specs are on, and that the person making the mod cares about what they are doing and what the final product will be.

The people that are paying for the originals are fueling and funding the cool designs of the future.

But if you can't or don't want to pay that much, simply don't do it :)
