thanks you so much for the info, i did buy in bulk (all pg based) and had planned on weening myself off nic altogether. had planned on premixing ratios but will leave it in the pg for storage.
For bulk nicotine base: Decant into smaller bottles, preferrably glass. Fill to the top with minimum air space as this minimises air contact, and also minimise agitating air into the base while you are decanting. If they are going into the freezer then they don't really need to be dark bottles - not much light in a freezer! Put dates on the bottles and use the oldest first. You should get a couple of years out of nicotine base in the freezer if it's 100% PG. PG is more stable than VG.

The bubble wrap is optional. Presumably it's to stop the bottles getting broken. I would prefer to stack them in a plastic freezer container and only use packing materials to stop them rolling around - better organised.

Yes, leave it as it is for long term storage. Just take out and cut enough base for the next 2 - 4 weeks. This will also give you the greatest flexibility in the long term as you don't really know how quickly you will want to cut down. It might even happen faster than you thought.

Yes, mason jars would work, but a better option might be 60ml or 100ml glass medicine bottles. (30ml is about 1 fl.oz). You could just take one bottle out of the freezer every few weeks and leave the rest sealed up. If it's high concentration nicotine (50mg/ml or over) then consider wearing gloves while you are doing the decanting.

I went from 24mg down to 18mg/ml after the first month but it was starting to get hard so when I was ready I only dropped it to 16mg/ml and I think I'll leave it there until after the three month tobacco free period. If I'm happy by that stage, well I'll see how I feel but will be looking at dropping it down to 14mg/ml. There's definitely less throat hit when you drop under 18mg/ml but I'm learning to live with it.

I was actually vaping a lot of 0mg today at work as I was trying out some new concentrates I'd got and haven't had time to try in the evenings. It wasn't too bad, but I was getting a bit raggy by the end of work and mixed the last test with 18mg/ml nicotine base. I think I've hardly vaped 2ml of my normal nicotine liquid today (and I was doing almost that much on the long drive to work in the beginning!)

I've just had dinner and I'm not too bothered about vaping. It's funny how once you get over the whole tobacco addiction, the nicotine itself doesn't have as stong a hold on you. I'm feeling good about the prospect of lowering the nicotine content in my juices slowly, but I'm not putting any pressure on myself. I feel I'll know the time when I am ready to vape at lower nic.

thats awesome, im not brave enough to try it yet lol. i quit feb7th giving myself a year to get off nic. started off at 1.8 quickly went to 1.2 and for the past 3 weeks i have been tossing a lot of .5-.6 juices in the tank now 1.2 is feeling a little too strong.

the legislative talks is what brought me to DIY ( and reduced cost of course!), i love a variety of flavors mostly sweets and complex bakery notes, am over tobacco flavors unless they are more bakery types.:)

as far as bottles go it seems alot of places are out atm, had been searching on ebay and the shipping is out of sight i would be paying as much for bottles as i did for the juice lol. i have a ton of different sized jelly jars around here..will have to check around for the medicine bottles..wonder if craft stores carry them :?:

you all have been great help thanks!! :thumb: i feel the same as OP but i think it will be fun mixing (have to get some drip attys i have 0 lol)

When I bought my 500 ml of nic base, I also bought 8 of these brown glass eye dropper bottles, which are still available. Once filled, I put them all in the heavy duty plastic bag that my 500 ml nic came in from the same place. It all fits perfect standing up on the edge of a shelf in the back of my freezer. That way I can pull out a 60 ml bottle at a time to use. 60ml Amber Glass Bottle - MyFreedomSmokes.com

I would check to see if it's USP grade before I purchased it. This is where I get mine: http://www.essentialdepot.com/

I read above that feed stores sale VG? Wow I need to check that out....I have a tractor supply near here as well as a locally owned store that arrives a lot of feed supplies.
I got some flavorings in today but curious is these need to steep like e juice does before use?

Crocky, feed stores sell PG. Just make sure it is USP grade. You can find USP VG at walmart or Publix.

The flavorings dont need to steep prior to mixing. But once you make your mix youcan steep it.

Good luck!
I remember you said you were researching and putting a list together before making your first purchases. Did you publish that list anywhere? If not, would you consider doing so?

Sure I can post a list of everything I ordered if that's what you mean. I have my invoices so ill post it up in a bit.
