OP-I don't seem to be able to unsubscribe from a thread using the link inside a notification email??

TY

The link is not to unsubscribe from the thread. It's to unsubscribe from any future emails.

If you no longer wish to receive these emails, you may disable emails from this thread or disable all emails.

It does not prevent any notifications from being displayed. For that, you'll have to completely "Unwatch" by going to your watched thread list or going back to the thread itself.

From what I can see, it's working as I haven't received an email on subsequent notices.

Retired1 - I have something that I have a little concern with that may be happening behind the scenes that over time will slow down the server. It deals with watched thread and how the system is handling unwatching them. If it is using some sort of filter for this process - as the user unwatches more threads that they post in - that filter will become more and more cumbersome and will definitely slow down response times - probably only for that individual user, but even that needs to be taken into consideration. There are several ways to handle it, but it depends upon what is supported by the software and how it is handling someone unwatching threads... Just trying to be helpful... no disrespect intended.

I would like to say thank you for removing those juvenile mood icons ... and also, for adding the very helpful join dates.

This new format is looking very nice

Um.. huh? The mood thingies haven't gone anywhere.

I delete first, then click on the Floppy next to the Camera.........................^^^ to delete draft.

Cheers. I think you must have miraculous powers. Since your post it's not happening any more. I'll remember that floppy option in case I do get stuck again.

Uncle - I understand what you say, but my problem is that, in order to be able to observe a rule, I need first to understand it.

I think what Ret meant is that if you are OK with your grandchildren seeing that content and having it displayed to them with or without their parents present; and if you believe it would be acceptable to show up on a notebook screen belonging to a respectable person in a crowded train with others able to see/hear it; and if you think it acceptable content to display in any office environment anywhere without any possibility of offending anyone significantly or any consequences for the screen owner; then the content is probably OK.

If there are any doubts about this - then the content is not acceptable.

It kinda makes it look like the old Kirsk (sp?) theme.

Maybe this has already been answered but this is long thread.

If I start to respond to a post and then change my mind my response just sits there at the bottom of the page, even if I exit the forum and go back in. Am I missing some option?

Replying to my own post. I'm pretty sure at this point that I had inadvertently hit quote instead of reply. Quote works a little differently on the new forum. I got a clue from a post another thread, thanks Robino. I was able to reproduce my previous state of confusion by misusing quote.

Good info, I didn't know that either.

Lol, after all my time here, I was still figuring out stuff @ the old forum everyday. Sad thing is, I'm Tech Support for my family :)
