Forum is SLOW again...A fix?

Well for me, it's running pretty snappy right now. Pages are loading better than usual in fact. 
The WHOLE forum... or just certain threads? It's the latter for me. And others (as they have mentioned it in the thread).
I was outside working a few minutes ago so I didn't experience any slowdown at the time you posted but I'm came in a few minutes later and everything seems ok. the server load is minimal and page loading times are okay for me. I use crappy residential DSL from ATT so....
I'll look back through some logs and see if anything weird was happening a few minutes ago.

The forum was very slow for me on Tuesday, but it was better yesterday. Today it's running good.
Still slow for me as well.........Maybe a slight improvement over yesterday. The main page still has some major lag!
Maybe we can close down and start over from scratch?

Roly had the tech guys switch off one of the CDNs that we suspect may be causing some people to have slower loads. We'll have to see if this results in any improvement. It will take some time for changes to propagate so we'll be keeping an eye on it
Whis..........I'm beginning to think the problem is half ECF and half my own PC. At work the forum always runs smoother than at home. I may be in need of a new PC with a better processor.

3am in GMT-8 here, seems good. Love this time of "day".
You have to account for time zones and Internet traffic locally...as well as in the timezone of where you are trying to go.
Much of the issues could be local routing or even ISP/DNS issues. If a big enough provider is having an outage or a router somewhere committed kari-hari or a tree fell on a transmission line, etc. I also never use my ISP's DNS, I prefer Level3's with a fallback to OpenDNS.

Of course, making sure your PC is clean and running well is a first priority. Like preventing physical overheating from dust buildup, being slogged-in with ad toolbars and malware, underpowered for the OS you run, too many startup processes & programs, the list goes on...

Sorry but they get pageloads of 3 seconds with a good PC and a good broadband connection, 3,000 miles away in another country, Whiskey. We can't get it any faster than 3 seconds.
